Smoky Mountain Candy Makers

My boyfriend and I stopped in here when we were in Gatlinburg for a long weekend. He had been here previously and said it was really good, so I decided to give it a try. We took home quite a load of candy, just little samples of things that looked good. I can honestly say that I don’t think there was anything that I disliked. Some of the flavors of taffy I wasn’t very fond of, but it was still made well I just didn’t like the flavor. The fudge is amazing. They had these jelly sugared candies that took me back to my childhood. Kind of hard to notice from the road but if you get a chance, definitely stop in!

This place here is a joke! My husband and me walked into the candy store today. These people did not acknowledged us at all. We walked around just to see if they would actually say «hello.» They just ignored us! Well guess what? Since our money wasn’t good enough. We went to chocolate monkey.

I can’t give 5 stars because it is candy but it is one of the best candy places I have been too.
We stopped in because someone at my work had brought some taffy in from here and I love me some taffy. The place was empty and the store owner was behind the counter looking bored. My daughter came in after I did helped me pick out some taffy. It was about 5 something for a pound of whatever you wanted, pick and choose. They had barrels of all sorts of flavors so we got some banana (my fave) and my daughter chose chocolate, strawberry, and some others. They also had MOONSHINE! There were also some flavors I had never heard of nor would I try.
They also had fudge and candied orange peels and HUGE chocolate covered marshmellows. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for at least some good taffy!

Great store! We visited from ohio. Peanut butter peanuts are AWESOME! Smooth chocolate, taffy is great, and we bought som sugar free for inlaws! I am definitely coming back for more!

The store itself may be great but DO NOT try to order online. I ordered last week, they won’t take online payment and so I called my credit card information in. I was told I would get an email confirmation the next day. I STILL have not gotten any email or anything and I have sent 2 emails. (Online ordering is pricey too, for 2 lbs the shipping was $ 8 so for my 2 pounds I paid just under $ 20)
UPDATE– never got any correspondence from them but the candy arrived today. Very fresh. Teaberry is delicious! Just like the gum. The Clove is too mild for my taste but not bad.

The best candy store In pigeon forge, Tn we went in here looking for hot sauce, which we were told they didn’t carry it, so Howard the owner tells us of a place in gatlinburg that has 100’s of different hot sauces, he actually took out his phone and Unilocaled it for us and told us how to get there. We did buy a few different chocolates which where incredible even days later it still was creamy and fresh. So whatever your looking for especially chocolate you can find it here, if not he can probably tell you were to get it at. The store was spotless and had hundreds of selections of different candies, so don’t waste time going to any other candy store smoky mountain candy makers is the only stop you will need. And we found the hot sauce shop right were he told us it would be, thanks Howard.
