I cannot believe I can write a review specifically about the 143 exit on the 1 – 10. I have so much to say — so much I have wanted to get off my chest for quite some time now. I’ve had this augmenting frustration accumulating inside of me for YEARS as every day I stress and sweat over attempting to cross over multiple lanes of traffic in order to get onto the 143. The problem is that preemptively positioning yourself in the right hand lane will backfire when the 60 merges. In the right hand lane, you will be stuck behind a truck driver whose truck has a set 60mph maximum speed, or a 92-year old grandmother who has had her blinker on since last Tuesday. When the 60 merges, you will have all the speeding, tailgating, oversize truck driving loonies ONYOURRIGHTSIDE. And none of those crazycakes are going to slow down and let you over. You may as well just leave your blinker on like granny. I have found the best thing to do is stay in the left lane for as long as possible… turn on your blinker, say a prayer, grip your handle bars and just change over those 6 lanes as fast as possible. I mean, yeah, you will age three years every day you do this during rush hour traffic, but at least you will make it onto the 143. Now, the 143, on the other hand… THAT is a five star freeway!

What the hell happened to you city planners brains while planning THIS particular highway!
I travel and have traveled on Highways a lot, and this exit is the most idiotic thing out there. Whenever I have to take it,(and I take it a lot since we are at the zoo almost weekly) I cringe. First as you want to go in the lane that exits to I-10 there is a ton of traffic coming from the right. Doesn’t matter what time it is. So you have to watch out for THAT! And once you do get into the lane, there are tons of car coming flying at you from both sides to be able to get into the lane and braking like hell because they were going at 100mph and now suddenly have to start driving at 10mph. So then you have to watch out for THATANDTHAT tooooooooo??? And of course when it is a busy time of day. Forget it. Nobody lets you in, and if its you that’s in the exit lane, you don’t let anyone in either. Only at this exit have I experienced such Texan driving(i know, i had to cuss) in Phoenix!!! Why?! oh Whyyyy? City planners! Do something! This road needs a lot of your attention and you are not doing anything! Whyyyyy? Meh.
