We have a lakehouse nearby and have been coming here for years on the weekends. They are only open Friday and Saturday evenings for dinner, are BYOB, and have THEBESTFRIEDSHRIMP and CATFISH on the planet. No exaggeration! Hushpuppies, pinto beans, sautéed veggies and fried okra are not to be missed. The homemade desserts differ each weekend and are made fresh by one of their long-time waitresses, Debbie(who is so sweet – ask for her). Coconut pie, caramel apple cake, peach cobbler, cheesecake. It’s all so, so good. The owner takes pride in his offerings and doesn’t skimp on the portions(or the quality). Don’t forget to ask for the green tomato relish on the side. Don’t miss this place! It’s one of a kind.

Located at corner of FM14&49 in Pine Mills is a nondescript white two story house that has the BEST grilled catfish I have EVER eaten. Only open Friday and Saturday nights. Worth the trip!

If you sneeze while looking for this restaurant you might miss it. Pine Mills Catfish sits on Highway 14 in Pine Mills, Texas. This is deep East Texas where the accents are as strong as the moonshine and they always say«Yes Ma’am». The catfish served here comes fried, grilled or Worchestershire style. I went for the catfish cooked in buttery Worchestershire sauce, and oh my goodness, was it delicious! All meals come with big fat hush puppies, beans and cole slaw and choice of okra, side salad, baked potato, fries, onion rings and veggies. Dessert the night we were there featured homemade Banana Cream and Coconut Cream Pies. It is BYOB. I repeat, it is BYOB. I repeat… okay, you’ve got it. This is a dry county but you may bring in your own alcohol. Pine Mills is only open Friday and Saturday and does not take reservations. Service is s-l-o-w due to large groups and the fact that this is a wildly popular restaurant for this area which inclues a number of small towns and Holly Lake Ranch. So, go early, go early, go early! We arrived by 6:30 and when we left there was a gigantic gang of people waiting for tables.

With a few iterations, the ownership has been in the same family for a number of years now but the recipes are original. No fancy stuff here folks. Just good, home cook’n. Dave know’s all the guests by name and will make you feel at home on your first or 50th visit. While grilled is good, I go for the fried catfish. Two fillets for $ 11.50. You can’t go wrong with the catfish Po’Boy either. The prices are reasonable, the service is great and I feel like I’m among family. Google maps is wrong. Try typing in 32.741976, –95.289466 for the exact location. Hope that helps you find it. I called the first time and they were happy to straighten things out. Fry me up a love’n spoon full Dave! I’ll be right down. Save some pie too.

We ate here on Saturday night(1÷23÷11). Google maps has this located inside Mineola city limits, but is located in Pine Mills, TX(northeast of Mineola). I wasn’t able to check in from the location since it wasn’t located on the map properly. Called ahead per website to see if we needed to make reservations(none needed). Not busy at 5PM, but we arrived @ 6:30 and it was starting to get busy. Ordered grilled combo(catfish and shrimp) with a small order of crawfish tails. Everything was served in paper or plastic containers/plates. Food was terrific. Atmosphere was cozy with small town feel. Customer service was excellent and bill was about what I expected for quality and quantity of food. Definitely worth going back to again. Approximately 40 minute trip one way for us.
