Downtown Barber Shop

I used to work downtown across from this barbershop and since I hated having to get haircuts over the weekend, this was perfect for me. I actually started coming here more than 12 years ago before the current owner. They were okay barbers.
But since Eddie took over I have been a loyal patron for almost 10 years. He is a true master at his craft and it shows.

What a great experience, walked right in & nothing but a great vibe, quick cut and shave. The lady that cut my hair covered all the bases and then some on a great cut, shave, and personal touch. I will definitely be back, and if you work downtown and need a quick clean up this is a great place.

FANTASTIC! Saw Eddie for the first, but not last, time today. This is a real barber shop. Eddie has a great personality. He made great conversation, not that awkward small talk you get at some shops because the beautician was taught to make small talk. Now onto the real business — the haircut. Again, nothing negative to say here. Eddie did a great job with my hair — it was exactly the style I am accustomed to. More importantly was the beard work. If you are looking for a real beard barber you can find one in Eddie. This is not your typical clipper style beard trim. Eddie spent as much time on my beard as my hair. He used scissors and where necessary blended with clippers. Great work. I am very pleased to find Eddie and the Downtown Barber Shop. Go see him soon!

Great place to get a haircut! Eddie, the owner, was incredibly friendly, and accommodating when I only had a card (cash only here!). While Downtown Barber Shop specializes in men’s professional haircuts and shaves, they also style women’s hair, and did a great job with mine! Well definitely be going back here for more haircuts in the future.

The Downtown Barber Shop is the epitome of a man’s place! Great location. Great ambiance. Great barbers. If you are going for the first time ask for Eddie! First chair! You will never go to another barber shop again! Eddie runs the place and he has been doing so for a long time. You will find yourself involved in a friendly conversation and you will be absolutely pleased when you walk out that door! He does a fabulous job. His associate Paul is also excellent. Just tell them what you would like and it will be done! You’ll love it!

Eddie is the man. On a Saturday I was looking for a barber shop in Phx. Could not find one, I called this shop and they were closed but Eddie told me to come in since he picked up phone and he would cut my hair not a problem. Great hair cut and even better overseas conversation.

Best haircut I’ve ever had. Super nice barbers, right by the light rail, and they won’t «break your bank». Definitely coming here every 3 weeks.

The best barbers in town!!! Highly recommend their services. I have been oping here for over a year now and have had nothing but good experiences.

Good service. Good location downtown. $ 16 for my haircut. Cut the sideburns off without asking, and generally wasn’t the best haircut, but other than that — solid experience all around.

Went for a straight razor shave… Excellent! Or !! Trimmed down with a razor then trimmed around the ears… Did the shave with all the trimmings! Quite good attention to detail and of course the hot towels felt great. To end it he straight razored the side burns and back of the neck and as if that wasn’t enough he styled my hair as if he just cut it too! He went way above and beyond to make sure I would be a return client and yes I will be back. This place just won over a new client! Excellent job and highly recommend this place. The price is very very reasonable and less expensive than most… Go see them for your shave!

Was worth every penny. Just a FYI bring cash cause they don’t take cards… But the gift shop next door can accommodate you if you forget… I will go back again

Best shop in PHX. Pricing and atmosphere of this old school shop is great. The owners name is Eddie, so make sure you see him for a cut because once he cuts your hair you’ll never go to anyone else. I commute 30 minutes every other Friday just to get a cut here. Oh, bring cash because he no longer takes cards.

Good haircut, but you can get that a lot of places. I had to listen to the barber talking about how «the gays are ruining this society» trough the haircut. Having a gay sibling, and having seen the hate cast at her by people, I just can’t enjoy spending my money and time on people who perpetuate these attitudes.

This is a classic old school barber shop! It you want to feel at home, Eddie will make you feel like you and him have been friends for years. Great hair cut! And Danny revived my loafers to look better than new, great shoe shine! Where else can you get a great cut, warm shave, and shoe shine? This is the place to go! Would recommend to anyone and will for sure visit again next time I am in town. Thanks again Eddie and Danny!!!

Eddie is one of the best barbers I have ever gone to. He is very precise and cuts your hair with pride and dedication. 5 stars!

To hell with the rules! I’m giving Eddie’s Downtown Barber Shop six stars whether Unilocal says I can or not!
Yes, so this is my first 6-​star review. The shop that it was before earned the first five and, by adding a bodacious shoe shiner recently, they have now earned an ultra-​rare sixth. Brenda & Danny now cover me pretty much literally head-​to-​toe.
And damn do my boots look goooooood.

Eddie the owner really knows how to trim a beard. It is hard to find someone who does a really good thorough job. I have had my hair cut by one of the ladies who works there and it was a good cut. Also, the shoe shine guy there is top notch.
Prices are on par for what you pay downtown.

Good haircut, good price. They took their time and asked me exactly what I wanted. It’s a small place with only three chairs, so it could be a bit of a wait if there’s a crowd. Everyone was really friendly and I’ll definitely be coming back.
Caveat: The normal cut is $ 18, but there’s a $ 2 student discount. I realized this all too late as I was walking out but now I know for next time. Also know that they add a $ 2 charge if you use any credit card. I think that’s a rip-​off (knowing that cards only take at most 3% of the sale) but I digress. I’ll be sure to bring cash with me next time.
My haircut: $ 18 cut + $ 2 card charge + $ 4 tip = $ 24 (card)
Next time: $ 16 student cut + $ 4 tip = $ 20 (cash)
