Great stop for coffee in Shadyside. Very friend staff and a pretty casual environment. It’s still cheaper than most coffee places and is one of the better!

Absolutely the best coffee in Pittsburgh. The baristas know how to make a wide variety of expresso. I often just ask them to make me whatever they want and I have never been disappointed. For those that like a little bit of sweets they also serve Dave and Andy’s ice cream! Try the affogato for a special treat!

Blessed with Commonplace Place coffee in Squirrel Hill, I often wonder how the people in Shadyside make it. I think Jitters is probably the best option within Shadyside, but it is not my favorite coffee shop by any stretch. I ordered a hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin on my most recent trip. Both were good and enjoyable, and I would come back and get either of these to go. The atmosphere is just not good, though. There are only five tables, and most are packed with wifi hogs. On top of that, the busy hallway leading to the rest of the building goes right through Jitters making it feel chaotic. The employee working was very friendly, but it didn’t make up for the lack of atmosphere. Overall, Jitters is good for a quick coffee to go.

Coffee shop called Jitters, have to order decaf. It would be nice to have a sign outside. Coffee is great and a lot of local characters in the morning. This may become my after yoga coffee place.

A lot of people who come here are regulars, and for good reason. The baristas are super friendly, and they really take the time to get to know you. They serve high quality coffee at a fair price, with excellent espresso, and talented baristas. They also have Dave & Andy’s ice cream available, which is delicious and local. Jitters is a great small business which also supports other local businesses. Check it out!

Staff is very friendly — made a specialty recommendation for me when I told them it was my first time in. I got an iced London Fog which is nothing short of delicious if you’re in the mood for something out of the ordinary! Drinks are served in real ceramics/glassware if they are for dine in, which is always a plus for me. Additionally, the atmosphere is light and airy. All the outside seating was(unfortunately) taken, but the inside was bright and had lots of natural light. Will return when in Shadyside next!

Really liked this place and the people who work here. Seems like a tight night family and friends operation. Décor is awesome. Out door seating in such a great city is always a bonus. Coffee is a cut above everyone who tries to be a cut above. Def recommend this place.

Nice little café. The young woman who helped me was friendly. Coffee was good. Pricey by my standards. Found the inside was a bit sterile. No, not cozy but def nice.

Great laid back atmosphere. Lots of regulars, and the staff are really friendly and know their coffee! Haven’t had anything here besides drinks, but I hear the ice cream is from Dave & Andy’s which I know is superb ice cream! Been here a few times to try and do work as well on my laptop. The internet is fast and fine… when there’s less than 4 laptops connected to it. Have been here a couple times when I’d constantly get kicked off of the network — frustrating. So if you’re looking for a café to spend a day in, sadly I wouldn’t recommend coming here, just because the connectivity is unpredictable.

The worker there was so nice. I had a child with me at the time and she made a little bit of a mess with a cookie. Who am I kidding, she made a huge mess. I asked for a broom to clean it up off the floor. The worker looked at me confused and was like, «thank you so much for offering, but we got it.» They were so nice about the child and the cookie that I went back the next day!(And ordered a less crumbly cookie.)

I came here to get an iced coffee to jumpstart my work day and was pleasantly surprised at how refreshing the coffee was. It had half the amount of ice a typical iced coffee from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts has and that’s what won me over. Iced coffee that becomes too watery too quickly ruins my coffee experience so thank you Jitters for making that! On top of this the blueberry muffin was delish. It had an over abundance of blueberries in it and was moist(gross word I know) on the inside. Will come again!

Of course it’s on Walnut Street so a pretty popular area and the location makes it an almost«must have coffee place». I had the café latte, the barista was very friendly, made a great lattee… the texture and foam was perfect. Would go back.

I really love this place. I have come in to get some work and writing done two days in a row and have enjoyed it. It’s small but tables are not too close together. Prices are great — quite low. Hot and iced teas are good. Service is good. Bagels taste fresh. Music is not too loud. Great natural light. My new favorite spot. Tons of people stop in for ice cream.

The friendliest staff, the best coffee and treats, the best prices for coffee in Shadyside. Everything tastes high quality and the employees clearly take pride in their work. They food they serve is wonderful — I love the chocolate chip cookies!

I just came back from a visit to Jitters, and it has totally changed in layout from how it used to be two years ago. The counter, which used to be against the wall on the Negley side, is now across from the main door on Walnut. I think the new layout is a lot better and more intuitive. While the space is bright, clean, and welcoming, it’s quite small, only containing six tables plus a few lounge chairs inside. I ordered a small cinnamon-cardamom herbal tea, and it was served nice and hot. I didn’t add anything to my tea, but condiments and napkins can be found across from the barista’s stand where you order. I also wanted a snack, so I decided to get a potato chip cookie, since(1) it looked the most appealing and(2) it sounded interesting! It was saltier and crispier than a regular cookie, but was still also sweet, and had a drizzle of chocolate icing on the top. While I liked the sweet-salty combination, I would have preferred for it to have been a bit sweeter to offset the extra salt – if there had been more icing, it would have been perfect. It was definitely different and interesting, and worth a try, though! Before I ordered, I overheard the barista saying to other customers that she didn’t know where the baked goods that they sell come from, which didn’t sit well with me.(If you read the other Unilocal reviews, you’ll see that they come from Prantl’s.) Employees should be informed about the product they’re selling. Having said that, she did describe the potato chip cookie accurately, which partially redeemed her.

I am definitely a fan of this place, as compared to all other coffee shops on Walnut, it is not packed. They have great coffee, and delicious homemade cookies etc. Their hot chocolate is the best. The only reason why I wouldn‘t give this place a 5 star is that their tables are super tiny, and because of the size of the place, if you are a group of more than 2 people, it is very hard to sit at the same table altogether. Great place to hang out while waiting for your table at Pamela‘s, especially when the weather is nice and you can grab a coffee and sit outside!

One of my favorite non-chain coffee shops in Pittsburgh. It is a small venue, yet there are usually some seats and tables open. However, I did have a lapse in judgment when I visited in the middle of the World Cup. They have a television set on one of the walls, so the place was packed; all the tables taken, seats being shared, and people standing, all fixated at the game. Anyways, their espresso drinks are great, their ice creams are heavenly, and their staff are very warm and nice. They provide free Wi-Fi, but the password changes occasionally. You need to ask the barista for the password. Speaking of which, the bathrooms also require a key code to enter, and they are different for the male and female bathrooms. Again, ask the baristas for these all-access passes. Overall, a great place to meet with friends, clients, your visiting relatives, or your next door neighbors. It’s also quiet enough to do some studying; however, their choice of music may be distracting occasionally. Bring some headphones just in case.

Quiet little spot at the end of Walnut street and my fav spot for doing a little work! I always get the same order of a cup of coffee, but all the other drink options look yummy as well! They also have a good assortment of baked goods and ice cream! And in my opinion, their coffee is better than Crazy Mocha or Coffee Tree. The space is bright and clean and the baristas are also really friendly.

Sorry folks, I’m not a fan. When out with my family we decided to get something frozen for a treat. The one good thing about this place is that it serves Dave & Andy’s ice cream. But that is possibly the only good thing about the place. There is no order in here. Especially with three possible ways to enter. The proper entrance at the front of the building, the side entrance or if and when the doors are open, walk right through the front of the store. With that, no one seems to know where the line starts, if there is a line at all for service. What should take just a few minutes to order your item easily turns into a good ten to fifteen minute wait staring down the person that just cut in front of you and several other people. The pricing seems a bit high here too. For two scopes of ice cream the cost was equivalent to going to a frozen yogurt place and getting a cup filled with not only frozen goodness, but mixture items as well. The place is nicely set up, but it does feel a bit crowded in here.
