An amazing teacher. Even on the first lesson I was playing along with a green day song. He will work with your schedule and help push you as hard as you want. Very reasonable pricing. And just an awesome atmosphere.

As a 50 year old rock drummer that last took lessons in the 8^th grade, I have to tell you that I was a bit apprehensive at first. I scheduled my first lesson not really knowing what to expect. I found his studio was comfortable, well equipped and non-​threatening. Brett’s enthusiasm and teaching style is refreshing. He connects well with his students and is very patient.
Brett is an awesome instructor and an amazing drummer. His prices are very affordable, really for the price it would be hard to find a better drummer willing to talk with you let alone teach you! I would fully recommend DrummersRule! to any aspiring drummer at any experience level. And for you older folks, yes you can teach an old dog new tricks.

I was fortunate enough to be able to take lessons with Brett and learn some jazz patterns and other various technique/​style/​rhythms. Brett has a different approach to teaching where he’ll give you a rudiment/​piece of music and let you feel it out and play it, but instead of standing over your shoulder and making you feel nervous, he leaves the room and let’s you feel more relaxed and comfortable. At first I was a little annoyed that I was paying for a lesson and that he was somewhere else tending to other things while I struggled away, but after a lesson or two I realized he was listening and that this approach made it easier for me to play loose and not stress over mistakes.
When I took lessons with him he had 4 high end Roland electronic sets and a beautiful Yamaha maple stage custom. I hated the electronic kits and Brett usually went out of his way to schedule time for me on the maple. So if electronic kits aren’t your thing, just let Brett know and he’ll make sure you’re happy.
Also, the value is insane. You will not find a better deal from a better instructor anywhere in Arizona. And obviously, part of the business model is based on him leaving the room to help other students. However, if you take lessons with Brett, you will become a better a drummer and at a fraction of a the cost if you were to go somewhere else.
