The Cracked Egg

If you want a small town feel, then you came to the right place. Everyone here is extremely nice and makes you feel like you’re a regular. This was my first time being here. The food came in decent proportions and of course tasted pretty darn good! Btw, if you come after 11am they give you free ice cream after your meal! Ugh, you can’t beat that. Our server was Penny. She was spunky, had a great personality and I wouldn’t mind having her again.

Just a great place with great people. Working man style food and it’s good. Peace!

The food is amazing! Had the California burger and hubby had the classic cheeseburger. Definitely coming back!

Came here this morning with a couple friends. They both got skillets which they enjoyed. I got a coffee and the steak and eggs breakfast. Eggs were scrambled and tasted average. The biscuit was HUGE and very good with the side of gravy I ordered. The hash browns were also very good. Our waitress was kind and the service was about average time waiting. The only downside was the steak… I asked for medium rare and it came out pretty much well done… I might be back but probably won’t order the steak again.

Food is decent, services is horrible, I run out of coffee and one lady passed by and ignored us completely and did not ask us if we needed more coffee

Slipped into a food coma halfway through the meal. Service is great. Food is even better. Wear your stretchy pants!

What is up with the hard poached eggs???
I’m going to try to request it runny next time. A weird to thing to request for Eggs Benedict. The first time I thought it was an oversight. The second time made me believe it’s a regular thing, which it probably might be, according to the other reviews. Cmon, when the word ‘egg’ is in your title AND you’re a breakfast place…
It’s a shame because the chorizo eggs Benedict was very flavorful.
Service is generally very good and the area is clean despite the hustle and bustle.

Visiting from LA and we have so many restaurant options so when I tell you «This is a great place»!!! It is for reeeeaaaall.
Had the pancake, eggs and sausage… and stole some hash browns from my sister. My gosh am I full. So ooooo happy tummy

We were really bummed to discover that this neighborhood diner is nothing worth trying. Although it was cute when we walked in and sat at the checked counter, the service — while friendly — was almost as bad as the food. You expect a diner to be quick — especially at the counter. This one was not. And we could see our food sitting on the warmers for a few minutes before it came to our counter seats.
Once it arrived, however, we sort of wished it hadn’t. The chocolate chip waffle was flavorless except for the chocolate and so soggy I could barely get a bite down.
A country Benedict was poorly cooked, the biscuit doughy and the «poached» eggs practically hard boiled. The gravy wasn’t bad, but nothing could save the dish as a whole — especially given the bland, barely fried portion of limp hash browns that came out on the plate as a side.
We also ordered the BLT on sourdough which came with crinkle cut fries. Although a crinkle cut usually gives a fry more crevices to become crisp and salty, these fries were neither. A soggy pile of flavorless potatoes, I think frozen fries cooked at home in the microwave could have turned out just as well. And the bacon was fatty — and not in a good way. More like in the way that indicates to you the bacon was cheap and poor quality. And that was probably the best of our dishes!
We were eager to leave after this breakfast but, again, we had to wait some time to close out, which was frustrating given how close we were to the cash register. Now that we’re gone, we certainly won’t be back.

Hot and new place said Unilocal,I saw it and boom I had to go. So yeah… didn’t expect it to be a whole in the wall place to be honest.
The service here took awhile, for our beverages, order and the food. I had the vegetarian egg Benedict, It was mediocre. My eggs were overly cooked the yolk didn’t break. Booo. The hash brown was really soggy in the inside. Over all. I wasn’t too fond of this plac, nor the food.

We live near this location and have been here a number of times, as well as when it was Fast Eddie’s. Typical diner, but great service, clean, good portions, and tasty food. My fiancé and I are regulars on the weekend when we don’t feel like cooking or driving anywhere for a Sunday breakfast.

Great food, great service! This place has an amazingly wide and varied menu to choose from. I tried the Farmers Benedict and am in love! My fiancé and I are already planning what to get the next time we make it in!

I don’t know how to put it as I was trying hard to work on giving this place a high review. We came in here with the high expectation as it showed on Unilocal as a «hot and new place». The wait staff were very friendly and nice and the place looks like an old diner decorated with vintage style signage. The waitress was a sweet older lady that was very attentive to helping our party of 5.
Then came the food… my friends ham looked and tasted as if it were rubber and might have been a little undercooked. I myself ordered the Blu Cheese Burger. When my order came out the fries were the cafeteria type and not very tasty. The burger lettuce was yellow and the tomato looked tired. I thought to myself, I can move that to the side and just just eat as it. When I bit the burger, it tasted like really stale cheese… yuck…four hours later I still have the after taste in my tongue. I think they are trying, but idk if I will come back.

What a great place. We just moved to central and Glendale area and we’re looking for a «real» breakfast place. We have tried all the fufu and the pay for each item organic joints, but missed that simplistic eggs, bacon, and hash browns. This place rocks. Our waitress was incredible! Food was great. Pricing is perfect. I have nothing but positives here! It’s really nice to have found something down here :) happiness all around!

At 1^st look, I said, «Hmmnnnnn shall I dare?» Then I was greeted with an amazing waitress (Raven) and I asked for her recommendations for the Best Omelette.
She called out «Poncho!» *FOGETABOUTIT!!!* I’m a Fan.

Really really good food was really awesome first time here better than waffle house. I defenantly recommend this place I am buying a house nearby and wanted to try the local places.

I came here when this place was fast Eddies and it was good. The cracked egg is probably a little better based on my experience today. I came in on a Monday at 10am to avoid crowds and I’m glad I did. I was warmly greeted the second I walked in the door, taken to a table, served immediately and had fresh piping hot food in front of me within 5 minutes! Don’t know if fast Eddie could keep up with that! Service was great. Refills on coffee, checking back and the food was great. I had the meat lovers plate with toast and added a biscuit and gravy. The eggs were cooked perfect, the gravy wasn’t too thick or thin and the biscuit was nice and fresh. Good coffee and boy did I leave full. Will definitely be back to try the 4 or 5 different Benedict plates on tree menu.

Very good fresh tasting eggs! The strawberry banana topped pancakes were very good! And you even get a free scoop of ice cream with your meal Wow :)

Great place for a late breakfast! Nice to see a mixed type of clientele. Love the corned beef hash! Its hard to find a place that uses the canned kind. I’ll keep coming back just for that!
Sometimes the service is slow but its a fine time to catch up on life. So sit back, enjoy your meal, look out of the window.
And…you sometimes get free ice-​cream!!!

Decent classic breakfast $ 6.99. English muffin cooked perfectly not burned, bacon was a little fatty for my tastes, eggs cooked to order and hash browns were tasty. No complaints friendly and courteous staff.
