Every time I come in to get my eyes checked there is a new part of the exam that isn’t covered by insurance. Although the charges are never that high I always feel like I’m being up-sold. Last year Dr Kamons charged both my vision and my medical insurance for the visit and I do NOT have any medical issues directly related to my eyes. Today I asked a question about the placement of the focus of my glasses(as I sometimes get migraines and my PCP just wanted this to be double-checked.) This resulted in her wanting to do additional tests(one at my cost) and her abruptly ending the exam when I told her no and that I will no longer be upsold. I’ve gone to her for many years because she’s a neighborhood business and I like to patronize my Regent Square folks, but I am now done. Also, she installed a new auto-reminder system that called, texted, AND emailed me reminders to schedule an appointment– a total of SEVEN times. This borders on harassment. My lenses have been good, which is why I am giving her 2 stars rather than one.

Only negative thing was the waiting area: it was small and had the most uncomfortable chairs. The staff was wonderful. Brie took her time helping pick the right glasses, even recruiting other staff to give their opinions. She was very professional and helpful.

I waited a bit long, but that’s because they were running behind that day. Seeing as I work in customer relations where that kind of thing happens all the time, I totally understood. All of their equipment is state-of-the-art; I felt like a robot was looking at my eyes, which was kind of awesome. The staff is very helpful and kind; they went out of their way to find glasses for me which didn’t make me look like a kid(I’m petite, so I sometimes buy kids’ glasses). The doctor is wonderful, too; she doesn’t rush, and she answered all of my questions. Also, I had been having trouble with my contacts, and it turns out my former doctor hadn’t given me contacts to correct my astigmatism. They gave me a good discount on the contacts, as well as free samples since my type of insurance only covers glasses. I really appreciate everything the staff did: they are a fantastic group of folks. If you’re in need of a good eye doctor, I highly recommend Eyes on Regent Square.

Nice selection of frames, generally helpful staff, horrible doctor. Worst experience I’ve ever had with any doctor of any kind, hands down. Belligerent and looking to pick a fight. Never encountered anything like it. I hope she finds peace in her life before she looses her business.

I went in for an eye exam today and had a very pleasant experience. I came in because a friend told me they were great. I’m surprised their Unilocal review doesn’t capture people’s opinions… Anyway, everyone in the office is really friendly, and made the process easy. I don’t have any major eye problems, but they listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. Since I’m a grad student, the eye care specialist was very patient while I tried on glasses and checked prices. I also asked to come back in 2 weeks since they were have a sale(50% off!) and they didn’t mind at all. I’ll definitely be coming back next year.

I think the staff is extremely courteous. They are always fun when I go in and thoroughly answer questions. I recently had LASIK and they were able to get me in for followup visit so I didn’t have to drive 5 hours for my follow up appointments. They charged me an extremely reasonable fee for these visits since they aren’t covered by insurance. I’ve seen both Doc’s there and they both answered my questions thoroughly and patiently. I’d highly recommend them to others.
