I’ve tried to listen to this station in an attempt to broaden my horizons. Plus, being a serious metal fan, I am aware that metal has its partial origins in classical music. A number of genres are brazenly influenced by it actually. Hell there’s «symphonic black metal» and«symphonic power metal.» ZZZZZZZZ. I don’t know if it’s the music itself or the DJ’s who play a variation on limbo called«how looooow key can you be.» In a previous job, I often took over for a woman who worked overnight. She’d have WQED on, and I’d try to leave the dial untouched, again, in an attempt to be open-minded and all. Keep in mind that I don’t drink coffee. ZZZZZ. The same thing used to happen when we took field trips to Heinz Hall during my school daze. ZZZZZ. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Metallica made that rekkid with Michael Kamen. And what happened? The classical was drowned out badly, the S&M album being but one of many oil and water classical/metal experiments. Believe it or not, some of the Morlocks at work listen to this station. It is relaxing and is preferable to some other Pittsburgh stations. It soothes the savage beasts fer sure. Although, every now and then someone will walk by and say«It sahnds like Star Wars back in here!» I even put it on sometimes just to be a gremlin. «Hey who put THIS shit on?»
