Lori and Gene run an organization who truly know mental illness and care for those suffering and terrified. they are the voice of thousands of stigmatized by labels. they offer remedies proven and train, educate and teach recovery of symptoms that the individual can use yo notice symptoms before they get bedded in their minds. getting proper treatment enabling the individual to be involved in their care. a good psychiatrist is needed to diagnose. too many called a professional’ psychologist’ label by using a book full of arrows that is not scientifically validated. the DMV IV has grown from half an inch to two 4 inch volumes. along with pharmaceuticals that can damage the mind if taken long term. average weight gain for women on on these «meds» average of 65 pounds. They often make their diagnosis from their best guess, often its their own projected issues. they even make the person they treat «believe what they have been labeled», a serious serious mental illness (SMI) made by these professionals that have been given power to destroy the minds of the brightest people in our country and history. most revered artists, writer, physicists etc. were suffering a chemical imbalance, a mental illness, and gave mankind the best of mankind thoughts, ideas, writings, and artists, presidents, etc. suffering. I am anti labels, and seeing those with 3 PhDs walking about over medicated, shuffling feet. drooling, no light in their eyes… this is inhumane. shame on trying to kill these minds with powerful drugs to have them the walking dead. id rather they have their uncommon quirkiness than the life taken from them whom don’t qualify to stigmatize and create zombies by their questionable questionable judgment, for most do not have the knowledge nor educated in brain chemistry, and untrained medically of behavior changes due to body inability to create the chemical fast enough and running on dry behaviors appear. mostly caused by stressors. having been an advocate for those without a voice, the places desensitized to human suffering, yet are given tax payers funds for care, treatment, and care, are inferior in all their services. Terros has a meth addiction rehab outpatient service. the success rate was 13% and are still funded. get real. start over and that is what Recovery Options offers. i know the owners, Lori Ashcroft PhD, acclaimed writer on the subject of recovery and Gene Johnson and their staff give their heart, full of empathy and compassion to each individual their hope and encourage to be part of their recovery. Don’t waste the State’s funding on bad programs and bored employees funding to continue giving less to the people they are charted yo
rid of those Organization’s treating by not treating those suffering a chemical imbalance (stakeholders like Terros) STOP funding for poor service with miserable outcomes.
I once was an advocate for special people. I was given in 2006 life time achievement award for my work in recovery. I believe in it and know the players. Be careful to whom you go to for help.
