George’s Liquor Store

I love the selection they have here. They have what I want any time I go in, and their selection of wine is awesome. I’m always trying new ones when I go in. It’s also at a good location for me to walk to which is convenient, and the prices are great too!

Went there with my buddy from CT, he went to a register with 42 beers after walking in clearly drunk already. I went to the other register with a six pack, he purchased his in a matter of seconds, while before the guy he even looked at my ID he said it was fake (it’s real). After going through his protocol, questioning me and matching the name with my debit card he refused to sell to me. When I asked why he said it was because I was out of state (RI). If that’s the case that’s fine but being extremely rude was unnecessary, however that’s the not the case… my drunk friend bought 42 beers with an out of state ID while I couldn’t by a mere 6. He then threatened to call the cops on me when I called him out. He was maybe 25 years old tops and should never have a job where he has to interact with people. Not going back again.

When I visited this store during a trip to visit my parents I was treated terrible, i have a NH state license now and I have purchased from George’s numerous times, but this one time I was turned away for having an out of state license (which is fine if its the rule) However, he didn’t even look at me as he spoke, and basically told me to move on, at 26 years old i had to go get my mom out of the car to come in and buy it and he was even RUDER to her and just shoved the 6 pack at us as we paid
Again I don’t know if the out of state license is a rule or not but either way no one should be treating anyone like that. I am a pittsfield native and have always dealt with George’s, please re evaluate your staff
