Usually one of my favorites, Mikado was not up to their marks today. Everything we ate was SMOTHERED in one sauce or another. General Tso’s chicken was almost too sweet to eat! I’ll try again next time because it is one of my favorites and the place to go for an enjoyable meal in one of their private dining areas.

I currently reside in New Orleans, LA and was only here for two weeks for my military training which is located literally a minute away from Camp B. Since our room didn’t have a kitchen to work on, we are forced to eat out. and sushi have always been my favorite. I visited this place twice, my first one along with my coworkers was a good experience only because our server, Joseph was the best server we’ve had and that is the only reason why i am giving this place 2 stars. tonight, my coworkers and I went back to this place to celebrate our last week of job training. we expected joe to be there, but he wasn’t. that didn’t drive us away, because we were seated immediately. our server, Chao(i think that was his name), immediately took our drink orders and that is the only good thing since everything went downhill from there *Even though we were waiting for our 2 coworkers he didn’t come back to see if we wanted some appetizers while we wait for the rest of our party to show up. Instead, about 10 minutes later he asked if we are still waiting. So… i asked if he can put in an order of fried calamari. **Fried calamari came out and it did not look like the fried calamari I’m used to seeing in just about every sushi house i have been in the past. I still tried and it was surprised by how salty the batter they used to this poor squid. We then flagged our server since he has yet to be back to ask hows everything, to tell him that our fried calamari was too salty for its kind. Miss Lady boss(i think she was the manager) took the plate with a sour face and continued on with her business leaving me wondering if they’re going to ask me if i want anything else or what not. 5 minutes passed and i decided to flag her to tell her that i no longer want the calamari, and her witty comeback was and i quote«I don’t know why you didn’t like it, it wasn’t that salty. all restaurants make it the same. we all do it like that» and walked away. ***I ordered the hibachi chicken since i wanted a full meal. when i finally got it, i was disappointed, i mean very from its presentation to its taste disappoints me to the bone. the noodles was wet, the chicken was soaked in a sauce which is a TERIYAKI sauce. last time i checked i ordered HIBACHI, not TERIYAKI. the fried was steamed rice with peas and carrots. it was disappointing that i couldn’t eat it. i don’t like to waste food but even though i want to take that back to my room i will not eat it. and during the time we were all there we have to flag our server for refill. which is very bad service. I did not come there to eat only to be discounted. i didn’t ask for no military discount. i paid full price for my meal but my service was not to its standard that joseph has set. If i ever to come back to Camp B, I will make sure that joseph was there and only order sushi. for the price i pay none of my food and the service was worth it.

Fantastic find. We stopped here for lunch and what a pleasant suprise! The fried salmon was the star of the menu. We ordered tempura and gyoza for appetizers. Gyoza was cooked to perfection. Will stop here again when I am passing through Louisiana. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Have been to many Japanese restaurants in Houston and surrounding area, this ranks up with them.

So who knew this place was in Pineville? What a nice surprise. They offer a great selection of sushi, hibachi and Asian fusion. A very nice, quiet place. The hibachi was good but I would have preferred veggies over the noodles, as there was already some very tasty fried rice. Otherwise, this will be a favorite and we will be back.

Heard many good things about the steak and sushi bar so my wife wanted to go for her birthday. At 6:30 on a Wednesday evening we show up and get a seat right away. Excellent so far. Waitress comes over and takes out drink order. So far so good but down hill from here. She can barely speak English and my wife tells her that we have never been to eat here before and asks what is good she doesn’t know what to say… wow. Salad before the meal is a joke. My order came out before my wife’s and drink refills took forever. Needless to say this for me was a crash and burn experience. My dinner was good but the fried rice was awful. I won’t be back

Came highly reviewed from friends but a bit bruised by my recent visit. Largely a great visit but two noteworthy things 1) The yellowfin the day I went was sub-par. I’ve eaten enough sushi around the world to know the difference. 2) staff not educated. couldn’t tell me if I was getting fake or real wasabi(look it up, you’ve probably never actually had REAL wasabi). Still I did enjoy myself that visit, everything else was very good and seemed fresh. worth a visit

They have the best Sushi. The restaurant is clean and the servers are so sweet and helpful. I personally love the Melrose Roll as well as the Steak and Scallop entrée.

What a pleasant find in Pineville, La. The main reason I stopped here was because of a place(now closed) with the same name in Monroe, La. Although the lady said they weren’t connected alot of the décor is similar to the place in Monroe. Either way the food is just as good. The under control sushi roll is just out of this world. Some of the best I’ve ever had. The tempura is also very good. Great food, service and okay prices l’ll be back

Mikado’s in Pineville is an excellent little sushi joint. My coworkers and I eat here at least once a month, and we’re always pleased with the food and the service. The sushi is great here, and it’s cool that they have box lunches too for people who aren’t into sushi or sashimi. They have a great selection of special rolls, and they also have the classics such as California, spicy tuna, and Philadelphia. The presentation is pretty good too. I also like the prices here; it’s a bit cheaper than Sake Sushi in downtown Alex. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for some good quality Japanese food at a reasonable price. The people that work here are also very friendly, which really does make a difference.

Absolutely love their cooked sushi!!! This is the only place I eat sushi. Their combination fried rice is good too. Nice place and nice people.
