Excellent food, warm family atmosphere, the owner is almost always present during dinner hours.

We really enjoyed the Cheese Steaks. The steak rolls were a little crusty and the flavor of the meat was perfect. I’m a fan of wet hots but you will have to settle for banana peppers at Strapasta. Their pizza looked amazing but was average in taste, perhaps because I added chicken, peppers and sausage which made the sauce bland. On a positive side the crust was perfect and they do offer a personal pizza option. Next time I shout try a pasta dish. This is a nice spot to frequent in Phoenix, MD.

Been coming here since I can remember! Great pizza, solid subs, and kind staff. I always leave satisfied. The cheese steak is particularly good.

Best pizza in area. Good steak subs and love their Greek salads. Everything else average.

5 star carry-out! The pizza is perfect. Not just for subs and pizza though. The pastas and entrees are way better than you’d expect. So much quality for the reasonable price.

I have eaten in Stapasta quiet a few times since my parents love it. I have a more partial opinion since I´m not too hot for Italian food. If you come here, trust me and stick to the Pizza. They try other Italian dishes like the classic pasta for example. However almost every time I´ve tried the pasta, the sauce isn´t as dense as I am used to in a pasta; their sauce is almost watery. Their pizzas are definitely their specialty and if this were a pizza restaurant I would give it a rating of 4 or 5 easily. They have great service and clean facilities, they just need to stop branching out into other Italian dishes because they just can´t cook them right.

First, imagine a good ‘olé Italian-American family owned restaurant with a great mix of Italian/American dishes, as well as a very down-to-earth and friendly staff. Then, go to Strapasta and let your imagination come to fruition. This place is great! Whenever I come in, I feel like I’m a part of the family. The staff is awesome and they make sure you feel right at home. The food is delicious and, when you order an Italian dish, tastes very authentic. Plus, the portions are quite filling and, in my opinion, perfectly priced. If you’d like to enjoy a wine with your noodles or a beer with your pizza, they offer a variety of drinks as well. With the Italian music in the background, I can honestly close my eyes and imagine myself eating in a restaurant in Napoli, Italy overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.(For an Italian dish, I recommend the Chicken Parmesan; for an American dish, try the Cheese-steak Sub; both are delicious!) I highly recommend coming by. In my opinion, this is the best place in Jacksonville to grab a bite to eat.

This is my first time in this area and my friend recommended this place. I was highly impressed. The serving sizes are big so you get more than your money’s worth. I’d highly recommend getting the chicken paesano, it’s amazing and something different. The owners are extremely sweet and caring and takes pride in this place.

I’m so spoiled by this location with their great pizza that I pretty much don’t get pizza anywhere else anymore. The prices are reasonable, the staff is usually friendly, and the location is clean. It’s a great place to hang out and get great food without blowing your budget.

So this place has some of the best pizza within 30 miles, better then many Brooklyn NYC pizza shops. They tend to dabble in higher end Italian cuisine, sometime they knock it out of the park sometime not, hit or miss. As a pizza shop this is 5 stars all the way, so they really need to decide what they want to be, if they want to be an Italian restaurant hire an Italian chef or just stick to what you are really good at.

We went here tonight for the first time and while I wasn’t blown away, I would like to go back and try other menu items. My fiancée ordered the shrimp scampi and while I understand that restaurant food is meant to be an indulgence and not always healthy, it appeared to be a heart attack waiting to happen with all the butter that was used. It did taste good though and was very rich. I just can’t imagine eating like that more than once per month. I had a slice of pizza because I wasn’t too hungry. It is better than many others I have tried in the area including Michael’s in Hereford. I would like to give this place another try and just not order the scampi again or fettucine in general.

(12/07/2013) Had take-out pizza at a party from La Trattoria by Strapasta. Good size pies. Very thin, chewy, crust, no lift(it’s a folder). Sauce was thin tomato-y, not seasoned, naturally slightly sweet. Had on it good quality cheese with high milk solids content, fresh vegetables that were chopped by hand, not bought chopped(green peppers and onions), quality meat(but sparse). Hawaiian had the standard canned pineapple. Overall decent pie and not from a chain.

I love strapasta’s pizza. I grew up on it and have always found it to be excellent. They also have really good subs and salads. The inside is not very large, although they did recently expand it a little. One thing that sucks about this place is that they don’t deliver. Also I have heard the management don’t treat their workers all too well, but hey, that’s food service. Anyway excellent restaurant, I would definitely go if you haven’t.

Tomato bread is killer. My other favorite is the eggplant parm sub. I think the prices are a little high for italian carry out(i.e. all the pasta dishes are like $ 15+) but the portions are pretty big and could feed 2 people.

I used to come here quite often for lunch and dinner since it is relatively inexpensive, however the quality of the food has declined over the years. Their tomato sauce is very watery and doesn’t have much flavor. Also, they only offer a few vegetarian items, which is a huge draw back for me. Since I am vegan, I would ask for dishes to be made without cheese and it became a running joke with the owners(nice, I know!). I must say, the décor reflects true Italia, however if you try to come at dinner time on any given night, forget it. There always seems to be a youth soccer or lacrosse team dining in, leaving no tables available. If you are lucky enough to get one, it’s usually too loud to hear yourself think. Bottom line-only come here if you are desperate and in the area.

I give this 5 stars because in the Monkton area. it’s as good as it gets! I’ve been a fan since the first week this went into business. They are passionate about their restaurant and the proof is in the pizza. Fresh mushrooms, great cheese and a crust that seals the deal. Best pizza around. I once asked if they would ever consider delivery and one of the owners said hopefully the pizza will stay good enough he doesn’t have to do that. Touché. Support local business, everything on the menu is great but I’m partial to the pizza to go. p. s. If you’re a little hungry sometimes I go in and get their little bread rolls stuffed with fresh tomatoes, onions and parsley. Only cost a dollar or two and MAN do they hit the spot if you need to eat a little something on the drive home ;)

This is not an Italian restaurant It is a pizza and sub shop. Their pasta and other entries are ok. See pics. Even the fried stuff is a bit bready. They serve beer but don’t have a bar. It’s more of a waiting room for the takeout people. Order out, go early and have a beer while waiting for your pizza. Good for family dining in since it’s somewhat loud.

Delicious subs. Try the cheesesteak. Feel like pizza? Go with the white pizza. And they serve beer now too.

Best pizza outside of north jersey. Their eggplant parm is the best I have ever eaten. In fact, it is one of the best items I have eaten at a restaurant anywhere. Good people, they support local schools and sports as well as putting out a high quality product.
