Environment and Energy Community Outreach Center

This is the most progressive building in Pittsburgh, but it’s especially nice for Larimer.
The ECCO Center is Eco-​friendly and well-​designed. The modern architecture is impressive because the colorful outside blends well with the natural portrait found outdoors. Further, during the public unveiling, the city’s political leaders spoke highly of the site. I was saddened that more in the city were not present during the ribbon-​cutting ceremony.
The people here are too pre-​occupied with traditional ways of thinking to notice a marvel of technological and social innovation. There’s still hope, with other activation projects in the works; perhaps, Larimer can experience an upswing in art, technology, and of course, community.
