I ordered ahead so I wouldn’t have to wait, but I ended up waiting longer than if I hadn’t(15 minutes). When I asked for my order, they didn’t let me know it would take so long. No explanations. The pizza itself is so-so. Very thin crust. You can pick as many toppings as you want. I won’t be going back.

MOD Pizza. Similar to Pieology, Blaze, Pizza Rev, and all those other pop-up Chipotle style pizza shops! For about $ 9, you can make your own personalized pizza with unlimited toppings! I love their variety of sauces(white sauce, red sauce, pesto + more!) and their toppings are fresh as well! I loved that they had whole roasted garlic and roasted peppers. Everything is properly labeled as well, which I find very helpful! If you’re not feeling creative, they have some pizza combinations on the wall as well that you can order. If you want any extra toppings to the pre-determined pizzas you can add them at no extra cost. They also have pizza salads(pretty much like salad on top of flatbread), and salads. Lastly, don’t forget to look at the sauce choices for post-pizza cooking! I love the balsamic fig(goes well with the white sauced pizzas!) The service is great — they’re very attentive and patient. If you want more of anything, just ask! The location is also pretty clean and can accommodate larger groups because they have some long tables. *Tip* While it’s unlimited toppings, please be aware that if you pile it up into a small mountain, some of the toppings make not cook thoroughly!

OVERPRICED!!! $ 11 for sub-par pizza and drink To start I didn’t like the Subway style service. It felt a bit to rushed, and the girl making my pizza was talking way too fast to understand. So i ordered simple cheese pizza w/jalapenos, cilantro, and a drink. The crust of the pizza I received was, the closest to cardboard I have ever seen. It was also burnt on the bottom from being cooked to fast.

First time eating here and honestly it went pretty good. I loved that you can get charge the size of the pizza but have all the toppings you want. Pizza was a bit burnt but overall delicious and the only reason why I give it 4 stars is because it seemed like they had a specific amount to give on toppings so it was not a lot. But overall it was delicious I’m coming back for sure!

Let me start by saying that I frequent this establishment very often. I have tried many combinations of pizzas from the Maddy all the way to the build your own. Now I am writing this review based on my most recent experience. First, I get salads at least 3 times a week because of the convenience of taking it to work plus they allow me to get any toppings on both pizzas and salads but today I left the line feeling pretty disappointed. Second, the advertising clearly shows«any toppings you want, same price.» And I always just order a mini because It usually fills me up. So today, I did my usual order of a mini salad but as I moved through the line I felt an increasing amount of anxiety and judgement through one particular lady. The other workers were all kind except for this one. She might have been the manager because she was aggressively demanding the rest of the workers to do this and do that. The moral seemed very low as she stepped on the line and further more when she angrily micro managed. Anyways, as I was being«helped» by my assumed manager, I went on asking for toppings«any way I wanted» and felt demoralized as I kept adding. Now I understand that obviously they don’t want to waste inventory but I don’t understand how I can have a dip in customer service and effort. The manager seemed annoyed as I added toppings and rudely told me that she can only put whatever fits into the bowl(more on «putting what fits in the bowl» later). Again, I totally understand that you don’t want to waste inventory but why not just give less amount of lettuce to start off with if I order a mini. Or better yet why not just use a different size bowl all together. OR just practice the obvious training that the other employees recieved in customer service(remember, I go here often and have been treated amazingly) and just be nice. I just can’t imagine that being led by someone who brings a culture of meanness can be good for production and moral. I lead a team of 150 leaders and employees so I understand trying to get the most production out of my subordinates. Being snippy and mean lowers moral and productivity. Overall I plan to come back and get the food but I will try my best not to offend the lady because it is my job to make her day the most smooth and efficient as possible. P. s. here is my «putting what fits into the bowl» salad.(Remember I get this salad often and it is completely packed and noticeably heavy) notice the empty space at the top. Oh yea she threw away a third of the salad away to prove a point to her employees that she does not play games or enjoy making customers feel good

I love, love, love this place. It’s like the Subway of pizza. I like how I get to customize my pizza and only have to pay one price no matter how many toppings I order. I’m a creature of habit so I almost always order the same thing — mod size with red sauce, extra mozzarella, garlic rub, spicy italian sausage, chorizo, and pepperoni. I like that my pizza is made to order, the crust thin and crispy, the size perfect, and the price reasonable. MOD has become our go-to pizza place. We’ve introduced it to a few relatives and friends and they all love it! By the way, if you plan to share, I suggest NOT ordering the mega. Our friends made the mistake thinking it would be a bigger pizza only to realize it’s just the same size as the mod, only with a double crust(they overlooked the description). They would have been better off just ordering 2 minis which they could have customized to their own taste and would have turned out cheaper as well.

My friends and I decided to come here for dinner one night & I was very satisfied with the visit. At first, I thought, «oh thin slices…» But actually, the pizzas were very good! Each one of us got a personal pizza to ourselves, and they were really huge. This place has many selections to choose from; it’s actually quite overwhelming. LOL Prices are very reasonable. The place is pretty spacious too. Can’t wait to go again in the near future.

Decent thin crust pizza. Not awesome, but OK. And it’s fun being able to point at toppings to mix things up… actually seeing them rather than reading them from a menu makes it easier to visualize various items on the pizza. The crust is essentially like a cracker, so if you’re a fan of the perfectly charred New York thin crust, this ain’t it. Good value, though. Whatever toppings you choose, the price remains a reasonable $ 7-something for an individual pie.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. Enjoy coming here with my family. Pizza and salad is good and a great price. Tonight there was a jackass customer who received a free pizza because of something that happened his last visit. While waiting he helped himself to some lemonade but didn’t pay for it. He spoke with the manager and seemed unhappy about the conversation. He then proceeded to bug the young man behind the counter making pizzas on what the managers name was and stated he would call district manager on the lady he spoke to. People need to not go out if they are expecting to get special treatment. I hope the manager lady does not get a call about this from her bosses.

I used to go to Pieology to create your own pizza, but I find this place much better! Reasonable and comparable price to Pielogy. Ingredients are fresh to choose from for your toppings. Any pizza toppings for the same price which is a very good deal. They even have pizza salad you can create. Friendly staff, but the service is a bit slow. The store needs to find a way to speed up the pizza ordering because it takes awhile longer before you can order and create the pizza you want. Aside from this, the pizza taste great every time I order here!

Well, Laurel G. might have been behind me because I’m THAT customer that holds up the line. I LOVE the way i can order my pizza or salad(or pizza salad) with whatever i want! Made On Demand. More cheese? YES more cheese, please? Tonight I actually apologized to the folks in line behind me because of how long I took to order. They let me try the beer first before I committed. Attention to detail. What’s not to love? Folks should be more patient. Sorry Laurel. Not MOD’s fault your service was slow. It’s cuz their customers are holding you up.

A few months ago I would have given MOD PIzza 5 stars! No problem. But my last visit was so problematic, I have to knock them back. The pizza is good — no doubt. The prices are good. But the service was a nightmare on our visit last night. First, we’d waited a fair amount of time in line to order. This was at about 5:30 on a Thursday night. We get to the front of the line and someone appears with sheets of paper with«internet orders» on them. And the guy making pizza has to do those first before the people standing in line. What? It was 2 pizzas and 2 salads and it took a long time. We’d already been standing there for a long time. I’ve run a retail business and always told my employees that the person at the counter was the most important person in the world. This was downright rude. We finally got the pizzas ordered, went to the register and stood there for 10 plus minutes! No one seemed to be in charge of ringing people out! One woman flew by and apologized for the wait, but didn’t do anything to help. We finally paid and sat down — about a half hour at this point btw. And when we got our pizzas they were actually room temp. Not fresh out of the oven hot. They’d obviously sat on the counter for some time to be that cold. I don’t know what happened to this place, but they’re no longer on my to-go list. Bad experience.

had my first visit here today. i had always heard this place was great but never tried until now. I wish I got the name of the girl who helped me! she was so nice and explained their whole system to me. she made sure I got everything I wanted on the pizza. super helpful. the cashier(Alberto) was also really nice. he couldn’t wait on me immediately and apologized for me having to wait! it wasn’t even that long of wait but he was so courteous. super excited to try the pizza, super satisfied with the customer service!

I always get the Mod pizza(either to share or single serving) and each time it’s like find a gem. I never get tired of this place but love it more cutting the summer time. For some reason Mod Pizza reminds me of Shakey’s Pizza when I was a kid. Highly recommend this place for pizza lovers for you can build your own.

Pretty similar to the concept of Pieology but it does have some differences. In terms of ingredients they have some different ones but they also have the classics like pepperoni and mozzarella. It’s a assembly line type of place where you get to different sections like cheese, sauces, meats, veggies, etc. You get to pick and choose any amount of toppings you want if you get the make your own. Which I always do. Might as well since it’s the same price for 3 toppings as it is for 10. For drinks I usually will get the fountain drinks. I get their lemonade which is regular or this berry one which is also good. They also have sweet tea. Regular and pear which is interesting. I usually make an arnold palmer and mix and match the flavors. My favorite is the regular lemonade with the pear tea. Price is comparable to Pieology but it’s so much closer to the Richmond area so It’s a very good place to come. A fine addition to all the new businesses popping up on Pinole Valley Rd.

Good pizza, great pricing, lots of good toppings, friendly customer service. Basically, you pick ANY and ALL toppings you want(that’s right, ALL). They do have a menu of pizza combinations you can pick from(and modify, if you’d like), but why not get creative and create your own! This place can be a bit untidy(especially behind the pizza-making counter), but all in all it’s a good place for pizza. Enjoy!

I usually love MODS pizza. The idea of building your own pizza, the atmosphere etc. But the last 2 days have been a real miss. From the product quality to the customer service . I always get a white sauce pizza. But that night the white sauce was really chunky. Like cottage cheese chunky. I know what it looks like, since I get it all the time. And this time it didn’t look like how it usually looks. So I had my first red sauce pizza. Which was actually really good . We came in at 9ish and to dine in. While eating, a man started to preclose the dining area, sweeping and piling up the chairs. Mind you, there are a handful of families still dining in. He was slamming chairs 2 feet away from us ! It made us feel like we were being rushed out . We came back tonight because my boyfriend fell in love with their roasted Brussels sprouts topping. When he placed his order, he ordered a mod size, red sauce pizza with EXTRA basil. The man making his pizza put red sauce but my boyfriend felt like it wasn’t enough so asked for more(again mods is a build your own, as many toppings as you like kind of pizza place). So he proceeded to ask the guy for more red sauce. The guy looked at him with an annoyed look, didn’t say anything and put a tiny bit more red sauce. then as he started putting the basil he ranted to his coworker beside him how my boyfriend wanted extra basil even though there was basil in the red sauce. What did it matter to him? Is it his pizza? No. So why criticize someone’s choice of toppings… INFRONTOFTHECUSTOMER. I work in the food industry where I deal with a lot of customers and that is not the way to make a customer feel valued . I’m not one to write reviews often and it really sucks because I love mods pizza but the customer service has gone down hill since they first opened. Obviously I will continue to go mods and hopefully receive better service. I eventually want to update this semi bad review to a good one. I want to support my local businesses.

Supposed to be a «fast food» quick service place however it took me twenty minutes to get my pizza. I walked in, short line in front of me, two people. Made my order, and four people behind me in line got their food first. There are too many cooks in the kitchen. Eight people stand behind the counter without any organization or system they take your order. Confusion, chaos and attitude is the vibe I got and received from the staff here. It was my second visit, in attempts to reconcile the poor customer service I had experienced the first time around.

I think my family eats here almost every week(so guilty). I didn’t understand the concept when I first came here, but it’s basically a Subway/Chipotle style pizza joint. There are menu combinations on the wall, but you basically build your own pizza with whatever sauces and ASMANY toppings as you want. Prices are only determined by the size you get(mini, MOD and mega). Mini is good for a kid, MOD for a really hungry adult and mega for two adults. The crust is thin and ingredients pretty fresh. If you’re a first timer and still don’t get the system, just ask. All the employees are pretty cool and friendly. One thing I’ve never seen is the pizza salad item. It’s a salad(still your choice of greens and mix-ins) on top of a MOD crust. If you get in, I’d recommend putting pesto and garlic on the crust before they bake it. Yum! They also offer their own lemonades and ice teas, in addition to the standard fountain sodas. My hubby loves the caramelized pear iced tea, and I usually go for the berry lemonade. Overall, it’s a great go-to for a quick, freshly made and relatively inexpensive family dinner.

Service is slow and perhaps it’s because they were short staffed? They are pretty good at spreading the toppings evenly, but I wish they put the sauces towards the outer side of dough rather than focusing on the center. Don’t limit yourself when you come here, your choices are limitless. You can add more than 1 sauce and you have an assortment of toppings!!! After they bake the pizza, you can choose a sauce to drizzle on top of the pizza! Sir-ancha is THEONE! I love thin crust and their was crunchy goodness! I would only say that their service can be a little quicker and more efficient — otherwise I’d pick this place over pieology any day!!!
