I have had Michael as my Hair Stylist for many years… I live is State College Pa. And I work all over the country… I wait to see him! He understands my type of hair. Most importantly to me is that he is an amazing colorist! he understands my hair texture and my color tine.
I am happy to have him as my Stylist.
Our conversations are also amazing… As he travels the world he shares his travels.

After 2 of my favorite stylists left Mint Salon, and I’ve been roaming around trying to find somebody new in the neighborhood to cut my hair, I finally decided to give Avenue E a try.
Why Avenue E? Well, it had good ratings, and I saw that Tim K had received some education from Toni & Guy. Coincidence or not, I’ve had the best haircuts by stylists who have studied at Toni & Guy academies, so I thought maybe there is something to that.
The atmosphere in the salon is very nice. Bright, cool art, exposed brick, hardwoods. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Tim K was very friendly, listened to what I wanted from the haircut, looked at pictures, talked about options, and explained exactly what he was doing and why throughout the cut, confirming he was doing the right thing at each stage.
I wasn’t heavily pushed any products, but we did have a good discussion about different products’ ingredients and quality, shampoos, etc. It wasn’t a sales push at all, but more of a technical discussion to make sure I was happy with what I had. I wasn’t pushed to schedule my next appointment at some random interval. The price was right for the level of service.
The haircut was EXACTLY what I wanted, asked for, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I think I finally found my new place!

I was devistated when I lost Michael from Glam but am SUPER grateful that I found him again at Avenue E. I never, ever leave a Michael appointment disappointed. I always love my cut and syle! I like the new place. I felt at home instantly.

I love this place. And the people. I see Mikel (Connors) and have been for the last several years. I have a ton of hair and he has made great suggestions on ways to manage it, as well as cutting it to reduce volume (and frizz). It is also perfect for me because there is a good energy there, everyone is chatty, but I can either engage or just sit back and relax. The staff there also treat every customer like the are their own, and while I am loyal to Mikel, I would feel comfortable trusting the other staff as well.

I think my stylist was high or drunk. First, Jason cut his finger, but didn’t stop to put a bandage on, so I’m sure I had blood in my hair. Second, the cape was not tight, so I ended up having hair all over my shirt and sweater which was very itchy. My experience was overall very bad. The interaction was pretty uncomfortable. Unbelievably bad, actually.

Great feel to the whole place. I am a college student, and was very hesitant about trying somewhere away from home, that was not my normal stylist. I was so happy with the result! My cut is beautiful and exactly what I wanted done with my hair. I will definitely be going back to get it colored by them soon. Just one cut, and they have my complete and total trust with my hair

I am new to Avenue E as I followed the styling genius Michael Locke here from the always hectic Glam. Michael has managed my increasing difficult hair fabulously allowing me to defy age gracefully. He is the best!!!
I love the feel of Avenue E… very relaxing.

I have been getting my hair cut by Tim K. for 5 years or so and I couldn’t be happier. A great hair-​cut with engaging but casual conversation in an elegant atmosphere. You get all the good from a high-​end salon, without all the pomp and pretension. I am not a person who normally recommends things, but I will happily and confidently send anyone to Ave. E without hesitation.

For cuts & color definitely come here and see Jason!!! I’ve been with Jason for 2 years and am always in love with my look when I walk out the door. Jason has a very HIGH attention to detail and sets HIGH standards for his work.
I like to think of him as a color scientist. :-) I have pitch black hair and he’s been able to take me to a beautiful brunette with lovely caramel highlights to a sexy deep cherry cola red. His cuts are always super clean and fresh.
I completely trust him with my hair. I’ve definitely shown up a few times and said, I want something new — just go for it. He knows what will suit my face and personality and never disappoints.
He works hard to please his clients and has definitely stayed late for me. And it also doesn’t hurt that Jason has an awesome personality!
