Elite Event: Moe’s Pilgrimage to Pinecrest

I enjoyed myself so much at this event that I returned the subsequent Saturday at 4 in the morning!
Why did I do this? is it because the burritos are wonderful and the quesadillas are exquisite. Queso. Salsa bar and chips.

I’ve always been a fan of Moe’s so I was very happy to see that we were having an event at the new location and that it is so close to home! I arrived and was happy to see that the staff was promptly getting everyone drinks. I got a margarita and caught up with some of my favorite Unilocalers.
Once we were settled in, the hosts from Moe’s introduced themselves, the venue, and all the delicious courses we would be trying. We started with the chips and salsa, guacamole, and queso dip. Everything was delicious. Then we tried the chicken club quesadilla, the beef tacos, and burritos… It felt like the food was never ending. Everything was very tasty, and the staff was really proud to keep us all happy by offering extra food if we wanted. As if all this wasn’t enough, they even offered to give us anything we wanted off the menu to take home! Thank you so much Moe’s! This will definitely be a go-​to spot for me.
Also, thank you to Cassie for organizing this event and for the lovely Unilocal notebook! I went home full and happy!

Great, so I’m even starting to procrastinate on writing. What am I supposed to tell you now that I’m almost a week late? Musicians, Outlaws and Entertainers? Welcome to MOE’s?
This was my 4^th Unilocal event, first elite. When I walked in I freaked out a bit for a few different reasons. 1) I had Moe’s confused with a different restaurant so the fast-​food mex-​tex caught me off guard. 2) Margaritas — Apparently elite events keep it classy. 3) Everyone was sitting down… what? How am I supposed to talk to every single person at the event? Luckily, I scored a seat at my FAV table. Don’t worry, you’re all my favorites, it’s actually an acronym for Frank, Angelo and Veronica. Well, OK, maybe they were my favorite of favorite tables.
There was an absurd amount of food and drinks flying around. I had never been to Moe’s before but if what they were serving up for this event was a representation of their «Norm», then we need more of theses joints, STAT! Chips, dip, chicken guac quesadilla, «Joey bag of donuts» burrito (no guac), ground beef and pork tacos — It was all good. My favorite thing was the simplest of all though… The queso dip. At the end of the event while everyone else was getting a week worth of burritos to go, I just snagged a bucket of queso dip and chips.
The Moe’s crew and fellow Unilocalers put on a few shows. Jason, one of the regional managers for Moe’s showed us their super secret quac recipe and how to roll a burrito — so, basically everything we need to open a Moe’s spinoff. Karen, Moe’s intercontinental master trainer (ok i forgot her title), gave us more of a history and philosophical run down. There was a burrito rolling contest between Unilocalers Michael and Nancy. Michael kept letting out what i can only describe as «Samurai grunts» as he rolled his burrito which i found hilarious. Michael, Nancy, Veronica and Tony? ended up snagging free burritos for a year, Lucky!
There’s so much more to say but at this point some Unilocalers might be sick of my «fillers» so I’ll close with a THANKS A BUNCH for almost feeding me to death Moe’s and Cassie! It’s kind of a bummer that i didn’t get to interact with more Unilocalers but I’m sure I’ll see you all around!

Although Moe’s wasn’t yet open to the public, they were gracious enough to let us sneak an early taste at their newest location in Pinecrest. The staff was attentive and lively from beginning to end. I agree with Veronica that you can feel the energy at this place from the moment you walk in! The delicious smell does its part to draw you in too…
In terms of food, abundance is an understatement. From being greeted with drinks (beer or margarita, anyone?) to endless mounds of crispy chips with indulgent dips (guacamole, salsa verde and queso), all the way to the main dishes, where we sampled tacos, quesadillas and burritos, stuffed with either chicken, beef or pork (and they were accommodating to vegetarian folks too). You could tell everything was made fresh, seasoned to perfection and the portions were generous too. Loved the salsa bar, and the seasonal honey sriracha sauce in particular.
Aside from the meal, I loved learning fun facts about Moe’s — like what it stands for (musicians, outlaws and entertainers), that their products don’t contain MSG or GMOs, and that there are no freezers or microwaves! They have great art on the walls too.
I feel like I had enough Moe’s to last a week! The food never seemed to end and although I was very full, I just couldn’t stop. On top of everything they had already served, and the fact that they provided beer & margaritas which they don’t have at Moe’s, we went home with a complimentary custom order (which I happily chowed down for lunch the next day). This was a great first Elite event and I love my phone charger. So grateful to Cassie and to the whole Moe’s staff, who were beyond friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. Just another wonderful Unilocal event with my fellow elites. Well to start off, let me let you in on a little funny secret. I read the dates wrong and showed up to this event the day before, that was a great laugh. Anyhow when I finally arrived to this event on the correct date, of course I was greeted by Cassie. I was then told to sit anywhere and I loved how I didn’t know anyone at my table (even though I didn’t know everyone looked familiar) I had the best time. Everyone was so nice and we all laughed and ate and drank. I have to say that Patrick, Karen, and Jason, all from Moe’s, are incredibly kind and heavily informative. I had no idea that Moe’s stood for Musician Outlaw Entertainers. And that the only music played are from all great artists that have passed. Same with the paintings on the wall.
We started off on beer or margherita’s. I chose a Corona and then a Dos Equis (this beer is delish, no bitter after taste at all). Then they began to stuff us with the best chips and queso, guacamole, and cilantro dip. They were all damn delish and refreshing. Jason even gave us a presentation of how the fresh daily guacamole was made. We also had chicken burritos, hard beef tacos and carnita soft shell tacos a chicken club quesadilla, more chips and sauces a cookie and then we even had a contest on who can wrap the best burrito. The 2 elites that took a chance winded up getting free burritos for a year (I knew I should’ve tried to show my skills). All the food, the staff, the cold beer, everything was delish. So happy to know the sauces and guac are made fresh to. I don’t like when you can taste something that’s been refrigerated to long. My taste buds after this event were more then pleased and my jeans thanked me as I loosened the button and unzipped my zipper. This place is soooo good, definite must try in an awesome location. And oh almost forgot the best part. At the end they let us order food to take home to our loved ones. Or if your like me, I got it for me and just shoved it everyone’s face. Naw, just kidding, I shared. LOL

This was such a great Elite event! I had never tried Moe’s before this… I loved it! I sat with my fellow Unilocalers and ordered a Margarita which was delicious.
We started out with chips and guacamole as well as queso. They also had us try their tomatillo salsa which I put on everything else I ate! We had the chicken club quesadilla. I loved the chipotle mayo sauce they put on it. The pork soft taco and beef taco were also yummy. My favorite was the steak burrito. The meat was seasoned perfectly!
I like that they had a demonstration on how to make guacamole and a burrito rolling competition!

I have eaten at Moe’s before but getting to be the first to break in a new location wasvery cool. The crew at Moes really put the extra effort in making us feel welcomed the moment we arrived with offerings of sodas, water, Margaritas & Beer.
Once I did a quick lap & said hello to those I knew, I snagged a table with Paul & George. After grabbing my seat & checking out the new Unilocal schwag to add to my collection it was time for some refills on the awesome maragaritas. The staff was very attentive with refills & making sure we were comfortable.
Once the event officially began it was a never ending plethora of food options with some food demos & some history of the Moes brand. A few lucky Elites even scored free burritos for a year.
We had an open seat left so Cassie came to join us for dinner. As far as the food, I am extremely picky with my likes & dislikes so the only thing I could really eat that was just meat & cheese was the Queso Dip. I did have one made special for me with ground beef added to it so I had a smile on my face. After eating more than I should have, there was still cookies being passed out & an offer to take some food to go. What a nice gesture, we were truly being spoiled at this point.
My only regret was not being able to login to social media to post the # in order to participate in the contest. I took nearly 50 photos so think I would have had a shot at one of those Free Burritos for a year cards.
After collecting my custom Quesadilla with Steak, Bacon, & Cheese it was time to say my goodbyes & hit the road. Cassie passed around the bag for tips which I gladly contributed. There was a check-​in offer informing us of a mystery item. On the way out the door I showed Cassie my phone & when I saw what the item was I was EXTREMELY Happy! A Unilocal branded phone battery bank!!!

I was really excited to hear about a Moe’s opening up so close to where I live and work. The food didn’t disappoint, and I was actually really surprised that we got to try EVERYTHING. Bonus that we got to go through the line — my hubby was VERY happy with his burrito when I got home! I was absolutely stuffed by the end.
The staff at Moe’s were EXCELLENT. I have never seen such happy, helpful, motivated servers, especially at a fast casual restaurant. They seemed genuinely interested in helping all of us Unilocalers to enjoy our dinner experience.
Loved the event. Also loved my new Unilocal notebook :) Thanks Cassie!

Where to begin? Oh! Yes, Musicians, Outlaws & Entertainers, what a nice piece of trivia right there. Who would have thought Moe’s was an acronym? Welcome to Moe’s!!!
Parking was a breeze, I found a spot right away even though I got there at seven on the dot. I waited until the very end to sit down, and I got to share my table with Andrea, Carlos and Ericka, Carlos being the only Unilocalie I had met before in person, and Ericka being my online buddy. Andrea was my first time.
So, yes, queso… probably the one ingredient that needs to become a de facto condiment, like mayo, mustard, ketchup… the world would be a much happier place guaranteed. But don’t listen to me, I’m only eye candy. That said, we downed so much queso at our table the staff would bring chips without asking any longer.
The food was pretty good. Not the traditional Mexican style, but the Tex-​Mex style, and I’m not complaining, I am just saying. To say that I had a favorite would be a lie, I liked everything, especially if it had queso over it.
Little unknown fact of the night: about 20 people (I stopped counting after 18) tried to get in Moe’s in the two hour time period we spent there. For a place that is not even open, that is great. That is the power of franchises with a big yellow sign… just saying.
To end the night, I got a cookie.
Thank you Cassie, nice to see you and hang with you. Thanks for the vibrant red Unilocal notebook, I love notebooks with a passion. If hanging out with Unilocalers at Moe’s is pretty awesome, getting a brand new notebook for showing up is more than the cherry on top, it’s like, eh… well, you know what I mean.

Eat at Moe’s! (Yeah, that doesn’t ring)(Just saying)

From the moment you walked in the door you could feel the great energy in the place. The people at Moe’s were excited to have us there and they did a wonderful job to make sure we knew that and I was really impressed with how organized they were!
Margaritas and beer were constantly flowing and the food kept coming. From chips with guacamole, salsa and my favorite… queso to burritos, tacos and my other favorite the crunchy, yummy chicken club quesadilla it was all good! I really appreciated that they asked if anyone was a vegetarian or had any dietary restrictions. My vegetarian honey was able to enjoy as well because whatever they brought to the table they made sure he had the vegetarian version of it.
It really was a wonderful evening. Thank you Cassie and Unilocal for another great event, and thank you Moe’s for the wonderful hospitality, the delicious food and the cold drinks! See you soon!

Fantastic event! I had a really great time… even while sober. Those margaritas looked sooooo good!
The staff did a fantastic job at show casing all Moe’s has to offer. Ive been a patron of Moe’s for quite some time, as there is a location near my house, but the energy and knowledge of staff at this location, totally won me over.
I really enjoyed the presentations! I FINALLY learned how to properly wrap a burrito!
My ultimate favorite was the quesadilla, it had a fantastic combination of flavors. I will be returning!
Now, can someone share the queso recipe? yuuuuuuu – huuuuummmm!

The southernmost outpost of Musicians, Outlaws and Entertainers. The newly opened Moe’s held an event to welcome us to their new store. It did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in and got our customary «Welcome to Moe’s!» the hospitality didn’t quit.
The surprisingly tall Cassie was at the door to greet us and get things rolling. Before I could even finish writing out my nametag I had a beer in hand. All night there was no reason to shout BeerMe because one always appeared before I could say a word.
The food was excellent. I love Mexican in general and burritos in particular. The regional manager asked for a show of hands for the vegetarians in the house. Shyly mine went up. Instead of being looked at quizzically (what? not even bacon? everyone eats bacon!) she made a point to tell us the beans and other items that aren’t meat contained no meat. I even got my own vegetarian versions brought out so I was able to participate with the rest of our table.
And man did we participate! I wasn’t super hungry, but you couldn’t tell from the amount I ate! One more chip… a bit more guac, a dip of queso. It’s only a half of the burrito and ¹⁄₃ of a quesadilla is not that much! was it 2/3’s? Another plate of chips and salsa? Well it would be rude to not partake. And my Granny raised me better than to be rude! Me, Isreal and Angelo tried our hardest to eat it all. Veronica kept reminding us that we didn’t have to. Man that burrito!
Everything was fresh and made to order. Having no freezers or microwaves makes sure things don’t just sit around. They are also made in house. Which is cool. No GMO’s etc.
We left stuffed to the gills. Some of us left with cards good for free burritos for a year! I definitely can see myself making the curbside pickup on my travels down US1 on many an upcoming drive!

Welcome to Mmmmmmooooooooes!!!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Absolutely one of my favorite Tex-​mex food spots!!! I feel I can’t ever get enough!!! That’s why when the Unilocal Elite event was posted for the Pinecrest location I hit the RSVP button ASAP: p and I’m so glad I made it on the list!!! I also was so happy to see and mingle with my Unilocal besties!!!
The event was so FOOD-​tastic!!! Not to mention extremely well organized with amazing staff to greet, serve, teach, and ENTERTAIN! They were the host with the MOE’S-t (lol pun intended) … We learned how to make guacamole, roll a burrito, and their signature meals along with complimentary beers and margaritas just kept coming and rocking-​rolling ‘aaaall niiiiiiight loooooong!!’ Speaking of, I also now know that Moe’s stands for Musicians Outlaws Entertainer’s… I never knew that! Now it makes sense why they are so into music and rock and roll décor!!!
And to top off a fun party Towards the end, just when we thought we couldn’t eat anymore, and were literally stuffed like a burrito, Pinecrest Moe’s offered complimentary take out orders to-​goooooo wooohooo! Definitely had to take them up on a yummy steak burrito bowl and just had to snag a side of the quest blanco to go with my tortilla chips: p Finally, as we ‘rolled’ out for the night Unilocal hooked us up with some awesome Unilocal elite power pack schwag!!! Seriously!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better night: D

So this was my first time at Musicians, Outlaws, and Entertainers aka Moe’s Southwest Grill and it didn’t disappoint. As always, Unilocal continues to host amazing Elite Events.
The staff was amazing and provided everyone with a sample of everything from tortilla chips and guacamole, to their chicken club quesadilla, to beef tacos and chicken burritos. For refreshments, Moe’s provided us Unilocalers with a choice of Margaritas, Beer, or Fountain drinks.
The night wasn’t complete without a burrito rolling contest and a year’s worth of free Moe’s of which I was one of the lucky winners! I wanna thank Unilocal,our CM Cassie G, and all the staff at Moe’s! Until next event, SYOY!

Had a great time at this Unilocal Elite Event. As soon as guests arrived, our CM Cassie was there to check-​in elites accompanied by the corp brand manager. I forgot her name but she was energetic and friendly. Then the entire staff hollered «Welcome to Moe’s» each time a person walked in. We kinda’ all joined in with the staff as the event progressed
Manager spoke briefly about the history of Moe’s and their continuous expansion in South Florida. After the presentation, staff started bringing the food. Normally, you order from the counter line but this was a special occasion. First, we had chips and dips (guac, queso, tomatillo salsa). Chips were fresh and my favorite dips were the tomatillo and the honey siracha salsa from the salsa station. Then comes the Chicken Club quesadilla. Simply delicious! Fresh, hot gooey cheese, nice crunch from the bacon and the toasted tortilla. Plus the tortilla also held the fillings intact so it wasn’t messy to eat :) Last course was the burrito called Joey Bag Of Donuts. Yes, if the name sounds familiar, because it is actually from Friends. To wash all these yummy food down, Moe’s offered (just for this event) margaritas and variety of beers.
There was so much food left at the end, «but wait, there’s more!» After Cassie and Moe’s team thanked the attendees, we were offered to order from the counter any 1 item from the menu to take home. Wow… over the top generous! Also enjoyed the burrito wrapping contest between 2 Elites. Moe’s gave them each a gift card worth for a year of burritos. Kudos again to Cassie for putting this together and big thank you to the entire Moe’s team for accommodating us!

So have I ever eaten at Moe’s? Nope, I have not. This was my first time. I purposely walked-​up to the emphatic pleasant person giving us the rundown on Moe’s before leaving for a reason. This person has an obvious love and passion for what she does and believes in the brand being sold by Moe’s. This applies to everyone we saw working there last night.
Very nice with the JDRF. I notice those things from businesses and become an extra special customer to businesses that help.
There is always a reason when I do ‘things.” She confirmed my madness. I have seen Moe’s on my travels to Los Angeles and Georgia. This is where they originated before expanding. They are very popular there. After tasting their food, I can totally see why now.
Moe’s reminded me of Chipotle when I first walked-​in but, the food is much better without the risk of being sent to the hospital with Ebola after you eat it. Everything we got to sample was quite delicious. Their Queso, however, was the stand-​out for me. Every restaurant-​type has their «thing» that they should be able to serve you perfectly. Queso is that «thing» that if any Tex-​Mex restaurant doesn’t leave you «WOWed,» don’t eat there. Everything had a slight kick to it as it should for Tex-​Mex.
Yeah man, I love Unilocal and regret not signing-​up earlier. The events are great but, that’s not what I notice. What I notice is, when the Hell was the last time un comemierda from Hialeah that shakes has had a popular growing business open just for Unilocal Elites so we can sample their amazing food before it opens to the general public. You know?
Now, my mission is, trying to get them to open a franchise here in Hialeah. We need a Moe’s here.

I admit I’ve seen a few Moe’s around town but I’ve never been to any. Just another Tex Mex chain, I figured. Turns out there are more than a few Moe’s, this chain has over 600 locations! And it’s not quite your average fast food chain. All their food is non GMO, and they do not have freezer or microwave in the kitchen. Moreover, according to their website, they use all natural chicken and grass fed beef, and also offer tofu as a protein choice. Moreover, while I imagined Moe to be a guitar-​playing guy with handlebar mustache, it’s actually an acronym for Musicians, Outlaws and Entertainers.
This is one reason that, while I love Elite dinners at fancy restaurants, I also enjoy events at places that we may actually frequent. I get re-​introduced to places I thought I knew, and get a better idea of what they really are. So, now, after getting the record straight, we get to sample Moe’s offerings.
There are mountains upon mountains of chips generously offered. There’s a chunky guacamole, and a slightly spicy tomatillo salsa. The luscious cheese sauce is made with cheddar, cream, with a mild kick from jalapeño. Well, we ladies didn’t lick the bowl clean, but we sure did scrap it good with all the chips.
I’d say the chicken club quesadilla is the thickest I’ve tried, loaded with chicken, bacon, beans, tomato, and cheese, with a delicious chipotle sauce. For tacos there are ground beef on hard shells and chicken on soft. I love how juicy the ground beef is, even though it makes the shell a bit soggy, and again the stuffing is more than other places. By now we are as filled as a burrito… which is what come next. I plan on just a bite but it is so delicious I finished it!
The staff is really friendly and nice, especially Karen, the publicity lady from corporate, really makes sure we get everything we need. The staff are also very fast in refilling our drinks, though I suppose they didn’t realize that Unilocalers are such drinkers, they ran out of margaritas and some beers.

The staff from Moe’s Southwest Grill, which will formally open to the public tomorrow, were great hosts to our group of Elites tonight! Moe’s, which actually stands for Musicians, Outlaws and Entertainers, serves up made to order burritos, tacos, quesadillas and corn chips with salsa and queso. Moe’s staff enthusiastically greets every customer who walks into their restaurant with a cheery «Welcome to Moe’s!!» (which might become annoying to patrons after hearing it for about the 10^th or 15^th time during the course of their meals, but I digress), and they proudly proclaim the fact that their ingredients are all natural and made fresh. The manager tonight also stated that they have no freezers here, and according to this restaurant’s website, they have no microwaves, either.
When we arrived we got our name tags and were welcome to get a beverage (beer, margaritas or soft drinks) and sit anywhere we wanted; We found coupons for a free burrito and free queso on the tables when we were seated. A short time later the management introduced themselves and said a few words, then the staff brought servings of chips with their famous queso dip, guacamole and a cilantro-​based dip. Our table also sent a delegate up to the salsa bar to get a few cups of that to try as well. Our table of 4 polished off a few dishes of corn chips in fairly short order. Shortly after they served us a quesadilla, then later various versions of their tacos (their tacos can be ordered with a hard or soft shell, and come with your choice of pulled pork, ground beef, tofu, chicken or steak.) The quesadilla was pretty great, I had the pulled pork taco which was also very good.
Next up they served each of us a ½ a burrito with yet more corn chips. To be honest, I was so full at that point that I had to tap out and couldn’t bring myself to try even a bit of the burrito, but my table mates all gave it a thumbs up. After that, they offered each of us a chocolate chip cookie.
During the course of the evening they did a few demos for us, showing us how their fresh quacamole dip is made, and then later doing a burrito rolling demo and having a few Unilocalers try their hand at it, in exchange for a coupon for free burritos for a year! One interesting note that was told to us by our hosts and that I also later read is that the guy who founded Moe’s was for some reason obsessed with dead musicians. Therefore, they have large pieces of artwork on the walls featuring deceased musicians, and all the music they play in their restaurants supposedly either features departed musicians, or is a re-​make or cover of a song that was first done by an artist who’s no longer with us. Most all items on their menu are named after either famous lines, references or names from TV series, movies or popular culture.

Anyone who knows me, knows it take a lot to get me south of Coral Way in Miami. But, when my newly Elite friend Tricia K, asked me to go to Pinecrest for this event, I had to do it! Plus I’m from ATL and pretty much lived off of Moe’s in college. So there’s that too!
Thanks to Cassie and Moe’s for putting this together before their opening day. The Moe’s staff was super friendly and quite generous with the amount of food they were serving up! We got to try their queso, guac, burritos, tacos AND! the star of the show– their Chicken Club quesadilla! I’m sure that I’ve never had bacon on a quesadilla, and it worked so well with the chipotle ranch. Definitely a fan now!
It was a really great event and it was great to see old faces and get to meet some new Elites as well! I’m pretty sure Tricia was impressed with such a great event!

This was my very first Unilocal event! Loving the margaritas & the food! The staff was incredible. Shout out to Patrick & the rest of the gang. It was a great night of great food, drinks, company & entertainment! Got to meet other Elites & had a fun night! At the end of the night, I was stickered with several name tags since it was my first event!
BTW, this location will have curbside pickup! Cool!
