Today I was at the Magnolia football fields watching nephews from both sides of the family play against each other in their league Super Bowl(very Magnolia thing to do, I know), when I got a call from a very close friend of mine and Jamie’s. She was on the way to a shower for my new daughter when she was rear-ended at 1774 and Spur 149 at the light. She was fine, but her car had to be towed, she was shaken up and crying, and I was the closest person to her. I left the game, drove to Pinehurst Country Store/Exxon(pictured), and gave her a hug and stood with her while she spoke with the police and tow truck drivers. While I’m standing there, the owner comes out, walks over to us, and tells us we need to move because we were costing him business… We hadn’t been there more than 15 minutes. To be fair, my truck, the State Trooper, and the two tow trucks were all blocking one lane of pumps apiece. However, there were no vehicles waiting to get in, no line, and there were open pumps. I told him as much and he still insisted we move. I told him he was going to lose customers in a different way now, and I will never go there again. What kind of a difference could he have made if he would have walked out with hot coffee and water, asking if everyone was ok, asking if we needed anything? I would have been his biggest fan and this would be a different post. Not asking all of y’all to do the same, but I know how to vote with my dollars, and this place will be getting zero votes from me and my family.
