I’ve heard about this place quite a bit, and a friend suggested it for our breakfast date since it’s one of her favorites. It’s small but has nice outdoor seating. I ordered a small chai latte and a breakfast sandwich(25% off with Unilocal checkin). I like my egg fried over easy and added arugula, tomatoes, avocados and artichokes. It was pretty tasty, and I enjoyed my drink. It didn’t have too much caffeine and sugar, which is a nice change from what I’m unfortunately used to. They’ve got nice selections for lunch too, so I may have to stop by again and try those. Glad I made it out here.

I am beyond PISSED at myself for taking so long to find this gem! I work 3min away from this place and I’m so happy to have found it. Breakfast plates are so good & their sandwiches are amazing as well. Haven’t tried the coffee here yet but it looks just as good. Now I’m here 2 – 3 times a week at least. Currently typing this review as I eat one of their Turkey sandwiches(which I highly recommend btw.) Don’t let the surroundings scare you away because this place is awesome!

Hidden cool spot. Food and ambiance consistently excellent. Like the simplistic approach but portions a bit dainty. Black coffee works here.

I stopped by this place on my way home from work. The neighborhood is sketchy but the inside of this place is beautiful. I had a breakfast croissant with bacon, Gruyère cheese, arugula and carmelized onions. It was the best I’ve ever had! The croissant itself was perfection. I also loved the lavender green iced tea.

Food was ok. Cute place. Meatloaf sandwich would be better with warm meatloaf and not cold. Won’t be back because two cooks with long beards with no hair net. And one with no cap or hairnet. #healthcodeviolation

Great lattes. Awesome baked goods prepared in store. Try the pork chile verde(picture an individual pot pie tipped by a homemade biscuit) and the lemon ricotta pancakes — light and fluffy served with fresh berries. Friendly staff and nice local coffee shop atmosphere.

Breakfast the most important meal of the day. Its been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Ollie Vaughn’s is probably one of the best places for breakfast in town. Not only is the service and food fantastic at Ollie Vaughn’s but, where else can you get a delicious, made from scratch breakfast for $ 6 bucks. I love the biscuits and gravy at Ollie Vaughn’s, however the French toast is always a good choice. The french toast is thick, crispy, and fluffy light in the middle, just like French Toast should be. On my next visit I plan on trying the«build-your-own breakfast sandwich» which are also made to order. You can choose between a croissant or a biscuit, then you get to load it up with your choice of meat, cheese, and veggies. So if your searching for the most important meal of day that won’t be break the bank look no further Ollie Vaughn’s is the place for you.

I love going to this place. Called in an order today for 2 croissant breakfast sandwiches, one with sausage and one with bacon. I added a few things this time, and I have to say the roasted tomatoes and peppers really add a nice touch. Also got a chai tea latte. Seriously this place can do no wrong, everything was ready when we got there and cooked perfectly! Thank you Ollie Vaughn’s :)

Ollie Vaughn’s is the kind of place where you taste the food and you realize most of the other places you gave 4 or 5 stars on Unilocal need downgraded. I only go for the breakfast items, but everything I’ve had really is that good.

Their lemon bars are gigantic! And only 3.50! It helped make up for the«large» $ 8 salad that was pretty much overpowered by bacon. I love bacon, but damn! I think for an $ 8 salad it needs to have more stuff in it that you can taste, besides the bacon. Plus the container’s only half full so it’s like a cup and a half of salad that you get for $ 8. I think I’ll try some of their other offerings and update the review but I was sorely disappointed with the salad.

I found this spot on Unilocal,I was looking for a local joint with amazing food and this was it. I had the biscuit and gravy, which was amazing. The bottom has half the biscuit, then gravy, the top half, and an egg on top. DAMN! It was delicious. And great prices. I love to support local biz, I’ll be back to this one.

Totally unexpected awesome coffee/breakfast/lunch spot in the ghetto. Stumbled across Ollie’s while working across the street at the homeless youth drop-in center, and I was totally surprised to find that gentrification was happening even here. I mean, I understand that hipsters are into gentrification. It’s what they do. And generally speaking I’m totally in favor of gentrification. But this is a truly decrepit part of the ghetto. Strip joints, homeless shelters, etc. Lots of hipster joints move onto the border of the ghetto, or into an area that’s already been hipsterized. Ollie’s has nerve to move onto McDowell and Food City, so props to them. In the spirit of Ollie Vaughn’s, here’s my theory on the beautiful process of gentrification in the urban ecosystem: 1) A city starts 2) Everybody lives together 3) Industry springs up in the downtown area 4) Rich people don’t want to live next to industry/poor people 5) –} suburbs 6) Downtown becomes«ghetto» 7) Low housing prices attract hipsters 8) Hipsters start Ollie Vaughn’s 9) Poor people/hipsters coexist 10) Area becomes«trendy» thanks to Ollie Vaughn’s 11) More hipsters 12) More trendy 13) MOREHIPSTERS 14) Hipster critical mass reached, housing prices skyrocket 15) Rich millennials move in from suburbs 16) ^ housing prices even more 17) Poor people can’t afford housing 18) Poor people move to X suburb, where rich people used to live 19) Full gentrification achieved, hipsters mourn mecca 20) Repeat cycle in new poor neighborhood, starting at #7 The way I see it hipsters are like the gastrointestinal process. You start with something totally useless, like a $ 7 breakfast sandwich, after Unilocal check in, loaded with carmelized onions, arugula, tomatoes and bacon. An Ollie Vaughn breakfast sandwich. You’re body doesn’t know what to do with the sandwich. So you put it in your mouth and eat it. And like hipsters in the ghetto, your digestive process starts breaking down this delicious meal into things it can use. Bacon turns into a new protein molecule, maybe a gym in an abandoned warehouse. The croissant turns into a trendy new carbohydrate, maybe an upscale loft converted from a brick and mortar department store. The arugula turns into fiber, which, like the hipsters themselves, helps push all the poor byproduct out of this newly re-energized system so that it can go stink up some other neighborhood, ultimately serving as fertilizer for the next arugula plant to grow. And they really do have good coffee, and their breakfast sandwiches are bomb, and occasionally they play rare old-timey Western tunes. So come here and eat, and maybe give a dime to the homeless dude in the parking lot while you can. He’ll be gone soon enough, and this neighborhood will be bland once again, with only Ollie Vaughn’s here to remind us of what was. Pros: Delicious food, gentrification Cons: Poverty: coming to a neighborhood near you

Quiet. Cute. Friendly. Delicious. Lemon bars for days! I’m reviewing late, since I went for the first time about a year ago, but I have been jonsin’ for another lemon bar since. Could a person ask for anything more? No. The answer you’re looking for is no.

I am in this area a lot and have been wanting to check out Ollie Vaughn’s, but always seem to around when it is closed, but one Sat I was just on time and happy to see it was opened! This is such a cute shop, everyone is friendly and helpful, I love the outside patio seating area. The sweets on display looked amazing, next time I have to come back hungry. They even serve breakfast all day. I ordered an iced coffee, and it delsih! Perfect for my Saturday adventures, since my son moved in this area, I know I will become a regular in no time!

Found Ollie Vaughns by accident and have been incredibly surprised. The atmosphere is really great. Music and the set up of an incredible local café. Service was incredible. I had a breakfast sandwich with turkey, Gruyère, green chilis, over medium egg on a biscuit. It was cooked absolutely perfectly as were the pancakes my wife got. Couldn’t think of anything I would change or like to see done differently.

Inside: cute and has a nice flow. Food quality: pretty decent. I felt that they just clumped everything in my salad. Food quantity: not great. I mean, I get that these salads are supposed to be unique and small but I mean, for $ 8.00 and no meat I wasn’t necessarily impressed. Speed: bad. It took them 50 minutes to 1 hour to get 2 salads, 2 sandwiches and 1 soup. I get it, they might have been rushed before hand but there was ZERO communication about it. I truly found the food to be up to par but not necessarily good for the price. I don’t know that I’ll come back. I will say the pastries/desserts looked pretty delicious though!

this place was my first spot upon my first visit in Arizona! it was around the corner of my hotel & had good Unilocal reviews. I decided to come here with my husband & we ordered their famous breakfast sandwiches. it was as good as the locals described. however, they misplaced my order & charged me for a piece of cake when I didn’t order any pastry & cooked my husbands egg over easy when he requested medium cooked. so, that was upsetting. I informed them I was charged extra & they never came back around to refund me or apologize. that was even more upsetting. Also, the portion of the breakfast sandwich was small. it did not fill up my stomach. overall, besides the confusion & extra charge, it’s still a place to stop by.

Came here for an early lunch. Got a charred grilled cheese and a kale salad, and I must say ITWASFREAKINDELICIOUS! We split the two and it was the perfect amount of food, and at 11 bucks you can’t beat it. The staff here is super awesome, always helpful and friendly, and the space is great. I would rank the patio as one of my favorites in town. The pastries also look delectable. All in all, if you want a good breakfast or lunch, GOTOOLLIEVAUGHN’S!
