Very bad customer service. The doctor was the only one that had very excellent customer service and great to talk to. He even explain and answer any questions you had. But that front desk need training on there customer service. I will never come back to this place due to the way I got treated. My glasses was very blurred and I was told to give it a week to adjust and I still couldn’t see out of them. I had to go to a different vision company just to see and receive better customer service. Now my husband is going through the same problem. Can’t get help from the front desk just because we are black and not white or Mexican. We had to seat there for 45 minutes before someone decide to help my husband to look for a set of glass. So sad when you get better customer service in the upper rich class area.

I wish I would have seen these reviews before I made my appointment… I have pretty good eyesight. Unfortunately, now that I work on a computer for the vast majority of my work day, I noticed I was having issues focusing after a while. The only reason I’m mentioning that is to say I don’t have much experience with eye doctors. This was the first time in almost ten years since I’ve been to one. I went to nationwide on baseline and 7th because it was close and the first on the list of in-network providers for my insurance. Mistake mistake mistake I will NEVER go back there. I figured they have to be better than Americas best or any of those cheap places? NOPE. My appointment was 10÷2÷14 at 10:30 am. I arrived early to fill out my paperwork. The only good thing I can say was — good first impression. Bright. Fancy. Clean. And they spoke English as a primary.(some times it’s kinda awkward being the only white girl in the area lol). So I felt welcome. But then I handed in my paperwork. And waited. And waited. And waited. The technician was standing at the end of the desk chit chatting with the other girls. I was getting pissed. I had to go to work later — I didn’t have all day. Finally, she takes me back. She was waiting for the other girl to manually input my info. The exams themselves weren’t bad. The tech was fine. Machines were kinda gross, though. The doctor was great. He spent plenty of time answering my questions. So then I go back out to pick frames. My eyes were dilated so one of the girls helped me. Got all that good stuff done — then for more paperwork. I unfortunately have to pay up front and get reimbursed from insurance, so there’s a form for the clinic to fill out. The girl hands it back to me and says it’s good to go. WITHDILATEDEYES I COULDSEESHEMISSEDINFORMATION! So I told her and she was embarrassed and filled it in. Well of course, when I got home, I saw like half that paper wasn’t filled out. That pissed me off. But, because I hate driving on baseline so much, I figured I would just wait to pick up my frames and then have them correct the issue. That was supposed to be 10 – 14 business days. Fast forward to today. SIXWEEKSLATER. Why the hell did it take SIXWEEKS for a pair of glasses??? They’re not bifocals! They’re nothing fancy! Omg I’m so mad. So I let the girl know I wasn’t happy. And I said she needs to correct my paperwork. Well she couldn’t. She didn’t know how. And the doctors signature was missing and he won’t be in until Friday. So I will have to make a third trip just to get a damn signature. Seriously?! How is this place even in business! Do not waste your time! Good thing I’m not blind or that would have been an even longer six weeks… Don’t go. Ever. Those girls are more concerned with their cell phones than customer service. I cannot wait to speak with the manager on Friday.

610 E Baseline Very disappointed. Dr. Melfi, was extremely inflexible. I went to pick up my husbands rx and he required that my husband return in person to confirm that the rx was correct. Based on my spouses schedule that created an issue. When I ordered online from another company, he refused to add a brand to the rx,(not change the rx) just add a different brand, unless my husband returned in person to do so. We will not be returning for future business. I have found another optometrist, who is not only much better priced, but also much more flexible and customer service oriented.

After reading the reviews on Unilocal I was thinking of talking an elderly friend out of going here when he asked me to drive him to get his eyes checked. With very low expectations I decided not to meddle and do what he asked. It just goes to show businesses can and do change! We walked into a very nice, clean suite after finding ample parking out front in the plaza. It was clean and the staff were friendly and attentive and got us set up immediately with the typical clipboard and paperwork. With a short wait I helped my friend back to an exam room to find clean, state of the art equipment and a thorough exam was completed. A the end I actually mentioned to the Dr. I was pleasantly surprised based on things I’d read online and he was not surprised at past impressions. He usually works in another Nationwide location and has covered this office at times for many years. He shared that it had been renovated about a year ago and is very pleased with it’s renovation. With our experience I believe now this is a great asset to the community. Staff were great and we found the experience very good.

My review is for the 16th St and Camelback store. I could not seem to find a link so I am writing one here. With todays economy I am surprised Nationwide does not go out of its way to have better customer service. I won’t be going back and I have been a customer for over 4 years. Now I find that sad since I love the Dr. at this location.(Or at least the one they had) Last year I went there and bought a years supply of contacts, which I do every year because I have great insurance and the promised manufacturers rebate.(Which I have been promised but have not received the last two years. This past year it was because I was not a Canadian resident. HELLO??? This is your first warning about Nationwide. They say the manufacturer has a rebate and many people never get them even though they have sent in all the correct info. I found 100s of blogs online about this) In July I found that one of the 6 pack boxes of my lenses were dysfunctional and another box was empty.(I was in Florida on vacation. Thank God I had another box with me!) But because they are monthly lenses that left me two months short of a year. When I tried to get Nationwide to give me some replacement they gave me only one causing me to have a shortfall for three– five weeks with no working lenses.(Parent –Teacher conferences this week are pretty fun because I can not read data sheets or see my computer screen since I am using two year old lenses right now. Also, I am sure there are a ton of spelling and grammar mistakes in this review. Sorry about that. I am blind as a bat right now and for the next 2 weeks-LOL) I called Nationwide about the issue as soon as I got back into town and they said it was a manufactures problem that happen every now and gain. I reminded them that they sold me the lenses and asked if they were Ok knowing they were selling lenses at 120 dollar a six pack that were either empty boxes or defaults. I also complained about the apparent lack of rebates they are promising. The women than got very testy with me and said, «take it up with them. It is not our problem?(After making it out like I was lying and talking to me like I was a 6 year old. I hate that. That is one sure way to get my gander up.) When I called back to make an appt I was not told until a week later and the day before my exam that I could not come in the next day because my years insurance did not kick in until two weeks later from that day.(Really, the day before? I made the appt over a week ahead of time and they waited until 4pm the day before to call me???) She then said, «Well you can come in as a cash pay customer.» OMG what an idiotic thing to say. I could pay way over 800 dollars or more when I only have to pay 60 with my insurance. And she said it in a very demeaning way. I asked for another pair of lenses to hold me over and was flat out refused saying it was to long after I bought them. So Nationwide, I have a question for you. Since you are endorsing purchasing a years supply of lenses with a non existent rebate offer and then not making good on dysfunctional ones isn’t that kind of, dishonorable, illegal, and immoral business behavior? Am I suppose to open every contact lense box, try on the lenses, and check them beforehand? And then how do I repack them so they stay wet for a year? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! Sorry I am taking my business elsewhere. Beware folks, beware! I think they should be reported to the county attornies office. And the last review about the dirt. YIKES! That is extremely frightening in Swine flue society. And heaven forbid folks we are talking about a persons eyes!!! Shame on them!

Eww. Yuck. I went to this Nationwide because it was close to my house, thinking it couldn’t be that bad. I was very wrong. First off the girls working there were more concerned with talking about their boyfriends than addressing me when I walked in. I had to tell them I was here for an appointment 3 times before they actually took action. The lack of service can be forgiven but the overall cleanliness is what is prompting only one star. When I went in to take the eye tests I knew I was in trouble. The three machines they have all looked very old and very dirty. When I had to rest my chin and forehead on the first machine I decided to just deal with it and shower once I got home. They do not clean their machines after each use, so I was resting my chin and forehead in grease(face grease not mine = disgusting). Same goes with all the other machines, filthy and greasy. The worst part? I had to take my new contacts into the bathroom to try them on. They didn’t have a fitting area and the bathroom(toilet seat up) was filthy. If you are going to send people to the bathroom to put in new lenses the bathroom should at least be kept clean.
