Pax Pediatrics-Donni Fleischaker MD

Dr. Donni Fleischaker is in a league of her own on exemplary mefical care and compassion. My son Jacob has seen her since early childhood and at age 23, I can’t imagine switching physicians. Jacob is high on the Autism spectrum and had a history of panic with previous providers. As a mama bear, I often left appointments in disgust and despair about the sub-​par level of care he’d received from Medicaid providers. I’d had my fair share of scuffles with doctors. Concerns varied from an inability or unwillingness to take the time to put him at ease, speaking only to me instead of including him in dialogue or wanting to shove psychiatric medicine down his throat. Early on, I’d decided pharmaceuticals would be a last resort to allow his young brain develop as naturally. We’d quit seeing providers from behavioral health field due to providers prescribing narcotic or other strong drugs without proper assessment. He was treated as a number, rather than the unique and wonderful guy he is. After years of seeing a Pediatrician that seemed indifferent, a friend recommended Dr. Fleischaker. She’d treated her children for many years and she was elated with her. From the moment we walked into Pax Pediatrics, this vicious cycle came to an end. Dr. Donni Fleischaker was a true God send. She spoke to both of us as with dignity and respect. I’d had Jake at a young age and have had my own fair share of struggles. I’d grown accustomed to feeling less than, immature or erratic for wanting the best for him. Sometimes my approach was perceived negatively due to frustration. Dr. Fleischaker treated me kindly and took the time to educate me and learn about Jacob, rather than treat him like a number. Her first hand knowledge of raising a child with special needs is an added bonus. I was anxious about finding an M.D. of her caliber for his adult years. At age 23, I have not had to do so. At 6’4″, he has outgrown the chairs and toys in her waiting room, but still gets to see the finest of physicians. We’re both put at ease and treated with the utmost respect. As a mom, I find comfort in knowing he is getting the best of care. I don’t know how she does it, but her office staff is equally fabulous. At times we’ve had to see P. A’s that are interning with her and they share her passion for top notch patient care. I don’t think this is a coincidence. She takes pride in her practice and it shows. Over the years, we’ve faced a few difficult times, Dr. Fleischaker has allowed for those times to be as seamless as possible. I don’t normally write reviews, but was shocked to see Dr. Donni Fleischaker from Pax Pediatrics had no reviews. If you’re looking for top-​notch medical care for a loved one, look no further. The days of long waits, sub-​par care and feeling like a number with AHCCCS providers are over. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Dr. Donni Fleischaker. Jacob and I owe you a debt of gratitude.
