So we were traveling on I-77, and went about 30 mins out of the way since the reviews were pretty good. The staff was very friendly and it was clean, an older restaurant. The food was good, and would have earned 5 stars if the waffle were hot! It didn’t even melt the butter, but the taste was good… I can only imagine how awesome it would have been hot! Would consider dropping in again if headed this way.

I’ve been here twice, while heading north to visit relatives. It’s off the highway, next to a McD’s and an old motel. Excellent country cooking, and more. The fried chicken is as good as it gets. Today we had«Donald’s chicken,» which is a grilled chicken breast over sautéed spinach, onions, squash, cranberries and almonds. Good stuff. There aren’t a lot of gems right next to exit ramps, but this is one of them. No need to search further.

Everything I have ever eaten there is great. Love their buffet. Great prices for the amount of food you get. Cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to go back.

Wait staff excellent. Best mussels with garlic bread. Ask for them not always on the menu. GO there every chance I can. Haven’t gotten anything bad there.

Do not be fooled by the outside(or for that matter the inside), the food is fantastic~! We were in NC from NJ and had family with us from Calif. When we pulled up on the building for Sunday brunch we thought that the reviews may have been wrong BUT it turns out we were wrong! The food was fresh, homemade and hot and VERY reasonably priced. If you are within a 30 mile radius make the trip for a delicious meal.

The absolute perfect southern comfort food. Open for dinner too! Our dinner with the kids was outstanding. I had the buffet with salad bar, fried chicken, greens of several varieties, pot pie, and many desserts. The best peach cobbler I have ever had. And that’s saying a lot. My husband’s chicken parmesan was a comfort food American spin on the Italian classic. One of our kids also got the spaghetti and it was great. The kids’ chicken tenders didn’t seem to be as hand breaded as all the rest of the chicken, but our kid was still happy with them. He even ate all of the green beans. The front windows do feature a beautiful mountain view of Pilot Mountain.

Breakfast is pretty good. Burgers are pretty good. Fried chicken is excellent. Pretty much everything that I’ve ordered off of the menu has been satisfactory. The buffet is not something I’d recommend. Everything aside from the fried chicken was pretty bland and unimpressive. The staff is always friendly and prices aren’t too bad.

I love fried chix. and when I heard of a place in mt. p that did I I was more than happy to go. This has been a while ago so I will only comment on what I remember well. The fried chix was great. The atmosphere lacked. Thank God fried chix 》atmosphere. I guess there having a buffet is a turn off(I am from south Mississippi the home of buffets, teen pregnancy and stage 3 diabetes). but again, good fried chicken can be a dumpster and all sins forgiven.

We visit Mt. View anytime we go to NC to visit my husband’s grandparents, it’s one of their favorite places for breakfast and I can see why. The food is great, delicious but not fancy, and it’s also incredibly cheap for what you get. Portions are a good size but not too much. All 4 of us got omelets and they were great– they were filled with just enough toppings and the food came out hot, although it took a little while. I have to take off a star, due to them being out of a lot of items when we went. They were out of grits and home fries as sides. I ended up getting the warm apples for my side instead though, which were delicious! Biscuits are also delicious and HUGE. I’ve only been here for breakfast but the lunch menu looked delicious, I would definitely try it for lunch too.

Great place to grab breakfast. Breakfast is cheap and the plates are filled with food. The place use to have a breakfast buffet, but this time around it looks like they did away with it. Do not be afraid of the unassuming building and the older décor, the food is good!

Friendly friendly friendly! Not the fanciest place ever but the food was pretty darn good. Had the open face beef sandwich which was flavorful and tender. We also had marinaded beef strips which were very tender — yum !

This unassuming building hides a family-owned gem. We stopped for dinner on our way home to Chicago; we missed the buffet by five minutes but the remnants looked tasty, and they graciously let my husband snag some apple-cranberry cobbler(he said it was delicious). The salad bar was relatively basic but very fresh, even at the end of the night. Good ribeyes and chicken tenders. Great lasagna and pasta Alfredo. Crowd pleasing mashed potatoes and gravy. Tuxedo cake and apple pie were delicious. Overall great down home food. Our waitress, Kalia, was excellent, and the owner was walking around talking to everyone. Very kind, friendly lady. We were also treated to live music — the band played lots of classics and were very entertaining.
