This place SUCKSBIGTIME as far as cleanliness and order. They receive a FAIL in both categories. One of my two stars is because the staff is so nice in such a MESS :-) The other star is because it’s Toys R Us and our son is 1 and he was able to be a Kid with no regards all through that MESS of a store. Don’t get me wrong I know a toy store will be messy with all the children making the mess BUT the mess was on another level both of our visits like its the norm and is never cleaned I saw the same trash up one aisle that I saw on our previous visit a couple of weeks prior. Let’s be clear this is a TOY store and frequent by plenty of children and adults buying for children CLEAR? So WHY on Gods GREEN Earth does the bathrooms look and smell like a Port O John? Also if employers MUST wash hands before returning to work WHY is the soap dispenses EMPTY& look as if they were NEVER used by anyone which means the door is full of germs YUCK. I wish there was a more up to date and clean Toys R Us nearby to take our son too.

This Toys R Us has the worst customer service I have experienced in a big box store in years. We drove an hour to get to the nearest Toys R Us to redeem gift cards for our kids. The store would not cash out the remaining balance on the gift cards. I asked for the manager. The staff and manager treated me with contempt and refused to give me cash for the balance of the cards. I appealed to them, noting that the only way to get the full balance of the card is to spend more than the value of the card. I offered two solutions. First, I offered to buy something and return it to allow them to give me a cash refund. They refused, saying they had to give the refund in the form if another gift card. Then I offered to buy another gift card for another retailer that they sold in the store. They refused, noting I couldn’t buy a gift card for a gift card. They did not offer any solution at all, only rudely telling me it was corporate policy. Convenient.

Lord.Jesus. I will echo what people have been saying about this location for years — trash in the parking lot, broke-down building, at least 12 dead-eyed employees re-stocking and cleaning the store, 2 overwhelmed women working returns AND checkouts. I received a $ 50 gift card for Toys R Us so I ordered crayons and coloring books online(don’t judge me) and they arrived at my door in a shipping envelope with the crayon box open and broken crayons ruining everything in the bag. Shit. I go to the store and was second in line and the already frazzled woman quickly got my refund stuff done before the long line of after-Christmas returns started after me. Painless, right? I wandered the store, since my refund was a merchandise credit, and it was just slightly cooler than the 7th circle of hell. Charlotte weather has been crazy, but I had boob sweat after about 3 minutes. You can’t get in the mood to buy Legos with boob sweat. Picked up a few puzzles, passed no less than 10 employees who had the beaten down look of people who had survived a retail job selling toys at Christmas. Bless their souls. Waited in line for 15 minutes behind 3 people, while 1 lady was doing all of the returns and sales. I asked another employee if this was indeed the only line open, to which she replied yes. I said«I’m done», put my puzzles back and GTFO. The store was well stocked enough for just about anything a kidlet would need. DVD’s are about twice what you would pay at Target. Large selection of Legos. Many games. Bring your patience and a cold beverage. This is why amazon is killing big box retailers… I get all of the toys I want and no boob sweat.

I’m sick of this parking lot being perpetually littered with trash. I understand that’s it’s hard to reinvest in an old building, but cleaning up the lot is easy, low-hanging fruit. The message to me is management must be blind & ignorant.

Terrible service. Wasnt even able to complete an order there. It was like the clerk was making fun of me or something. So weird. The mngr lied to me about the meaning of a coupon. It was like they didnt want to be bothered to ring things up and get people out of there.

Always very helpful in this location. The employees really seem to care about helping customers. Store is always clean and well stocked. Today we picked out a 16″ bike for my youngest. Time to get home and ride!

This store needs a makeover of more than just the building. It needs new staff starting with the manager. When they don’t care, the employees don’t care. For a store that considers itself a specialty store, I expect to receive service that is better than Walmart.

I’ve got to jump on the bandwagon, here. This store has been here for a long time and really needs a refreshment. The outside is old and dilapidated and could stand a new coat of paint. The inside serves it’s purpose but the shopping carts are rusty and old school. There also never seems to be enough staff around at checkout. Other than that, they have toys and that’s what you’re there for.

LOL! I love how everybody refers to this location’s creepy feel. It does seem to bring the ol’, «One two, Freddy’s coming for you, three four, you better lock your door» thing to mind. Sure the place is a bit dated and dillapidated, but it gets the job done. The selection is plentiful and fairly priced. The prices are going to be a bit more than places that aren’t specifically«toy stores,» but you came to a toy store for a larger selection of toys… didn’t you? The customer service has always been a bit hit or miss here. Sometimes the workers are hanging out like extras on a movie set… and at other times… they’re stalking you like a bum in a liquor store. Toys R Us usually gets my patronage around Christmas time. It serves its purpose and I don’t really have any complaints about it.

The parking lot is dark and scary. There were rusty carts strewn about. Boxes and toys were all over the floor in the store. I went twice in the past week and they had one register open with four other people doing nothing both times. First cashier wasn’t friendly but the most recent one was. The prices were okay. I had a Groupon for the first visit and 15% off for the second. The store needs a major overhaul and some employees who care.

This is a solid location for Toys R Us, but the building itself does appear to be on the downside of it’s useful life. It might even be living on borrowed time. A good power washing could help, or it could start poking holes in the walls and then they would just have to tear it down. If this location were in South Park, it probably would have been razed already since it is a bit of an eyesore. Then again, if it were in South Park, it would probably carry some sort of overpriced baubles rather than the row after row of only slightly expensive toys that we all know and love. Enjoy it for what it is.

I found this location to be a little creepy. From the outside it reminded me of an old abandoned warehouse. On the inside it’s kind of junky and dingy looking. TrU and BrU generally have poor customer service and screwy coupon/return rules. This was no exception. Would much rather shop at Buy Buy Baby. It’s clean, great customer service and useful coupons that actually give considerable savings.

I got a stroller from here for my daughter that was delivered from Atlanta, GA and not a thing was wrong with it. I didn’t have any problems, I just gave them my name and they got it from the back. They are very friendly, and helpful. I also got Christmas gifts for my daughter and others on a separate occasion with no problems, everything they advertised was there, and the correct price. I got in and out. Didn’t spend over a penny more than my planed budget. I was so excited. lolol.
