Great coffee, great atmosphere and staff, and great art. Fun place to hang out.

Love this place, but I have to be honest there are a few problems. They can’t make a good Cortado, if they are out of a sandwich they won’t make a new one and today I asked for a bag with my sandwich, so they handed me a bag instead of putting the sandwich in the bag(maybe not a huge thing but its speaks of the service mentality). The coffee, by the way, is simply better at Gypsy Donut. From now on I’m sticking with muffins and their awesome Turkeybang wrap(if they have them made).

The complete opposite of Starbuck’s or Dunkin. Yes, this is a good thing. The coffee is terrific, prepared by people that who are passionate about coffee and tea. Hand made muffins that are made each morning by a lovely lady. The walls are decorated by local artists and the furniture is old but it is like your favorite chair at home. Unfortunately places like this are hard to find.

Coffee was fine, tea was weak. Main problem was how dirty this place was. All tables and chairs were covered in crumbs or worse. Upholstery was stained and there was a young lady lying in the back doorway with her feet on the wall. I wouldn’t return

I love this place, very relaxing and cozy, great for morning beverage and snack even for someone who doesn’t drink coffee. I do avoid it on summer weekends because of the bikers who are often rude and sometimes just stop in to use the(only) bathroom without even buying anything. Minus those days — when they are plenty busy without my patronage — I am always happy with my visits.

«I mean, Kelly Clarkson will never be sexy.» The two working the counter were having this engaging and offensive conversation. It continued with how Demi Lovato looks like a sausage on some latest magazine cover. The young woman took my order and while the drink was fine, she barely looked at me because she was so engaged in the sort-of hipster guy’s conversation. You just can’t be sexy if you have any meat on you… just so you know. So the service was sub-par and the vapid wannabe hipster just made the experience even worse.

They have good espresso and yummy chocolate chocolate chip cookies. It’s the meeting point of all bikers during the summery weekends. All my friends are always looking forward to this stop when we leave Manhattan and going to Nyack beach! Four stars only because it gets pretty crowded if you don’t go very very early.

This summer this coffee shop has become part of my weekend routine as we bike up 9W for endless miles. Just a short jaunt off the main road will take to you the best iced coffee and most amazing muffins(always seem warm on the weekends as they are freshly baking them to keep up with demand). Be warned, this is a cyclist’s mecca on the weekends. Lots of bike parking outside, and some seating around, however, as a busy place, the seats were always taken, so we would post up on the stoop next door to enjoy the treasures of this joint! Note: Cash only

Nice quiet place, comfortable chairs and they provide the Sunday papers. Ordered a coffee and a blueberry muffin which was freshly baked. Lately more and more places are baking their own goods and while the price is higher, if you are going to eat that many carbs at least it was worth it.

A true biker joint. Be prepared to bump into sweaty cyclists while browsing the menu near the counter. I’m sure the muffins are great, if that’s what you’re into. Word of advice: just don’t go for the pre-made sandwiches. I’ve had a bad experience. Bottom line– Great place to grab a coffee, coconut water, and maybe a power bar(to-go)

I’m a hiker not a biker, but I come to Piermont occasionally. That said, it’s a tiny town and it makes for a good stop; apres-hike or post-hike, for coffee, and a bit of food. Last time I was here the stand-out was the wrap sandwich, perhaps turkey and cheese?(I ditched my own sandwich and had that instead.) The counter staff are sweet and friendly. The usual wave of cyclists flowing in and out, so pick out a sitting spot in this cramped café and stick to it!

I have recently started working in this area and I am BIG coffee fan. So, I was looking for a coffee shop to make my go to place. The location of this coffee is great. I only tried the regular coffee(that’s my regular order at any coffee shop) which I would say«I’ve experienced better».

First, the lattes were quite simply… terrible. The cups used are some homemade looking pottery mugs that don’t seem easy to clean so it had me thinking they probably aren’t clean. The staff wasn’t very friendly and the place is quite dirty inside. Floors and seating need a good, thorough cleaning. The place can fill quickly with customers and it’s a bit awkward and tight to sit and enjoy your coffee. If that’s your plan, sit all the way in the front and deal with drafts of cold air as folks open the front door.

It’s known bikers’ stop for snacks and coffee when we’re riding for Piermont! this place is perfect since they have tiny pastries and half wraps and sandwiches, the selections are small, services are quick and friendly, there’s bathroom we can use and bike rack outside. there’s seatings inside but w that old carpet and couch, it smells musky so I usually just sit outside!

What an amazing macchiato — bold, smooth, rounded, no acidity, served in a large enough cup to hit the spot. Love this place!

Bunbury’s coffee is an interesting establishment mostly for retirees and route 9W cyclists. It has weird hours: it’s almost never open – at least never past 3pm. I come here on weekends to embrace the very respectable coffee quality, as well as endless charm and tranquility of Toni Morrison’s former homestead. This well-hidden coffee shop is an obviously suburban affair. You will not find the mandatory d-bag hipster, or the stressed out college student rocking out with his macbook air – standard fare in most NYC coffee places. What you will find at Bunburry’s, however, are relaxing retirees and – surprisingly – bicycle gangs. Yes, inexplicably, every cyclist must stop by here for coffee along his scenic exercise route. Since the internal combustion engine and alcohol consumption went out of fashion, these REI-equipped tour-de-france rebels love their coffee pitstops. On their way to and fro Fort Lee, I presume, and mostly in their 40s, these brave souls must first stop for coffee and chill for a couple of hours, before they perform their normal migratory exercise activity. Every time I am here, I’m amazed how color coordinated the bicyclists always are – I guess bike gang representation is a thing. Yes, Unilocal, there is bicycle parking nearby. My inner Mark Twain loves this place; good coffee, a cozy seating area, with endless supply of bicyclists along with the usual Piermont tourists. All in a charming Americana town well-isolated from the hustle and bustle of the big city just 20 minutes away. This is a good place to write a long-winded novel – or an equally boring Unilocal review.

Busy place with cyclists as a key stop on the cycling route. The pain au chocolat and muffins were delicious. The scones are another excellent choice. In fact we did not go wrong with any of the choices we made so the queue was understandable! The coffee was just right, but my espresso experts do prefer the coffee at the cycle shop.

Are you riding a bike up 9W and passing through either Piermont or Nyack? Then chances are you will be making a pit stop at Bunbury’s. I have popped in here a few times during rides. The inside is small but very cozy — a rustic coffee shop vibe that feels almost more like you are in someone’s living room. The have a decent selection of baked goods and some pre-made sandwiches. The staff is very nice as well. They even put a couple of bike racks out front to cater to the cycling crowd. My minor complaints are that the service is a bit slow, so if you get stuck behind a large group of road warriors, you may be waiting a while. Also, their food selection is a bit anemic. It gets the job done, but I would like it if they had a wider food selection. Finally, they are cash-only which is very annoying. That said, Bunbury’s is definitely better than going to one of those coffee or doughnut shop mega chains.
