YMCA Camps Sky Y & Chauncey Ranch

I was too start with the bad, because there was some good too and I want to end on that, but I have some serious issues with this camp.
Apparently their was no running water on and off for several days, no hand washing and no toilet flushing. Which leads me into my second point, mass sickness! Was it a bug or food poisoning? I don’t know, but over 40 kids got sick after one meal. I had 2 children up at camp, both got sick. My 9 yr old daughter apparently there up on her sleeping bag, so what did they do about it? Call me, no. Wash it and let it dry in the sun, no. There it in a garbage bag and made her sleep with no bedding for 2 nights! UNACCEPTABLE! Also, I guess linked to the illnesses, 2 kids ran away and so they kept all the kids up till after midnight looking for them.
Communication with the staff was HORRENDOUS! we had an issue come on the way to drop off and there was no way to get ahold of the staff… The «emergency» number they provided in the email went to voicemail listing another number that was an answering service that said they don’t service Chauncey Ranch! Then they sent a mass email the day before pick up that sickness had been going around, if you want to check on your kid, call this number.
On the positive side, they did have some fun activities and make some friends though. My daughter says she won’t go back, my son says he would.
Pretty disappointed.
