Idk why this place got such bad reviews. I was on a road trip with my boyfriend & his family. We got hungry so we decided to stop here. They had been here before but this was my first time. I could understand the feeling of the place bc its not a crazy fancied up place. It was 8pm & it was empty. We came in & got greeted kindly. We got our table and got on with our first plate. The food was pretty good. They had a good selection considering it was 1 hour till close. They had dumplings, egg soup, wonton soup, sweet & sour soup, spicy chicken, Thai chicken, rice, oysters, fries, cheesy seafood, rice, a salad bar, a variety of fruits & desserts including ice cream. I have been to a terrible buffet previously. This buffet was clean, the food was great for its price, the service was friendly. They should definitely make a few wallpaper renovations & table changes. Brighter light bulbs but other then that they are a great place to stop by.

The best Chinese food in Phoenixville. The food is delicious and the restaurant is clean. The owners and their daughters add even more charm to the dining experience. My family loves this place.

Simply not good food. This place is average at best. Went for lunch. Prices have gone up as well(7.50 now). It was almost $ 20 for lunch buffet and 2 drinks! Sorry, for that price I want more. Selection isn’t good. And the ice cream… Each flavor had large amounts of frost in them and bits of other ice cream from flavor that weren’t even in the freezer. Last, and possibly most disturbing of all, there was a live bird in a cage in the eating area. Isn’t that some kind of health code violation? Just creepy. We drove 20 minutes out of way to try this place out. Won’t make that mistake again.

Very surprised to see all the negative reviews on here. For the price($ 6.99 for lunch, $ 10.99 for dinner), this place is a superb value. They offer a decent variety of options, although its not the size a Chinese mega buffet. But I found the quality when I went, to be better than average for the most part.

This is probably the worst Chinese buffet I have ever eaten at. The rice and noodles were hard and dry and the«crème puffs» were hard as rocks. The only edible thing there were fried dumplings. Beyond a waste of money and not even worth the stomach ache.

Not good, Food quality is poor. Table was tacky(sticky). Almost depressing. Get take out from the Giant right next door. While it isn’t a buffet, the food quality is at least 2 steps above.

Did not take long for them to get back to their old roots. They apparently are the NEW Golden Buffet and finally served Sushi. Nothing amazing, but I can get around sushi at an all you can eat buffet. I can eat sushi and lots of it. I would have given them 3 – 4 stars when I thought they finally came around and upped the quality. Two weeks later, they’re back to their less than average, lazy selves. 2 stars. There’s better elsewhere.

I have to agree with the previous reviews about the quality of the eating environment. Its pretty dated, and yes there is a disgusting dirty couch as soon as you walk in. Not to mention a kitchen table next to a dirty fish tank. I gave this place two stars because not all of the food is bad, I actually found the egg rolls, white rice, mixed rice and beef and broccoli quite delicious. I have never actually dined in the restaurant, we always get our buffet to go. Most, not all of the food on the buffet is not fresh but you may luck out if they just refill an entrée from the kitchen.

One of the worse chinese buffets I’ve ever been to. Food is stale, old and veggies are welted and dried out. Over priced for what you get. It’s a shame because its so close to my house, but I’d rather drive 10+ miles for quality food for this $.

Every once in a while, as a former big-city dweller, I get a craving for cheap, greasy Chinese take-out. You know — big battered nuggets of chicken in unidentifiable pink syrup, pan-fried dumplings, and mysteriously salty egg rolls. Maybe I’m alone in this, I don’t know. Anyhow, though, my one experience with New Golden Buffet has convinced me that this is not the place to satisfy those cravings. For about thirty bucks, I got a take-out meal consisting of Moo Shu Vegetables, a slightly spicy dish called Ma Pu Tofu, General Tso’s Chicken, along with dumplings, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The dumplings were fine, and the Moo Shu vegetables weren’t too bad, but everything else was, frankly, terrible, and as you can see from my other reviews, my standards aren’t exactly high. The chicken was almost too hard to chew; the egg roll tasted like it hadn’t been completely defrosted before they heated it up, and the tofu dish consisted only of chunks of mushy, flavorless tofu floating in copious amounts of gloppy«sauce»(which appeared to be soy sauce thickened with cornstarch, plus sweetener and hot sauce). The dumplings tasted identical to the dumplings I’ve eaten in hole-in-the-wall Chinese take-outs around the United States, so they were fine. The Moo Shu vegetables were reasonably good; they tasted fresh, and the flavorings weren’t too salty or sweet. Now, most folks go there for the buffet, and there was a bit of a crowd there, so maybe the buffet offerings are better. But for thirty bucks I expected something a little better than this. To top it off, the service was incredibly slow. I’m still looking for that cheap Chinese fix.
