Great overall! The service was very good; lots of employees and excellent service. The food came quick and was delicious. The restaurant was large and clean. Recommend!

Terrible from the food to service to management. We came here because it didn’t look as busy as the place across the street. We were told that there was a 20 min wait, after waiting to have our names taken for 15 min while the servers walking by ignored us, but we could see empty tables that just needed to be wiped down. We ended up waiting an hour for our table and then another 40 min for food. The eggs were hard and overall food quality tasted like hospital food. The manager of the place sits on his fat ass at the front and doesn’t help the kitchen or wait staff at all. He doesn’t even acknowledge customers other than to suggest things to do in the area. Last but not least, another table complained that the coffee was cold and the server argued with her saying it comes out hot and there’s nothing she could do… Do not go here. Save yourself the disappointment.

We had very slow service, they said there was only one cook and one helper in the kitchen but the manager of the place sat in a booth with a salesman ordering trinkets for the gift shop rather than helping get orders out of the kitchen. Oh and the air conditioning was not working so the building was uncomfortable. Not believe I’ll be trying this place again.

The pancakes are great. They give you a carafe so you get all the coffee you want no waiting for refills. The sausage patty was is crumbly and taste like it fell off a real piece of meat. The potatoes were great but not really enough to feel your plate. The sauce links were straight from the freezer. So short story the whole meal comes from the freezer so go somewhere else.

There are about 36 pancake houses as you drive through Pigeon Forge towards Gatlinburgn, TN. This is the last one on the right before you enter the Great Smokey Mountains. My pancakes were burned. But my western omelette was delicious. My coffee was caffeinated. My pan fried taters were lovely. If the pancake house didn’t mess up the pancakes, I’d have given them 5 stars. But, hey, it was an A-OK breakfast overall in a place where your expectations should simply be to be fed foods of a breakfast nature.

Great food and service! Came here from Miami, Florida to see the fall colors and we stayed in the hotel right beside the restaurant which made it very accessible. Definitely recommended.

We were heading for home and pancakes just sounded good. We used the eenie, meenie, method to pick this place and it turned out really well. If you are looking for snappy décor; better find someplace else. However if you are looking for good food served steaming hot to your table at a fair price and fast friendly service; then this is your place. We got there at about 9: A.M. and when we left people were waiting to get in.

Imagine the worst Shoney’s you’ve ever been to. It’s worse. We should have left as we saw the line of people about 20 deep just waiting to give the«hostess» their names. But we didn’t. It has good reviews and looked pretty darn authentic from the road. Looks are not everything. After waiting about 15 minutes for the hostess to take our name, we waited about another 20 minutes to be called back in a mass group of people to be seated. What I mean by this is that our name was called along with about 5 other groups. We were to all follow the very short-tempered hostess until she pointed out which run down booth or table she wanted our particular party to sit at in the dimly lit dining room. After she tried to seat us in the middle of the restaurant at a table for 8, the TWO of us kindly requested a booth along the wall. After all, there were only about 10 open, leaving me to wonder why we waited for so long to begin with. She couldn’t be bothered to answer, waving her hand at us dismissively, which I took for a yes. I told myself the food would be worth it. Just look at the authentic exterior! …Well, the food was undercooked and just plain bad. There’s just not a lot else to say about it. My over medium eggs featured runny, cold whites and my husband’s scrambled eggs featured the same. My pancakes were raw and cold in the middle while the outer ring was chewy and rubbery. I could go on, but you get the picture. Nice exterior though!

The day we were headed home I said we had to do a pancake house, we were in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for goodness sake. We started heading out of Gatlinburg because it was so crowded so we headed into Pigeon Forge to see if we could find a place a little less crowded. We came to Smokey Mountain first and the smell from the street brought us right in! I got the Mama bear breakfast which included, 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, and«hash browns»(they were home fries to me). My fiancé had biscuits and gravy and home fries. I tried his gravy and it was delicious. It was so much food we shared a lot! Our waitress was great and even though she was very busy she never forgot about us. All around Smokey Mountain was great!

If they were open for dinner I would eat there when I wanted breakfast for dinner. If you are looking for a really good breakfast go there. The menu is somewhat limited in comparison to other places, but once you taste the food you won’t mind. I loved everything we had there. This is going to be my go to place now when I go out for breakfast.

Been coming back for almost thirty years it’s still the best pancake restaurant in the smokies. This place has plenty of competition in the area but if you want down home hillbilly pancakes and more this is it.

Friendly staff gets 5 stars… food gets 1star. Grits were water logged, yet under cooked and flavorless. Coffee was watery. Hashbrowns were frozen patties like mcdonalds. 2eggs, with meat and hasbrowns= $ 7. Add toast and it’s & $ 9. Save your money and go to crocketts in Gatlinburg.

Real fruit on the berry cakes. My friend had pigs in the blanket and the sausages were plump and tasty. The dining room is spacious enough to not be crowded over hear your neighbors conversation. I’d recommend Smokey Mountain for breakfast before a hike in the National Forest

Food took 30 minutes to come out. There were three tables that came in after us and we’re served first. When the food came out, it was wrong. When we complained to the manager, he made no apology and said«it’ll be out in a minute.» Game over. This is the third strike for this place.

I’ve stopped at this place every time I’ve made it to this area for the last 20 years. It’s a favorite. There’s no better place to find true southern hospitality and the best mountain breakfast. You definitely have your pick of pancake houses here, but in my opinion none other matters. I’ve always been disappointed with every other one I’ve gone to. This is your spot! The food is great, the employees are extremely welcoming, the location is convenient, and the atmosphere is wonderful. This will always be my #1 pancake location!

Great food. Awesome pancakes. My husband had the tenderloin and pancakes. Cooked perfect and was juicy. My daughter loves the Reece’s peanut butter pancakes. Lots of food for a good price. We will definitely come back.

When we stayed at the Creekstone Inn across the street(please read my review and look for an update), we had a choice of their tiny breakfast(think coffee and donuts) or we could use a coupon that the hotel gave us at check-in. On our last visit to Pigeon Forge, we opted to try the Smoky Mountain Pancake House. Our coupon was for either $ 1 off of a menu item or a free stack of 4 buttermilk pancakes per person, so most of us ordered sides only to go with our free pancakes. I ordered bacon and the kids ordered grits, oatmeal, sausage, and eggs(not all of them but one per kid!) My husband didn’t feel like pancakes, so he got the cheese omelet with toast, hashbrowns, and sausage… which he loved. I have to say, I’ve eaten a lot of pancakes in my life, being my #3 favorite food behind pizza and barbecue. I have eaten at just about every pancake house in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg over my life, and I will say without a bit of doubt, these pancakes are the very best I have ever had. They were large, light, and fluffy and the taste was just heavenly. I don’t know what they use, but I’m pretty sure this is no mix that you add water to like we do at home. I’m thinking they use real buttermilk… and who knows what else. There was plenty of soft butter and hot syrup. Just perfect. All 6 of us walked out of there saying that was the best meal we’ve ever had. Not kidding. The next morning, we went back and ordered the exact same thing. We’ve already decided we’re going to stay at Creekstone Inn when we return — but if they are booked up, regardless of where we stay, we will be returning to the Smoky Mountain Pancake House. Word of advice, this is the one smack-dab in the middle of a Rodeway Inn.(Don’t stay there). There is another restaurant with the exact same name on the same side of the Parkway that is about ¼ of a mile closer to the center of Pigeon Forge. I can’t comment on that one because it’s one that I haven’t been to. THISONE is closer to Gatlinburg. 100% recommended.

So, the wait time on a Sunday morning in Gatlinburg is about 20 minutes and during a 4 day weekend… probably longer. We caught a break, there were only two of us. The door is gonna confuse you. You have to enter around a corner and exit through another corner — maybe that’s because it’s such a good place to eat at they run into traffic problems. Surprisingly, with the entire restaurant packed, the service was pretty quick and i even got to have some custom silver dollar pancakes with my breakfast. Only thing i had to comment on is — why do the omelets and pancakes have the inside ingredients on top?
