Hair Express & Day Spa

Let me preface my review by saying that I am extremely picky and the only reason looking for new place is that I moved and my hairdresser of decade and a half is now 45 minutes away. This is my second time seeing Amanda at Hair Express.
The salon itself is nothing remarkable as far as settings go but they are open on Sundays which is fantastic for my busy schedule. I am in my 40’s, have short hair and don’t want to end up looking like I’m one step away from curlers & lavender dye.
Amanda seems like a genuine & kind human being who loves what she does. She also takes the time to listen as a stylist and adjust her cutting techniques accordingly. We were partners in the end goal of a good cut — I’ll be going back again next month.

I was SO overwhelmingly happy with my experience! Im new to the area, and have been searching for a new salon. I had the pleasure of meeting Becky, my new stylist. She made my night! Not only did my highlights come out amazing, but also she took the time to blow dry and style my hair. I felt so wonderful, I left in tears because I hadn’t felt that beautiful in months. I can’t thank Becky enough for the wonderful experience. I will be a loyal customer for years to come!

I wish I could give this place 0 stars, but unfortunately that is not an option.
I got my hair colored and it turned out horribly. As someone who has been getting their hair colored professionally for years, I know for a fact that Betsy (my stylist) was not following proper procedures for lifting and adding color. My hair was not bleached to the right state of pale yellow for adding the color. After washing the bleach out, my hair was still damp/​wet when she went to add the color which is another big no no.
I walked out with a hideous highlighter orange color, when I wanted a nice auburn. Something I had achieved before with other stylists… and never had this problem. I was so in shock that I just had to leave and try to fix it. I ended up dying my hair an additional two times to get it to a normal shade.
A total waste of $ 75 (plus a tip that was completely undeserved). And they don’t do refunds… so I’m definitely taking this up with my credit card company.
I wish I could say it was just me and one bad experience, but there was a woman there before me who had her roots touched up and they completely didnt match the rest of her hair. Maybe their cuts there are fine, but they are completely incompetent when it comes to color.
You’ve been warned.

I’ll tell ya I’ve been to so places in my life that turned my hair orange, blue and had no idea about color or how to cut hair and this place is great or maybe at least the two girls I see there Lisa or Missy they know there stuff and will get it right…
