I do love this store. For the simple fact that my kids are growing fast and they are always rough housing, this place is a life saver. The quality and price are both really good. I have spent so much money on a pair of kicks for my oldest ONCE, and found no difference on the ware-n-tare. The store often has great sales and coupons, so I often find both of my kids shoes for less then $ 30! The practicality and style for both children and women shoes are worth it. For dress up, casual, and work they have a nice selection to choose from. However can be limited if your size section has been picked through. I have plenty of shoes from here and often receive complements. The set up of the store is easy, which makes for a great quick shopping experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love that they try to get you the best deal they have, instead of trying to swindle you like other shoe stores I’ve been to. This is my favorite Payless. And very convenient. However parking is meter pay, so make sure you bring a dang quarter!

cheap-y shoes but you get what you pay for as i’ve had to return/exchange so many pairs of shoes that it’s ridiculous… they are built with materials that wear out much more quickly than more expensive brand-name shoes, in my experience, at least … buy shoes elsewhere or via a reputable online retailer if you want something that will go the miles, so to speak … I will say that their return/exchange policy is reasonable. there is that.

When it comes to shoes, I look for a nice balance between cute and practical. This often means that my shoes either come from Target, or from this Payless. This Payless, presumably like many others, sets up its store by size of shoe, not by type of shoe. On the one hand, I like this setup — it makes my life really easy and I know exactly where to look. On the other, it does mean that my options can seem a little limited at times since I’m looking in one relatively small section of the store; basically, how I feel about the setup just depends on the day and what shipment came in when and how much of that shipment has already sold. Still, for the prices here, I won’t complain. I once bought the cutest plaid sneakers on sale for a grand total of about $ 5. I have also found things like adorable open toed shoes, lined winter boots, and bright patterned flats — all things I love! By the way, the staff here are wonderful. They’re happy to help you make your shoes last with very affordable weather-proofing products, which let’s be honest, ALL of us in the ‘Burgh could use! So all of my boots have been weather proofed with the spray products sold here. Also, if you have a problem with the shoes that you buy, they’ll happily help you get things resolved. I just recently found a hole in a pair of boots I bought here and was nervous about getting the issue resolved since the tags on the shoes had been removed before I found the defect. Turns out my worries were pointless — I was literally in the store one minute with my defective shoes, and out the door the next with a brand new pair. The lovely woman working there that day realized instantly that something had gone wrong during shipping and it took a total of one minute to get that problem resolved — and my new boots are an absolute joy to wear! I’m sure you’ll find the occasional dud here, but I’ve never had a real problem. Funny enough, I have one pair of boots from here that has a semi-defective zipper but are still totally wearable. Maybe I just have the best Payless luck ever? For now, my shoe collection has no room for additional pairs — but once things clear up a bit, I’ll definitely go back to Payless!
