Macy’s

The MAC makeup women was extremely helpful. That’s the only reason it was a 3 star. The place was a mess right after the store opened so that means it wasn’t cleaned up from the night before

I am not a big fan of Macy’s, but today I was able to purchase a cute shirt for only $ 7. Bargain! The cashier was nice.

This Macy’s is one of the anchor stores of Ross Park mall. Since there is another high class competitor in this mall they usually carry the same items and you will find more selection here than at other Macy’s stores.
I normally do not travel to this one unless I need something from another store in this mall. On this particular visit my friend needed jeans and I needed some tops for an upcoming trip. The place wasn’t overly crowded but clothes were everywhere and it was hard to tell what is on sale. They do have a price checker at certain areas to verify the cost and of course having coupons always helps.
We were fortunate on this visit that I needed an item pulled from a mannequin and my girlfriend needed a top that wasn’t in her size. A clerk was kind enough to get me the sweater and then when we went to check out they did call a neighboring Macy’s for my friend for her top. They had it in stock and tomorrow I will go there to pick it up.
Macy’s can be expensive depending on the line you are purchasing but you can get good sales if you look hard enough. My impression is that most of the merchandise is picked over from Easter and probably won’t have much more until they start summer clearance
Again the big drawback for me at this mall is parking which can be virtually impossible unless you go on a weekday and even then it can be problematic.
The place is clean and easy to follow signs to locate the various departments. I will visit this store again if I’m in the area.

Oh Macy’s, I have a love-​hate relationship with you. When it’s good, it’s awesome, and then something bad always seems to put a damper on my parade. I just want my experience to always be like the good times!
I will say the upper management here is fantastic. My boyfriend had brought a watch in he bought for me there for my birthday to have 2 links removed. When he came to get it, the lady has removed 3 links. For what reason? No idea. 3 links was too much, so we brought it back to have a link added back on. As the guy was fixing it my entire watch fell apart! So we figured whatever the lady did to it when she «had» to take out 3 links was the reason that happened. I wrote Macy’s because they should know if someone is not doing their job correctly, and that they had an unhappy customer. The manager of the store personally called me to apologize and fix the situation and that really blew me away! I work in customer service so I see and appreciate it when someone goes above and beyond. I wish all employees there would react like she did!
Well that warm and fuzzy feeling only lasted so long. Between being ignored in certain designer sections, to impersonable service, Macy’s is just not consistent. But hey, your going to Macy’s for a reason so get in and get out and you’ll be A-​OK!

I’m disappointed in this Macy’s. Selection is shallow. I can’t find what I’ve seen on-​line and promised was in-​store. And I can’t get any help. Service is okay, but the folks just don’t really seem to care. I have to run them down and beg for some help.

Good for the shoe section. They never seem to have my size in the shoe I want though. I don’t know if that’s a reflection of them needing to stock more or a reflection on me conveniently choosing the shoes everyone else wants to buy too.
They’ve got a nice MAC makeup area and you can find some hidden gems in the clothing departments.
Try to skip through the fragrance area though. Overpowering smell and the employees here go wild with jumping on everyone that walks by to promote their perfume or cologne.

Why does it seems that a majority of the sales items are not really sales prices? And why does the selection feel like it is stuck in the late 90s?
I’ve never understood the layout of this store. It’s so confusing, I wish that if you are going to force me to walk through your mists of colognes and perfumes that I should get a reward for doing so. As far as the clothing, I know women comprise a majority of your shoppers, but don’t make me go on a scavenger hunt to find your mens department.
This is basically my distraction spot when I’m not really looking for anything when I’m in the mall.

The salesclerk had 40 years experience selling men’s suits. He was extremely helpful. There was a great selection of shoe sizes. Great sale prices. I will definitely shop here again. There is free wireless, too!
