I have always wanted to try this and when my stylist showed me the flyer on my last visit, I had to go! Pricing is very reasonable. I called on a Friday afternoon and I was prompted to leave a message. Tyler called me back quickly and I set up an appointment for that night. I have been having some imbalance so after going on a week long cleanse I decided to see how it would make me feel. Tyler sat down with me and we started with a consultation. I told him some the issues I had been having. One of the most interesting ideas about Chinese medicine is that the emotions are taken into consideration to choose what trigger points to place the needles. The horoscope sign was also discussed. I’m aquarius so I’m water and air, Ya think! I have to focus on keeping myself grounded because I am ready to take off. I was asked to take off my shoes and socks while pulling up the pant legs. No pedicure and I hadn’t shaven my legs, Oops! I laid back on the massage table and half closed my eyes. He started placing the pins in my ears, forehead, chest, and several points in the legs. There was a slight pinch but no real pain. I have some tattoos so needles don’t bother me. Plus they are incredibly tiny, nothing like the injecting kind. Tyler also burned an herb in the room and somehow connected it to the needles in my legs, bringing heat into my legs. The lights were turned off and I was told to RELAX. I lightly closed my eyes and started to do some deep breathing but not as intense as the yogi breath. I relaxed into the bed and imagined I was sinking. Slowly I started to see flickers under my lids and sometimes images. I’m not sure if it was from the lack of light but it was calming. After 20 minutes Tyler came back and chatted easily with me, he made me comfortable enough to open up during the consult and afterwards. He gave me some very useful tips about meditation. He said that because I am air I tend to be in my head all the time and that it might be difficult to have clarity. We spoke about many things including, that in the muck of life, in the depths of the swamp comes something beautiful. The lotus flower rises from the deep and blooms with brilliance. I had to try it once and I’m so glad that I did!
