This is the Versace of bookstores in the area. The bookshop keeper is really nice and helpful. the place is organized well, clean and not cluttered. However, this is a high-end bookstore. The books in the cases start at $ 1000.00! The books on the shelves are $ 999.99 and below :-). We did find some books that were signed and/or special or first editions that did not break the bank as low as $ 8.00, but be prepared when walking in the store that these books are special editions, signed, out of print or any other special category a book can have. This store is for serious readers and or collectors. The offerings are selective, unique and in some cases one of a kind. Great store.

WONDERFUL shop. Just exquisite. Has excellent and varied selection– and perfect place for those looking for anything on Japan– fantastic selection. Solzhenitsyn!!! They had one of his English translated books under glass. I wanted it badly, but for over 200. out of my spending range. They are a great place, no JUNK or useless books there. They have research papers some quite old also.

High end books, medium rare & antiquarian books. Nothing junky. Wide selection — bigger than Charles Parkhurst, smaller than the Book Gallery. Specifically, there are nice sections on Asia and the West and an amazing(and amazingly high-priced) selection of science and medicine papers(reprints) and journals. For unique items that no other bookseller has, the prices are not unreasonably high. But for items that are more widely available on the internet, his prices are often higher than the internet price.
