What a great place! We sat on the patio, which was really nice to people watch. I’m not sure if there were hooks on tables or the bar rail, if so great, but if not, it would be nice because I had no where to put my purse. I had it sitting on the bar rail and it made me really nervous when a gentleman that was mumbling to himself came walking by. I really liked the salsa and how they served it in squeeze bottles. I had the Pacific Chicken Burrito and I thought it was quite tasty and fresh. My daughter had a bean burrito and it looked very fresh. My husband had the Barbacoa bowl and he said it was good. We only had water to drink, because we were on our way to a musical and didn’t want to be tired. But their drink menu looked promising for our return visit. The prices just blew me away! I couldn’t believe the chips and salsa were a dollar(happy hour) and my burrito was under nine dollars. Our entire meal including tip was $ 25.00. That’s pretty unbelievable for an app, and three meals. I should also mention that everyone we came in contact with was so nice! No pretentiousness to be found, and you’ve really gotta love a place like that, especially when you’re a little older and you think a place only caters to the young and hip. Can’t wait to come back with just hubby or girlfriends and catch a show.

We came here to see The Soft Moon and to eat tacos! The tacos were pretty dang good. They were fresh and served very quickly. Out of the selection we had the pork(al pastor), tinga chicken and fish tacos. Their beer selection if above average. Only complaint is they serve their drinks in plastic cups. This imparts a weird taste, in my humble opinion. The staff we encountered were all very nice and accommodating. The venue itself is intimate, but the sound system was good and didn’t distort the sound. For $ 10 to see a national act + two opening acts(which I was assuming were local kids) it was a good value. I really wish we had something like this in SW Colorado. I would not hesitate to make the 7.5 hour drive to this venue again.

Took a gamble coming here for the 2015 New Year’s Eve block party this past year, but I am glad my group did this place. Albeit crowded, it was a big enough venue to actually move around, hear yourself within a conversation you’re having with others, and listen to great jazz music. Nice staff and clean restrooms as well!

Amazing does not begin to describe this resultant/bar/venue. Upon first glance, the gastro pub seems to be a small but cool little restaurant and bar with good outdoor seating. Once one passes through the second door, however, the real magic takes hold. Behind the second door is a heathy sized concert area and large bar draped across the back wall. So many great shows have been enjoyed here by myself. It’s a wonderful venue that gives an intimate feel to every show. If you do decide to eat you will not be disappointed. The guacamole is amazing and the southwest salad will always treat you right.

Went there for NYE. Met Charlie on the street. He welcomed us into the party. 80’s music, rat pack music and EDM. We came in search of excitement and found what we were looking for. The staff were all very energetic and smiling. My friend and I will certainly be back soon. Thank you Charlie for such a memorable night!

Okay, I really love Crescent, they have great food, great drinks, great shows, and it’s all reasonably priced. Yesterday I got a bean and cheese burrito with chips for only $ 3 as part of Happy Hour pricing. Plus, they bring 2 salsas to your table, the orange one is my favorite. They probably made one of my favorite amaretto sours there, ever, it was just right. I’ve seen quite a few bands play here and there’s always good musicians there and the quality of the system they have is always good.

The wife and I were staying in Phoenix for the Vikings/Cardinals game this week and were looking for something to do after a disappointing Viking’s loss. How lucky was I that the Roadway Inn was two blocks away from this little secret gem? We got a little appetizer type sampling of food with some amazing guacamole and a super good bean and cheese burrito. I was also a huge fan of the Coronado Water(tequila, agave nectar, grapefruit bitters, and soda water). It was very refreshing and tasty. The relaxed vibe at this place was also just what we were looking for. Good music being played, friendly staff, and some old skate videos on the tv’s. They also have live music many nights a week. I was surprised to see Finch was playing there soon. It would be a cool place to see bands because it is pretty small and intimate. A must visit if in the Phoenix area.

I came to the Crescent Ballroom for a drink and to play trivia with some colleagues of Nicole H.‘s, even though she was working, poor dear. Anyway, her colleagues are smart, and I figured this team that I’d landed on would just walk away with the prizes. Not. Unless one counts placing 13th as a win. If you come here to partake, be prepared to be hammered by the trivia local experts. I’m not sure if these people just knew the category ahead of time and spent most of their waking hours memorizing little known facts about Arnold Schwarzenegger(the category that night). Whatever. It was fun. The emcee will do a great job of keeping the game lively, and the waitstaff will do their part in serving drinks and appetizers. I’m not sure what else happens at this location, but I am counting the days for a trip downtown for Trivia night again.

What’s not to love! How can a place called the Crescent Ballroom not be an experience! It is not a place where little old ladies dodder around, looking for a handsome, dashing, debonair dance partner. It is also not a place for the faint of heart who wish to challenge the trivia gods on a Sunday night. It is primarily a music venue where local acts can hone their skills in front of an appreciative audience of just post adolescent audiophiles. If you do venture out on a Sunday evening to play trivia here, be prepared to be completely destroyed by the local experts. They really know their stuff. There is some parking around back and I think you have to pay unless you are a gambler. The food choices are limited but they do have an eat-your-face-off plate of nachos that should satisfy anyone’s hunger. The drink choices are quite acceptable if you can get the waiter to hear what you want. Try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

I came to Crescent Ballroom to see a live performance on a Tuesday night. For some reason by the sounds of the name, I thought it was going to be a large ballroom. To my delight, it was a small and intimate venue. There was plenty of parking right in front which made me very excited. The doorman was very nice and told me about the metered parking. Wow thanks! Friendly bouncers, totally not what I’m used to coming from NYC. Inside, the venue was split into two different rooms. The front half looked like a cocktail/sports bar where I got to catch the ending of a Warriors game. The back half was the music venue which also had bleacher type seating in the back of the room. I had a great time not feeling squashed or trampled and just enjoying a weekday out immersed in music.

It’s pretty much Mexican fare. Everything we tried here was delicious! We had nachos which was a pretty nice portion. I ordered a chicken burrito that came grilled. The prices were a tiny bit high but if they can consistently serve up good food I’d definitely be back. They didn’t even have a band there at the time I went! Going back for a concert next!

Crescent Ballroom has been one of my favorite downtown Phoenix locations since I first moved to AZ nearly three years ago. In the time between then and now, I have been to Crescent Ballroom for tons of music shows and even a literary function(Spillers)! FOOD /DRINK For all the times I’ve visited, I have YET to try the food. How screwed up is that?! I’ll have to change that here sometime soon… I have, however, partaken of the bar menu, which is wonderfully diverse. I’m a single malt scotch guy, so seeing multiple scotch options at a venue bar gets me excited. The beer list is also pleasingly varied. VENUE But enough about food/drink. What about the venue? As a venue, Crescent Ballroom holds my #1 favorite spot. They host such a wide range of bands and seem to have a really good eye for new«indie» music that’s trendy and relevant. SOUND Sound is the biggest factor for whether or not I can enjoy my time at a music venue. Having been a musician myself, I know all that goes into a solid audio mix. I am VERY pleased to report that Crescent Ballroom has consistently featured the most professional sound engineering. I’m super picky about this, so being able to depend on them for a good mix means a lot! I’m quite certain the bands who play here feel the same. BALLROOM The ballroom features plenty of standing room, a bar all its own, bleachers(!), and typically multiple water dispensers at various locations within the ballroom so you don’t have to wait for ages at the bar just to «order» a cup of water when you’re parched from drinking/singing/screaming. PARKING Even parking isn’t that big of a deal at Crescent Ballroom because they have a decent-sized lot of their own in addition to plenty of street parking within easy walking distance. CONCLUSION To this day, I can’t say I’ve had a single bad experience at Crescent Ballroom. If you haven’t been, I recommend that you keep an eye on their music calendar and find an excuse to catch a concert. If you’d rather not wait, then go enjoy a dinner on the patio! You’re likely to be surprised by a small performance of some kind and, even if you’re not, I’m sure you’ll agree that the atmosphere and service alone are reason enough to consider the trip worthwhile. Thank you, Crescent Ballroom team, for working so hard to provide an enjoyable experience. You’ve been great. Can’t wait to see you again really soon!

Think hip Seattle/San Francisco local music venue circa 10 – 15 years ago. That’s really all you need to know(and to arrive during happy hour before things get crowded).

First time here and I will be back. The layout of this place has a Oregon feel to it. It just reminds me of the bars in downtown Portland. I saw Nortec Collective here and the main stage layout has an intimate feel to it. Anywhere you stand or sit you’ll have a great view of the performers. The sound system sounded great too. I will definitly be coming back here in the near future.

I love this venue — has lots of character and once I walked in — it smelled good and sweet(not grudgy and dirty like a men’s locker room). We had a seat in the back and just hung out waiting for the entertainment to start. The only issue I had was that the show was supposed to start at 8pm — it didn’t. It started more like quarter til 9pm and there were two intermissions that lasted more than thirty minutes until the headliner came on. It’s probably not the vendor’s fault, more the lack of preparation from the bands. Anyway, I had a great time — it did start getting really loud though — to the point that my eardrums seemed like they were about to burst! At that point, me and my date proceeded to leave. I don’t think that it’s because I’m getting old though. I think it’s because I’d rather NOT be deaf when I do get old.

Delicious food, nice cocktail variety & awesome venue! We visited cb for happy hour & the Nick Waterhouse concert. *We were thrilled with the happy hour menu and we ordered nachos, tacos, & bean dip. *Beer & wine on happy hour but sadly my margarita was not! Oh well I still had 3. Loved the tall glass of tangy tequila paradise to pre party for our retro guitarist friend Nick. *The fish tacos were delicious with great seasoning! Finally a restaurant that’s not afraid to flavor something simple! *The nachos were over the top with every topping item you may dream of. Absolutely the pinnacle of Arizona nacho happiness. Our server was a nice professional gal– I think Melissa? Really appreciated her listening and timing to make our night fly by talking with friends. Everyone from start to finish at crescent ballroom was professional & patient though not overly friendly. I can appreciate straight to the point and don’t always need an emotional connection with the bartender. As a concert venue they have the standing area with bleacher style seating in the back. We did a combo of standing /sitting/walking around. The bathroom was huge with no one in there! Usually concert bathrooms are long waits– not at this posh hipster venue! Finally they have a bar inside the venue so we were glad for the Arizona stronghold rose & cocktails.

My first experience with the Crescent Ballroom was pretty sweet. A small group of us visited on a Saturday night on the restaurant side. From 6−8pm there is an amazing flamenco group. I highly recommend it. Indoor seating is tight so come early. Food and drink are reasonably priced. The tacos are street style sized portions for $ 3 or $ 4 a piece. The carne asada can be enjoyed without adding any further spice. The blackened tilapia tasted like … tilapia.(The non-flavored fish of the world.) Beer runs anywhere from $ 3 to $ 5 on a normal day. Happy Hour is Monday 11AM-6PM and Tuesday-Friday from 3PM-6PM. Draft beers are a buck off. I dinged a star for two reasons. Service was hard to come by for some reason. Perhaps they slow down service during a show to avoid distracting the performers? Or they would like folks to drink two beverages only? The other terrible situation is the number of bathrooms. On the restaurant side there is only a single occupant woman’s bathroom. Unfortunately for us that night, there was barely any water running in the sink.(Which made for a long line.)
