A visit to an ice cream shop is a must to beat-the-heat of summer. A wide variety of choices available. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for robust flavored ice cream, friendly service, and a myriad of toppings

$ 12.50 for my husband and I we used to have a Marble Slab in our college town, but they closed it down so we were excited to re-visit. It wasn’t what I remembered I got cheesecake ice cream & strawberry and pineapple as toppings. It would have been phenomenal, but the strawberries were at the end of their cycle and not very fresh(which I guess I should have assumed/expected considering it’s the middle of December!) my husband got vanilla with Oreos in a waffle cone — DELICIOUS! We are huge DQ blizzard fans, but this surpassed all Oreo blizzards. It was great! We would definitely go back — I would just definitely choose different toppings based on the time of the year. And we will search for a coupon before next visit

I only added a second star with hopes that the service had entered puberty at some point in their post-Beiber-Fever lives. However, according to some recent views I read, things haven’t changed. With that said, let the long awaited review begin. First off, let me say that everything else in the area was a wonderful experience. Marble Slab was a wonderful nightmare I’d like to douche in a port-a-potty. My experience happened on my Honeymoon a few years ago. The lovely teeny boppers who showed«extreme compassion» of disgust for their job sure had enough customer service to at least please a hedgehog at a petting zoo. My beautiful new bride, and I were deciding what to eat. As soon as we chose our poison, I looked down, I was greeted with the eyes of Maleficent. The other two little girls were behind her on each side with their hands on their hips as if we were facing off in a dance off contest. They, too were disturbed as if we interrupted some nail painting, and raunchy boy talk. We got our order along with some nails-on-chalkboard attitude. I could feel the hate from them piercing my soul from each scoop the plopped on our cup. We were the only customers there, mind you. That was until an elder couple came in. Oh, I’m sure their pillow talk was even more crashed at that point. I couldn’t imagine a third party coming In… Oh, wait. There was… A young, sweaty(skinny) stud wearing a tank top, came hulking in like he owned the place. Oh, the girls were swooned. They invited him in their work area? Did he work there? That will forever be a mystery. What was seen was the three little ovulating girls were circling around their prey as he entertained them in the kitchen area. Having worked in the food business, myself, ESPECIALLY for the military, I know that was more than unsat. We great fully enjoyed our cold, tasty treat, and quickly left to enjoy the rest of our Honeymoon by venting our anger by doing what Honeymooners normally do on their Honeymoon. I made sure and reported the incident to the higher power of the company. UNFORTUNATELY, the ONLY response that I received was that they weren’t able to investigate due to not knowing who the employees were… Did they want me to try and investigate the trio and ask for their name, rank, social security number, serial number, how tall they were, etc?!? Let me guess, the owner is their parents, am I right? Fine! Whatever. Case never closed– at least, in my book. It will forever be that bad taste, like a long, lingering, wet fart coating the back of my throat. I’d rather YOLO than Slab on Marbles. Call it what you will. But, my 3 year old daughter has more hospitality than the tweens at that location. Spank you for the memories. Enjoy a cold one on me. Very respectfully, The disrespected Honeymooners

Went to this place with my boyfriend last night. It was simply okay; nothing to really complain too much about but I’ve had way better ice cream and service for a third of the price. Flavors were very limited. They did offer the typical birthday cake, cheesecake, and chocolate flavors but the amount of variety was definitely lacking. I ordered a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and nuts with one scoop of cheesecake and another scoop of coffee. Both of the flavors tasted on point, but the amount that was given and the quality of the cone was disappointing. They should let their customers know that their comes are dipped in dark chocolate rather than milk, because I wouldn’t have shelled out the extra $ 1.50 had I known this. Scoops were very small, about half the size of a «normal» scoop of ice cream. Not to mention that it cost me $ 15 for two ice cream cones. Ridiculous. Service wasn’t great, either. I couldn’t understand the woman who took care of us and she got frustrated when I asked her to repeat herself a few times. It wasn’t a terrible experience but I wouldn’t go back.

Delicious! Very clean and the staff was very helpful. Definitely a must stop. We had never been to this creamery before. However, verrry similar to another creamery I shall not mention. The staff was very helpful. The tables inside could’ve been cleaned a little quicker between customers, but we sat outside instead.

Terrible attitudes by staff. The young lady with rectangular glasses who waited on me the night of 6÷12÷2015 bordered on rudeness with her indifference. NEWSFLASH! You work at an ice cream joint in a tourist town in the summer. Periodically, customers will interrupt your Instagram and Snapchat sessions. Also, the bruise on your right arm that you seemed so interested in will eventually fade. Pay attention to your job in the meantime. She slung our orders to us and seemed irritated that she had to get off her phone to actually serve customers. Your attitudes suck and it is only the start of the summer season. I imagine by August they will be openly violent to anyone who enters the store.

Ice cream tasted great however the staff was very disinterested with being there. No one was very pleased to be serving the customers. Almost $ 45 for a family of six!

Ice cream was actually pretty good but the service was terrible! I mean I have literally spoken to house plants with more personality. I had the French Toast(Yum!) and the Cookies and Cream. When mixing the young woman that helped me didn’t ask which toppings I wanted or if I even wanted a cup or cone. She just mixed and but the overall priced ice cream in a cup. I had to tell her I wanted a cup with a chocolate cone she then looked annoyed and still put it in a cone with no cup. After ringing me up she walked away to the back and without even giving me a spoon, no «thank you come again,» and no receipt. It was as if I were an inconvenience for her. Near the end I was just ready to get out of there just as fast as she was. I had to ask the guy with the long hair for a spoon. I was here on vacation with my girlfriend and she felt the same way I did and told me so before I even said anything. I will definitely not be returning, I’d rather go to the Baskin Robbins in the parking lot. The two young ladies that work there shouldn’t be working in customer service or maybe they were just having an off night.

Great ice cream place. I had their coffee ice cream with Oreo toppings. The ice cream was great, some of the best coffee ice cream I’ve had. My only complaint is the service was rather slow. The night I went there was about 4 or 5 employees working, but there was still a long line. Although, this is most likely due to how long some of the ice cream specialties and mixtures they offer take to make.

This was my first time in the Marble slab. Upon entering there was a few females working behind the counter and within minutes they all disappeared and left the building leaving this young man to work alone. His hair was long and he continued messing with it while making the ice cream. He was making the ice cream with no gloves and ringing people out since there was no one else in the restaurant. A rush of people came in about 10. Keep in mind it was only 10 pm, 10 minutes before this there was 6 girls working. At this point we were leaving when we saw one working coming out of Starbucks across the sheet headed back into the store. Very unprofessional atmosphere. Store was no clean with napkins laying all over the floor and table were filthy.

Not bad! Need more toppings though, but very good and super friendly! Will go back to get some more! If you have a cold stones creamery near you this place is just like it! Yummy!

One of the best places to get ice cream. What’s not to like about Marble Slab?

After finishing up at Mellow Mushroom, we dropped in for some ice cream. I had the mocha, which actually tastes more like hot chocolate flavored ice cream(its good). The serving was HUGE! For once, I couldn’t finish my helping of ice cream, and it was a small. It was a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I enjoyed it, but I still like Coolato Gelato in downtown Knoxville better.

Not only was this place clean, staffed with friendly, courteous people, and serving delicious ice cream, BUT when I lost my brand new iPhone in the parking lot during a torrential downpour, the kind young man and young woman working that night took it upon themselves to save my phone from the rain, clean/dry it, make sure it was still working then let me know they had found it! I would’ve been lost, $ 300 down the hole and 8 hours from home. Thank God for the 2 kind young people working that night!

Way over priced for average ice cream. 14 dollars for two medium cups of ice cream. Several advertised flavorful were not available including chocolate. Definitely not worth it. Try a different place.

Expensive for ice cream, some things not great(wife said the waffle cone was not so fresh). Had four people working yet took 30 minutes to get through a line of 20 people. Mine was fine, I ended up getting a large portion when I ordered a medium. Pretzel ice cream didn’t really taste like pretzels(had crushed pretzel dust instead of chunks mixed in.) Otherwise on par with coldstone.

Getting ice cream is usually a very happy experience. It is often a refreshing treat on a hot day or something like that. My experience at The Marble Slab Creamery took all the joy out of getting ice cream. Dissatisfaction comes for the following reasons: 1. I asked if the recommended creations were the same price and something else indicated on the menu and the girl responded yes. A second or two later another employee came over and added that the mix-ins would cost an addition $ 2.60. So therefore not the price it said it was on the menu… 2. I decided to get a Butter Pecan shake. Five minutes later, even though I was one of 3 people in line, I finally got my shake. It was literally half full. My recommendation: Go to Baskin-Robbins next door because anything would be better than this place.

Being a fan of Cold Stone Creamery I figured I would give this place a try. What a huge disappointment. The ice cream was really bland. I’ve had better out of a carton from the supermarket. Very overpriced for the portion size you get. Also, the staff the night I was there was not interested in paying customers(in fact I had to ask for someone to ring me up) as they were more interested in flirting with their friends that stopped by. Save some money and stop by the Sweet Shop at Lazerport. They serve Edy’s, have a good selection of flavors, and is about half the price.
