Rita’s is a delicious summer treat in the Burgh. Does it exist outside of Pittsburgh? Not sure. There’s definitely a lot of locations around here.
Basically, it’s Italian Ice with very creative flavors like Swedish Fish, Mango, Pear, and (my unexpected favorite) Cotton Candy. You can have it straight up or with some soft serve ice cream in a Gelato.
As the weather starts to get colder and the beers get darker, we’ll be saying goodbye to Rita’s until next summer. Grab a cotton candy Italian Ice from Rita’s if you still get the chance. You’ll be remembering it come January or so.
