I give four stars because my first trip I got a peanut butter brownie. I ate it about 10 minutes later and it was so stale. Seemed to be a day or two old. I am so use to the AWESOME bakeries in Seattle, and I am trying to find a local bakery that I enjoy, but it happens. Went again, and bought a pumpkin pie. The pie was great! Very moist and not baked to long, which gives you the option to heat it up again in the oven if you like your pie warm. So overall, it’s a wonderful place.

One of the best bakeries in the South Hills. I always liked Bartram House but found this place to be a lot better. The name throws you off because I only thought they served pies. Excellent cupcake selection and those cupcakes were awesome!

DISGUSTINGPIESANDBADBUSINESSPRACTICES! This place is the worst! Bought a peach pie here one evening. Went to eat it the next morning. And it was loaded with mold. My wife took it back that morning. The owner told her that it was our fault for not storing properly for the 12 hours we actually had it at our house. She asked him to explain how, even if we had not stored it properly, it could have a disgusting amount of mold on it. He finally gave her our money back after an extended confrontational discussion. STAYAWAY!

Oatmeal cookies are great and coconut cream pie, too! Nice selection of breakfast treats. Always place an order for any holiday and get rave reviews from dinner guest whenever I serve one of their tarts. My go-to bakery.

With a name like the Pie Place, who would have thought that they actually have a large selection of sweet treats to purchase? Not I. That’s why I had yet to visit the Pie Place. When I did stop by, I was surprised by the selection! Cakes(slices), brownies, cookies, cobbler, cupcakes, mini tarts and Betsy’s ice cream!(That’s right. You can get your Pittsburgh Pride right here). I decided on a brownie, a slice of almond tort cake, a square of the apple cobbler and(of course) half a pint of Pittsburgh Pride ice cream. After trying it all, I have to say the almond tort cake was moist and delicious(I have no idea how they sell it sliced and it still tastes that good) but, the Apple cobbler was fantastic warmed with whipped cream. Overall, the quality was wonderful but quality comes at a price. Each item I purchased was near $ 4 each. So, go there and try everything but know that your wallet will be a bit lighter than you’d like.

I. Love. The Pie Place. Absolutely love it. These guys have been here since back when there was a Borders located right next to them shopping area(boy that’s taking me back…). It used to be that after shopping at the bookstore my family and I would duck into The Pie Place and grab a freshly made cookie or one of their delicious berry tarts. Since the Borders closed I haven’t stopped in as often, but whenever I do I’m happy to discover that they haven’t lost their touch. The next time you want something sweet you absolutely need to stop on in here and find some cookies, a brownie, or one of their fruit crisps or tarts. They also make cakes, pies, torts, and rolls. Oh, and they sell biscotti and coffee. And you can order custom made desserts, too. I think you get the picture! From small sweet treats you can eat alone to bigger items you can take home or to a friend’s place, you’ll definitely find something that satisfies your sweet tooth here! Be sure to stop in and try this local business — they certainly deserve the support!

Everything that I have tasted in this shoppe is fantastic. Double chocolate cupcakes, fruit tarts, brownies, and they also have some gluten free items. Marybeth is super nice also. I highly recommend this local business!

This place is great! They don’t do pie slices but they have minis of most of their pies. Also, they have pie pops!
