I got my hair cut here today for the first time and this is where I will be getting my hair cut from now on. These people take care of you and they take the time to give you a great haircut. The lounge and cutting area had lots of dark wood and leather. Very relaxed environment. I got my hair washed, then a scalp massage with a hot towel over my face(felt amazing), then my hair cut and styled. She took the time to do it right and it’s the best haircut I’ve ever had. I’ve had plenty of haircuts at various chain haircutting places and barbers. No comparison. $ 25 is well worth it.

Maybe I’m just a sucker, but I like the sensation of being taken care of, individually and with a sense of luxury, even for just the 20 – 30 minutes it takes to get a men’s haircut. And frankly, having lived in cities of various sizes, the basic $ 25 men’s cut is a very fair price for the quality of service you get. To call itself a spa, though, it has to offer a refuge from the world outside. There are touches in the furnishings that give off the men-only vibe without turning it into a man-cave per se, and the encroaching shelves of styling products are nowhere to be seen. If you didn’t grow up with an old timey red-pole barber, but you are sick of feeling out of place in salons, you’ll find a home at MEC.

Don’t bother with this. It’s a pseudo men’s salon that will make appointments for services they aren’t able to offer, but will keep you waiting before they bother to tell you.
