Please, please don’t use this Company for your move! Dan was horrible, and Jamie, our driver, lost an antique wagon wheel from Carefree, AZ… along with a dish pack and one other carton of our belongings. Their office staff is incompetent and rude. Because we did not buy the additional insurance coverage, it seems nothing could be done to get all our belongings in our move from Scottsdale, AZ to Plano, TX. The thing I’m most upset about is the rather large and heavy wagon wheel that went a missing. How could anyone not see that and then lose it, or rather steal it??? BUT they sure as hell when to a lot of trouble to get my big ‘outdoor pot’ and Bass Fiddle, which were not crated to TX. Jamie, the driver, was an absolute jerk to me…”.the little wife”(because he was tired from previous move.)… and on destination was as charming as could be to my husband. Where the hell is my antique original wagon wheel… you thieves???

It is safe to say that we finally have all of our belongings. My husband and I were disappointed in using Sullivan/Mayflower for our move. We ultimately decided to choose this company even though the cost was slightly more than a couple of other quotes that we had. We were under the impression that our truck would arrive approximately when we did, it arrived a week later. I guess if we would have read the small print on dates or had that explained to us, we probably would have selected the company that told us to ship our stuff at least 2 weeks before we were going to be in our destination(rather than 5 days). We were also assured that our TV’s would be packed safely. I will say that they did arrive with the screens intact, but unfortunately we had to order special parts from the manufacturer because the packers took thinks apart that were not meant to come apart. The were not broken in transit, they were taken apart. It is a hassel to be reimbursed for that by printing and faxing and waiting around for someone to come look at the boxes. On the bright side the truck driver was good with communication the tentative day of delivery as well as the contracted mover was very hard working and efficient. They were very pleasant and worked until 8:30pm unloading the truck.

We had a great experience with Mayflower. Dan came out twice to estimate the cost, and I believe, was very fair and honest. Our crew, led by Tom, were professional, courteous, and very helpful to this new mom who packed up the house by myself and probably needed more help from them on the loading end than other customers. All of my belongings arrived intact and before the promised date. The crew worked extra hard to get some of my oversized furniture in my undersized house. They went above and beyond, and I’m very happy with this team. I’d definitely recommend Tom and his partner(sorry I forgot his name). Debbie kept my husband up to date throughout the entire process and was also courteous and professional. This is the most positive moving experience I’ve had from beginning to end.

We all know movers yank you around and somehow find those last minute charges they promised were included… no exception here. What is even more sad is that their parent company UniGroup behaves the same way. Their words of wisdom for me prior to moving day when questioning the local movers practices, was that since I had not paid them yet; I was not their customer, therefore they refused to do anything. What happened in my situation was that even after being requested to do so, Sullivan would not come to my apartment building. The day before the move they drove by and informed me that there would be a ~$ 700 additional charge because of my apartment building. When I disputed, they said I could pay it or find someone else, but they would not lose money on this move. Seeing as it was the day before, I had no choice but to pony up. Oddly enough the actual moving staff was very good and professional. They worked hard and I appreciated that. Too bad they didn’t own their own service.
