A couple of friends and I had the pleasure of staying at the Homestead Modern I in September. This place is truly a hidden gem if you’re planning a visit to Joshua Tree National Forest and/or Pioneertown, in particular. Everything was immaculate and so much attention was given to detail, such as the All-clad pans in the kitchen, blankets for outside, indoor and private outdoor showers, lavender hand soap and shower gel, laundry facilities, towels/robes, etc. Of course, if you don’t want to cook indoors, you can grill outside while enjoying the amazing views of the desert. For a few stressed out city slickers, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue to decompress. It’s not that far from Joshua Tree National Park, and just minutes away from Pappy and Harriet’s, a famous BBQ joint down the road with live music that serves killer drinks and amazing food(hello, pork chops!). Although we never got to meet the owner in person, he was friendly and quick to respond to any of our inquiries. This place definitely set the bar and my expectations for accommodations in the high desert area!
