Yahr Electrolysis & Laser

I’ve only had one session here so far but I am a huge fan of the staff! Prior to my appointment, I was called twice to have consults over the phone discussing my goals etc. with Dr. Yahr. I also had follow up reminder emails and immediate responses. Very professional and timely. I really appreciate the effort they go through for their clients.
I was very nervous for my first visit, but they went through the basics and allowed ample time for my questions and concerns. We also discussed medical reasoning behind what was going on with my hair growth and tips to reduce it. I appreciate that they are very honest, they know it’ll work but not how long it may take. It’s a pricey thing to sign up for but for permanent hair removal I would pretty much pay anything! for 15 minutes its $ 50 and for 30 minutes its $ 70 and one hour is $ 110. Most people do 30 which is what I went for.
I cant say much about results yet as it was my first session but I plan on continuing to go, they are very flexible with hours and busy schedules. Very accommodating to what you have available. Also I can’t forget to mention that there was NO PAIN. I really did not feel much pain at all which was the best part. I have tried quiet a few things so maybe my tolerance is high, but he was very gently and precise with his technique. I definitely recommend this place!

I had my first electrolysis appointment today, and everything was very professional and went very well. First she broke down how everything worked, prices, and possible number of treatments. She talked to me like an adult, but using terms I could understand. I had a 30 minute session and ended up going a bit over because there was a few stragglers she wanted to get since I am leaving for a FL vaca in a few days (which I told her during our friendly chatter). I found that it was not painful and am very satisfied. I will update my review in a few months with and more changes! Great establishment and great Trained staff! It may be important to note I an a redhead with a very fair complexion, and blonde body hair.

I’ve had a few appointments now and I’m seeing great results. it’s definitely slower than shortwave but once that hair is pulled it’s probably not coming back. chuck as he’s called is very knowledgable and honest as well. I felt taken care of and well informed (even though I already knew most of the info)
I had been getting shortwave for awhile in brooklyn and it had a ton of regrowth and i was burnt badly on my upper lip because of my course beard hairs requiring a very high setting.
I’ve also had laser on my face one of the most painful things ever! and it didnt work so don’t try it. stick with electrolysis for the face and laser for your body, that’s what’s given me the best results. as a trans woman I started with very coarse body hair so I had to add dutagen to my regiment of meds to thin it out. after my face is done I’ll be seeing his wife to get my upper body zapped.

Yahr is wonderful! Trishna’s response is incorrect. I had laser hair removal over a little over 2 years ago done by a very prominent Medical Spa in Pittsburgh. It did not work and I wasted thousands of dollars trying to remove unwanted hair. Initally, you think that laser hair removal is working, but wait 6 months after your last visit and see the results. The hairs actually grew longer! I went to Yahr electrolysis to fix the problem and sure enough the hair that is being treated is not coming back. Yes, electrolysis is a longer process and it is not cheap; however the results are permanent. This must be why electrolysis is the only FDA approved treatment to permanantly remove unwanted hair!
Also, I was told by everyone involved in the laser hair removal industry that it was the better choice, and they were wrong. As I said before I WASTED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS on it with nothing to show.
Jane and Chuck are both wonderful and professional and I am seeing results.

I have been to Chuck for several months and I felt I wasted a ton of money going here. He was always 5 minutes late but ended on time or earlier, and when you are charging in 15 minute sessions that is a lot! I asked if laser was a better option for my growth and he said no without hesitation but it was the obvious better choice and ever other place I’ve been has said the same. Electrolysis brings them more money since its slow and charges by the minute. Jane on the other hand is much more thorough and caring, she does laser hair removal for larger areas. I’d recommend her for laser, but don’t go here for electrolysis
