The Warden and I visited GAP with another couple in the late afternoon on a Saturday. It was a blistering hot day, but still decided to sit outside in one of the booths that rock like a rocking chair and had a canvas roof over it. Our server was taking our order within minutes and had said drinks in two short minutes. The overall vibe had a bit of a «hipster» feel to it, but was fun nonetheless. After a few drinks, we decide to have a little something to eat and we all pretty much had apps or salads. Another drink and we were on our way. Our total bill came to $ 158, which doesn’t seem bad for four people, cept for the fact that we all basically had apps. Like the atmosphere, drinks were good, all be it a bit expensive, service was good. Would probably return, but simply wait for a more pleasant day to do so.

One of my favorite bars in Phoenixville. It’s a beautiful, historic building where the outdoor bar is awesome and the food is terrific. They have different specials all the time, so they always have something that you will love to eat. Best place to have a relaxing time with friends as they have a huge outdoor seating area with couches — and don’t forget to try the covered rocker picnic tables, they are fun! The indoor bar is a little cramped, but it has amazing charm.

Great atmosphere– especially the new bar area. Always great service and excellent food. The outdoor area is very nice, the only drawback is when parents let their kids run around unsupervised. Inside seating is more upscale and very pleasant. Great place– we go back a lot!

We had a relaxing family dinner during our last holiday visit in Phoenixville area. Food and service were both good. This establishment provides a nice ambiance and is furnished and decorated for classy occasions. The restaurant-side where we had our table was comfortable and cozy with minimal noise level. I’m looking forward to be sitting in the outdoor section for our next visit during the warm-weather months.

It’s so hard to write a bad review for the one place in Phoenixville that has an awesome outdoor space. But, I have to. Walked to town for dinner with my husband on Sunday and really wanted to sit outside. We chose GAP because of the wonderful outside space and apparently everyone else had too this weekend. It was late for a Sunday — around 8pm so we thought it would be smooth sailing, but it must have been a long day. Our server came to the table in a reasonable amount of time and got our drink order, but then disappeared for a while. When she came back with our drinks we were ready with our food order. I was eager to order the pesto turkey burger, and she said they were all out of burgers, turkey burgers, and nachos. Why didn’t you tell us that before? The table next to us had gotten several orders of sliders just then so I was a little confused… It was dark, so we needed another minute to come up with plan B. She did come right back and I ordered the bubba chicken sandwich(thinking it would be big and filling based on the description). My hubby ordered the vegetable quesadilla and a salad starter. A good while later all three items came and even just at first glance we were disappointed. The bubba chicken was more like bubba’s baby sister it was so small. It was nestled in the bread like chicken little rather than a big bubba boy… We like to share our food so we get more variety and it really wasn’t enough to share. The fries were good and hot. The salad was fine. The vegetable quesadilla, while it looked ok presentation wise really was just some vegetables and tortilla and not oozing with cheesy goodness at all. The salsa ramekin was not salsa at all, but what tasted like a can of diced tomatoes had been opened and they really thought we wouldn’t notice. The guacamole was good — not enough to save the day though. We were hungry after a day of yard work. It did the trick, but was not satisfying enough to get us to walk in to town and choose GAP again. Too many choices.

Enjoyed another great meal tonight. Excellent service too. The new indoor/outdoor bar looks great. I had the smoked salmon, mushroom, asparagus with ravioli a very interesting combination of flavors. My wife enjoyed the quesadilla and gave it an A+++ rating. We are looking forward to warmer weather to dine outside again.

Just ate here again and it’s impossible to overstate how great this place is. We were on a time crunch so we were worried when we arrived and saw the place was busy. Our worries were laid to rest as soon as we saw the hostess. She sat us right away on the awesome patio. I ordered the smoked Brisket sandwich. It was absolutely amazing. And that BBQ sauce… SWEETMERCY that BBQ sauce. It was amazing. My buddy ordered the chicken parm sandwich and said it was fantastic. The Great American Pub is so consistently good with all its dishes and the atmosphere is second to none. We will keep coming here again and again.

Great American seems to continue improving this location. First off, the building is dope. Very historic with lots of character. The new outdoor beer garden /indoor patio bar is great. Awesome draft beer selection, everything from Nugget Nectar to Lagunitas IPA to a traditional lager. You notice significant money was invested in this bar but this really pays off. The regular bar is pretty cool as well. Overall just a solid place to drink beer. Bar food we had the one night were very tasty so props to the cooks & chef! Keep it up, Pistol

It’s like they had Bar Rescue stop by! Awesome new enclosed bar in the back, a healthier food options and they upped their wine list! I’m not fan of wings generally, but the double fried teriyaki wings were awesome! Crispy and delicious!

Like this place. Very nice! They didn’t have many specials, especially the day of the super bowl. Other bars had specials but this one. Drinks were good though and food was great! We got the brisket nachos. Definitely get them if you come here!

The Great American Pub & Hotel accommodated my company for our annual holiday party. They sat 13 people upstairs and were extremely attentive to us. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was fantastic, and everyone raved about the appetizers. I had the crab cakes, which were amazing. The Great American Pub & Hotel of Phoenixville was much nicer than the one in Conshohocken, and I’d recommend a visit. There’s great outside seating during warm weather too.

Make sure you leave room for desert. They have an apple pie with ice cream that is great. I forget what they call it, but they’ll know if you ask for it. Good beer selection. Your average domestics mixed with some great craft beers. The staff is nice and attentive. There’s one bartender in particular that is cute and always has a smile on her face. Went a few times because there was live entertainment and art there, and I was a little curious, so I checked it out. Only meant to grab one beer, ended up staying later than anticipated because of it. Also met some cool people on those occasions. Beer prices could be a little better though.

the GAP is my favorite spot in phoenixville. The food, service and atmosphere is great! If you want to relax and have a good beer this is the place! There is normally music throughout the week and it is great to meet and hear local artist play. Definitely my first choice when my friends and I are grabbing drinks and dinner.

Great new little place. Outdoor seating is superb and the live music outdoors was excellent. Gap is a gap but this one due to the outdoor piece is a lot better than most. Recommended

Let me start by saying that we visited on one of the busiest days of the year for Phoenixville(Food Truck festival), but our group showed up as the block event was winding down, so GAP had some to recover. We arrived promptly for our 5:30 reservation and walked over to the hostess to tell her who we are and she states that she can seat a table for four only. We explain to her that we have a reservation for 8 and after a minute, she gets it and sets up a table for 8, as many tables were now empty and they just needed to throw down some place settings. Seated after just a few minutes… nice. Our waitress comes over to say hello, explain how nuts the day was, how they had to shut down for 1.5 hours due to the volume, yet stressed the importance of good service(funny now after what we experienced). She takes our drink order and she is off and running. Shortly after, we all get our drinks. One of the guys in our group can put them down and drains his Corona in a few minutes. He tries to get her attention to get another and even went as far as ordering two so she didn’t have to come back so often… nope, she was not doing that. I guess she thought he was kidding… maybe there’s a rule of no double fisting. Have to look into that. Needless to say, he probably had 6 of them in our two hours there and it was a struggle to get any of our additional drinks the entire night. She kept telling us how backed up the bar was, but we peeked over to the bar and it was completely empty. She also kept telling us she had to go downstairs each and every time for the beers we were requesting… they were local canned craft beers on their menu, so perhaps they just ran out upstairs. We weren’t getting the beers we ordered, but they were cold and wet so we just drank them for fear we would never see her again. It was comical to see her care less and less each and every time she came back to our table. It probably took her 45 minutes to ask if we wanted to order food, which we did. We were definitely a drinking bunch that night, but we wanted to eat. Food was hit or miss for our table. My wife ordered her burger medium rare and it had a pulse… I love pink and could not eat it. Hand cut sweet potato fries were great, as was the crab artichoke dip. I loved the Drunken Shrimp I ordered and the small portion was anything but small. Pesto Turkey Burger and Penne Fresco were a couple other of the winners this night. Towards the end of our meal, they even ran out of limes for the Corona. It can happen I guess, but can’t say I’ve ever heard that one before. Throughout the evening, we watched as a two top would get sat and after 20 minutes of minimal attention, the couple would get up and leave. This happened to 3 different couples during our time there. In the end, our night was fun but so many times during our stay, we kept thinking…“let’s get the hell out of here and go someplace where we can get some actual service.” Because of the company and laughs, I am glad we stayed. Bring on the beach!

So much has been said about GAP, but here’s the scoop: you’ll be hard pressed to find a place that wants to exceed your expectations like this place. Number one, they probably robbed one of the US mints to restore the Columbia Hotel and you can tell they put a LOT of thought into that process. The atmosphere is as hypnotic as the third night at Woodstock. The interior is amazingly cozy which is good because you’re DEFINITELY going to get a food coma here. And they just opened the outdoor seating and bar which is what you’re looking for when you’re trying to pound down some of the great beer variety or maybe you’re just looking sit on one of the awesome patio couches with a friend, loved one, or an adventurous stranger. But to get to the meat of this review, which is ironic because I’m vegan. ANDSOIS A GOODPARTOFTHEIRMENU. Finally we can praise Allah, Jesus, and Jehovah for some stuff your face full of falafel drizzled in MAGIC balsamic sauce VEGANFAIRE. I mean, if I’m there, I’m usually trying to locate the head chef after my meal just to whisper sweet nothings in his ear(mostly about how much I love him for making this amazing vegan food), which my wife does not appreciate as much as I do. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy GAP, but if you are, get ready for a roller coaster ride full starting at brussels sprouts and beet salad that will make you whimper like puppy — to heavenly chick pea tacos full of guacamole wrapped in lettuce to be washed down with an organic fruit smoothie… Ok I’m going to shut up now because I’m getting super hungry and the place doesn’t even open until tomorrow.
