The male employee at this company is excellent. I had the pleasure of touring my future apartment with him a few weeks ago and he was a pleasure to work with. The female employee at this company who answers the phones is a very big turn off. My roommate and I were interested in getting back into our future apartment to take some measurements as we have to buy furniture from scratch. I have now called 4 times and have yet to see the apartment. Every time I call I’m told I’m calling too far in advance to the time I want to come. I understood that the first time, abided by her guidelines and called back. Same thing the second and third time even though I was calling 3 days before I wanted to see the place. Don’t they have to notify tenants? We also need to plan our schedules in advance because my roommate lives out of town and it is a day trip for her to get here. The last time I called was really the zinger. My roommate will be in town for Memorial Day so we crossed our fingers and thought maybe there is a chance Meyers will be able to show us the apartment while she is here. I know other apartment companies tour that weekend. So I called, and was told that«This weekend is a national holiday, of course we are not able to do that. Do you own a calendar?». As a business owner myself, I would be horrified if one of my employees spoke to a customer like that. I think this woman needs to attend a customer service training ASAP. Either that or visit Disney Land or something to put her in a better mood. I give the company 2 stars because of the male employee. Otherwise, I would give them the lowest rating this site would allow.

I give 1 star just because I cannot give 0 or negative. I live in 5623 Phillips Ave. The management sucks. The room is awful. Very dirty when I moved in. Everything is broken when we moved in. All the sinks was stuck. Fridge not working for several times. Even the oven has been wrong for long time and they just don’t come to fix it. The gas has been leaking for several months until they come to fix it. The heating is also terrible. Very hot in the winter, but easily broken when the temperature drops to the lowest in the winter. Last winter, it broke three times in two weeks when the temperature was –20C. All kind of bugs in the summer and extremely hot in the room. At least 10C higher than outside. They treat us like nothing. The only thing they care is the rent. They raise our rent this year from 825 to 875. I am moving out without any hesitate. They like to shout at people in the phone and hang up while you are speaking. They never help. If anyone is considering their apartment, please please please take all the above into consideration.

I live in their Morewood Court. Besides the dirty carpet and poor heating, I want to talk about their RUDE maintenance service. I specifically refer to a 50ish guy. The first time they were doing some general maintenance to the building, and they accessed my apartment when I’m not home. When they left, they locked the second lock on my door which I never used since the first day I moved in, because it never worked with the key they gave me. So I’m locked out. Then I called the emergency line, and they sent this super rude guy. The guy came and tried to unlock my door with his key-didn’t work. So he left for other spare. He returned and opened the door, and ask for my key to try it again, which did worked(never worked before), and then he was totally lost of control! He yelled at me: «You didn’t even bother to try and just ask me all the way here?!!» I told him: «you tried with your own key the first time, you saw how it didn’t work, and I tried with mm key, and I couldn’t open the door, that’s why I asked you here’ Then He stormed out: «GEEEEEEZ!» and said something insulting about how stupid I am. I was so shocked this is the way they treat their tenants! Second time he came because my downstairs apartments were complaining about water leaking from my apartment. Later I figured out the water is from their old radiator, I guess they were adding water to the boiler, so pressure in the radiator went up. He came in and directly went to my bathroom, and asked me accusingly: «Did you take shower without the curtain?», since he saw the wet floor. I just told him I didn’t do anything that cause the flood, and explained to him maybe the radiator was leaking since I found water residual on it. He seems convinced by my theory, but he got EVENMOREANGRY! He then stormed out again, and without saying word!!! What a DICTATOR and TYRANT? I could find other words for this guy, since I feel so small and helpless. Both time I called Meyers to complain about that guy, their to their info desk promised to leave a message for Meyers Management office. However, I didn’t get a single word back! If you want a pleasant life, don’t live in this apartment, at least don’t ask for maintenance!

I have lived in a Meyers Management apartment for 4 years. They are really big in PIttsburgh, I am wondering if they are deleting people’s comments, surprising that I don’t see too many comments for them. Their apartments are usually at good locations, but inside the apartments are cheap dirt. They never do professional cleaning, it was the most awful place i had to deal with in my life. When I moved in all the screens were torn apart and i had to beg them more than a month to get it done. FInally, I was miserably bitten by all sorts of random creatures, and I went to a doctor, got a prescription and told them I will sue them if they do not provide a healthy living place for me and then they showed up the next day at 7am. I did not live in this apartment for several years because I liked it a lot, I lived here because it was very costly and tiring to move and the location was good/convenient to everything(Ruth Gardens apartments). They are extremely inflexible with lease end/start dates, they will treat you as a piece of shit if you dare ask any favors even if you are someone who has rented from them for several years. You cannot get them do anything on the phone, they will take your number and never call back. In my building, I spent an entire year very uncomfortably because on the second floor there were 2 apartments infested with bedbugs and you have to share your laundry machines with those people. The management always lies about that bug stuff you only learn it from your neighbors if you can. You will be paranoid wondering if you will get those bedbugs yourself as well and they will basically tell you to get lost if you ask for information. My apartment was mostly overheated in winter, I was opening al the windows, but when the furnace is broken, they do not fix it until 10 people call, you can freeze in the mean time, they could not care less. And they also do not start the furnace until late in October which is already very cold in Pittsburgh. Also, since the apartments are extremely old, in most cases, the heating is not adjustable. I never had problems with hot water. After fighting with them for several years to get some of the maintanence work done, I returned them an apartment that is better than what they gave me, so I got my deposit fully back in less than a month after I moved out. The rent increases are reasonable, I was paying $ 750 in 2009 per month for a 1-bedroom apartment, it increased to $ 785, $ 795, and $ 805 in the following years.
