Went here last week with friends. It was very low key and dark, which I found enjoyable. Good atmosphere. The chalkboard menu and wacky décor is fun. My boyfriend had some kind of pear hard cider drink.

$ 5.45 craft beers, and a zombie bar crawl, what more can you say? Really good selection of beer and bourbons, and a cozy bar with friendly patrons. Highly recommended!

Beer geek mecca, kinda trendy and a bit hipster. Lots of decent craft brews and boubons. Its the Bitter End(Fairhaven, MA) of the West.

Great beer. I went there on a Wednesday when Andy was tending. One of the nicest dudes around. Love this place I’ll be back again.

Thistle is a wonderful bar. Great beer selection all the time. My only gripe is the male bartenders never shave. It makes me nervous bringing my kids around there… And my kids are very important to me when I am drinking. My kids are great. They just get me. I love apricots.

No clue why this place has a 3.5 star rating. Great vibe. Bartender, Jim is personable and knowledgeable about the beers he pours. Beer selection is top notch and all inclusive. You can order delicious take out from District right nextdoor. Definitely worthy of 5 stars, unless you are a little bitch and like mixed drinks and bud light… in that case, find a shitty bar.

You can’t go wrong with beer flights! Great music selections, great beer selection, loved the ambiance too — and it’s right across from The crown plaza hotel so walking distance for anyone staying there.

Really low key, a nice place to grab a beer with a friend and catch up. The beer selection is great. My only issue with this bar is that on countless occasions the horrible service has influenced me to go somewhere else. The bartenders are so beyond rude that it makes you question why you would ever wanna go there. If the service was better I would go there weekly but with so many other options in the area, I would prefer to go somewhere else.

We discovered this place just walking by and were attracted by the handwritten extensive craft beer list on the front window. If you are a beer lover, you will definitely fine something you like here. I particularly enjoyed the Kentucky Bourbon beer on tap. You can also order some locally made soft pretzels to munch on while you drink. Def Leopard and Motley Crue were on the speakers but I am sure you can ask for different music if you wanted to stay longer. Chalk is also available to create art on the chalkboard walls both at the bar and in the bathroom! Overall a great place!

Met there after work on a Friday. Good beer selection and cool chalk menu. But the beer came out rather luke warm. Then I ordered some chips and salsa. To my dismay, I was handed a small sandwich bag with 12 chips and a plastic container with salsa, that you could taste came from a store bought jar. The seats and tables were in disarray and dirty. The bathroom was gross too.

I didn’t really like the lighting at TnM, it seemed like bad, too bright track lighting. Maybe cuz it was the end of the night and everyone was being informed that last call was in 10 min(early at 11:00). Lots of beers and most are $ 5 so that’s good for beer drinkers. There’s no longer any food from Brix since they’re closed now. I’ve tried to inform the Unilocal people but found out from the bartender at TnM that the owner changed the name/style for a short time and then just closed it all together. Obviously a lot happened between Aug. and Nov. Too bad, it looked like a decent place.

I love Thistle and Mirth, which doesn’t surprise me because it’s right next to(and owned by the same person as) Brix. The interior is dark and simple but packs a surprising amount of ambiance. It’s nicer than a pub but welcoming and unpretentious. I’d classify it as a mix between upscale speak-easy and old world pub. The beer selection is quite large and written up on a huge blackboard behind the very long bar, with some descriptions next to various brews, which range from locally made seasonals to internationally imported types. The bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable and can match a beer to any taste, including challenging requests like beer mixes(Black and Blues have nothing on some of the awesome combinations bartender have come up with for me). For food, it’s a very abbreviated menu delivered right over from the kitchen of Brix next door. Poutine, burgers, sandwiches, and chips but it’s all hand made, gourmet, and tasty as hell. There’s a great little sitting area in the front with comfy couches and games piled nearby if you feel like just hanging out, something I’ve only seen done in hookah lounges but that I absolutely adore, and there are smaller tables along the walls if you don’t want to sit at the bar and would rather a more intimate way to hang out with another person. Whether as the destination for the night or just a stop over for a few cool drinks or two before heading on to your dinner reservations, Thistle and Mirth is sure to please.
