Good to have a place to get cheap cashews, and great salad — just wish the rest of their products were as healthy or fresh. Great place for cheap party snacks for a once in a while event, but not bulk shopping for daily meals: It’s astounding the amount of salt, sugar, and fat(mostly unhealthy fats) and additives — like there’s practically nothing there that doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup or cane sweetener in it. And the ham was full of gristle and little bits of bone. The chicken is all frozen/half-thawed. Says nothing about what they were fed. And much of the fruit was so green when it was picked it often never ripens, just goes bad. That being said, their whole– head Artisan Salad boxes are great for those who want salad to stay fresh long enough for 1 – 2 people to eat it all.(Simply wash the container and rinse whole heads, peeling off any damaged leaves, cut 1⁄8 inch off the stalks, put ¼ inch spring water in plastic box and replace heads. We’ve had them stay fresh in the fridge this way for six weeks as a busy schedule precluded eating at home enough or they got pushed to the rear of the bottom shelf). Another great buy, their«Willow» toilet paper truly rocks.(Soft rock, of course.)

My boyfriend and I made it out to this new Aldi location finally! I was a loyal Aldi shopper growing up, but he’d never been to one. He loved it, and since it’s less than a five minute drive from our house I know we’ll be frequent customers here. The space was laid out pretty much like all mid-size Aldis I’ve been in. It goes from snacks when you first walk in to meats and frozen foods at the other end, with produce in the middle and deli food along the back wall. Everything was clean and new. There were plenty of home goods in one aisle, and I hope they end up getting fun plants in stock like some of the other locations have. As always the food prices can’t be beat! Greek yogurts for 84 cents, real vanilla for $ 1.99, and cans of pumpkin for 89 cents.(Hello holiday baking!) I’m so glad Aldi has arrived in my neighborhood, I know I’ll be doing my food shopping here and at Trader Joe’s for the foreseeable future.
