This place is terrible, I mean terrible. You have to hope the food is fresh when you buy it, I was going a taco night but did’t have tie t make homemade salsa so I stopped in for tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were stale and I discovered an additional surprise when I opened the can of salsa. Mold, ew just thinking about it is making me sick. When I looked at the sell by date it was almost a year past. How is that even possible. Another time I had to stop in to pick a loaf of Italian bread from the bakery. Pressed for time I just grabbed a loaf only to get hom and notice mold spots throughout. No way hey get the sell by dates right on the chicken. Numerous times the date would be 4 – 5 days out but when I pull it out the following day for dinner it smelled rotten. It was in my fridge not a hot car. Not to mention when I went back with the chicken the last time the response was poor at best. I felt like I had to beg for a refund, but it wasn’t about the money it was the principle. Even though they’re right down the street from they have become a last resort.

This place sucks. Can someone please open a decent grocery store on Mount Washington? #Shop’nLift

I honestly don’t understand all the negative reviews at all. If you had spoiled chicken once, you probably should have stopped buying that brand of chicken and notify the grocery store so they could be aware and fix it. If you didn’t let them know they would have had no idea they were selling a bad brand. This grocery store has the best prices in the city for the variety. Yes, it is small out of necessity but I’ve never not been able to find something I needed here for a great price. There are always deals and coupons available and shopping for groceries while saving money on gas has been awesome! This is the grocery store I keep coming back to

Beware of buying meat from this store. I purchased chicken approx 20 times since it changed to a shop and save and 3 time the chicken was spoiled.

With the moniker change from Foodland to Shop ‘n Save, the first thing you notice about this tiny store is the shelves seem to be more stocked than before. One of the worst things about this place as a Foodland was the empty shelves from bad management. The bakery has changed, not for the good though. One of the best things about Foodland was the bakery. It’s still adequate. The deli does beat Foodland’s, best to wait for the two day sales that Shop N Save is famous for. All in all, for the people who are stuck shopping here, the change over to Shop N Save means the shelves are stocked at all times. It’s still not a great grocery store especially for those of us who Market District is the top of the mountain.
