I was diagnosed with breast cancer June of 2014. I went through the normal conventional treatment of chemo, bilateral mastectomy and radiation. Unfortunately, while conventional medicine may have a great treatment plan, they don’t have much to offer for aftercare other than to tell me to lose weight and exercise. I knew that before I was finished with conventional treatment, I wanted to see Dr. Psenka with Longevity Medical Health Center. I was seeing a naturopath before the diagnosis and she highly recommended him to me. I have to say that ever since I walked into the door at Longevity Medical on Dec 3, 2014, I have felt like a part of the family. The staff care about me and I feel it every time I talk to any one of them in the office. They all know me by name, situation and bend over backward to help me with anything that I need. I am now getting Vitamin C IVs, cancer fighting supplements and Im seeing their Care Coordinator to help me with my eating plan/exercise plan to help prevent any cancer recurrence. The Care Coordinator even emails me weekly just to see how Im doing and encourages me. I talk to her about challenging situations I may have and she helps me work through them with different ideas so that I can stick to my plans. I can’t get this type of care and attention with my conventional doctors and believe me… I have quite a few conventional docs. LOL Now I know that Longevity offers more than just cancer care, but this has been my experience with Dr. Psenka and staff. I know that once Im finished with my cancer aftercare I will continue going to Longevity Medical for my regular health maintenance. I would give them 6 stars if I could! They are truly THAT caring!

I was a patient here for several years and their office management practices leave a lot to be desired. If we were to be honest, I think we’d find that to be the case in MANY medical offices; the staff are not particularly professional or friendly, booking follow up appointments falls to the patient, follow up care is non-existent and the medical practitioner doesn’t seem to remember the finer details of your file. I’ve come to expect this and, to some degree, accept this. But shouldn’t things be different at a naturopathic practice! When you are paying out of pocket, expensive bills(it’s $ 350 for an initial assessment) the care should be much more personalized and the experience more gratifying. If I wanted to be treated like just another patient, I would be going to a regular doctor and paying a $ 35 copay! For years, I paid a minimum of $ 150 per visit and I was still made to feel like a statistic in their office. Today was the last straw. My doctor left this practice and, obviously, her patients weren’t notified. I don’t know what’s standard in these situations, but considering that she prescribes me a monthly medication, a little forewarning seems like the minimum courtesy. Regardless, perhaps the person answering the phone could have been understanding? Nice? Professional? No such luck. I guess this is a blessing in disguise; the(not so gentle) push to find what I’m really looking for; a medical practice where the care AND the practice management are patient-centric.
