A Taste for Life

I happened by this place in the Pineville Mall and decided to check out some of its wares. Kevin did a great job of introducing me to his offering of Spanish cuisine. I decided to get two different types of Spanish chorizo (as I have always been a fan of the stuff we get here) and an Italian moscato. I LOVE the chorizo, both types. I can slice it and eat it as an hors d’oeuvres or chop it up into chunks and cook my scrambled eggs in it. (picture enclosed of that dish) I like how firm it is and the flavor is rich, and very mellow. It really doesn’t compare to domestic chorizo.
The wine was great too! When my wife has had a tough day I pour a glass of this sweet, slightly bubbly moscato, super-​chilled, into a glass (picture enclosed) and send her out to the hammock. Happy wife, happy life!
What I didn’t get a picture of was the tuna that Kevin had me sample. Now listen, I hate tuna. I don’t want it in a salad, or on bread, or in a casserole. Its not good. But because he was insistent I relented. Wow! I thought I was eating a different meat all together. This was firm, moist and mildly sweet. Nothing like the fishy, mushy crap we get in the grocery store here. He tells me that they put only the best cuts of meat in it, which, by the taste of it, I am inclined to believe. Go try this tuna, especially if you hate the tuna you have always eaten here in the states.

Kevin Connors is a delightful individual who brings the best of Spanish wines, olive oils, vinegar, and meats etc. etc. to our area. He operates from a kiosk for now but has a wonderful website with many videos full of information about what he offers. This stuff is awesome as it is directly shipped to him straight from Spain. He hand picks all of his products and is only those things which he knows is good to offer to the rest of us. You gotta drop by the Mall and check him out. They will offer samples of just about everything that they have to offer which we enjoyed tremendously. The olive oil is very fresh and great for all your cooking and dipping needs as well as the vinegar is great for salads and marinades. The wines are so good you will be coming back for more and more. Most definitely 5 stars and would give it more if allowed. Thanks Kevin for helping the wife and I by expounding our palates and knowledge of some of Spain’s finest offerings.
