The location is on 5th and if you blink, you might just miss it so keep your eyes peeled. Parking can be a little tricky too, especially with all of the ice at this time of year so plan to arrive early. My experience with black salons has been either really good or extremely terrible and, sadly, most have been extremely terrible. This place was really nice inside. They had an area they called the café with drinks available and there was a nice mix of R&B playing in the background which helped me slip into weekend sexy girl mode. Lol I really loved the vibe here. I booked an appointment with Tianna to get my face beat before a concert. From the initial contact to book through to the end of my appointment, she was very friendly, professional and on time. She greeted me with a smile and introduced herself to me. She took the time to do a real consultation before starting and asked relevant questions like what color I was wearing and what plans I had for the evening. I had sent her a few ideas I had in mind and she pulled them out and said all of them would be good for the type of evening I had planned. So, I chose a lot of color to change it up a bit and she immediately got to work. I liked how she checked in with me asking if I was okay and kept telling me no peeking. Lol She’s a classy girl and we enjoyed some very good conversation. The time came for the reveal and she spun me around in the chair to face the mirror. Wow… was that me? Like, really? I probably jumped a bit because the woman in the mirror looked quite different from the chic I see everyday. I was extremely happy and very impressed overall. I can’t wait until my next very very special occasion to glam it up again. I would like to also try some of their natural hair care services too… very soon! I’ll be sure to share the details of that visit too.

I have had the worst hair experience in my life at this salon. I had a wedding to attend the day after my hair appointment. My goal was to receive a deep condition and a blow dry and curl. The stylist suggested that I should get a trim. I agreed. But as I sat in the chair, I noticed that she began to cut and cut and cut. I asked her what she was doing and she stated that she was cutting for volume. Before I knew it, five inches of my hair was gone. My hair looked horrible for the wedding. At one point, I had to find chopsticks in an attempt to try to pull my hair up. I was so embarrassed. I spoke to the manager who was unwilling to provide a suitable remedy. The receptionist and the stylist were extremely rude. I have always had bra strap length hair and it will take at least a year and a half to grow back.
