Quite a nice site. The main mound, which I think is called«Saul’s Mound,» is 72 feet tall and comparatively steep, relative to other mounds I’ve seen in the SE. The rest of the grounds are wonderfully maintained– green grass, a very nice picnic area/playground for kids, and superb riding/walking trails. The museum was quite informative with some excellent artifacts, as well as a complete explanation of the history and excavation of the site. Woman at the front desk was very friendly, sharing details of the area and helping with the very reasonably priced items in the gifts shop. A must-see site for fans of archaeology, or a superb site to visit with family. We really enjoyed it– thanks!
