Good pit beef, ribs, wings from basically a food stand. Great fries of course. Biggest downside is hours as they close on M/T. But what can you do? Great place for an easy meal. Not sure what to say about prices. They seem about average for this kind of place($ 6 – 8 a sandwich, $ 11 colossal, platters $ 15+/-). They certainly are nowhere near Katz’s, which runs upwards and over $ 20 a sandwich!

Good ham and beef combo. Very friendly people and great fries. I’m a pit beef fanatic, so it’s not my top rated place but defiantly worth a try. Ribs are by far their best food.

Used to be great not so much anymore, if I am going to pay top dollar prices for pit beef I expect top quality. Sandwiches are skimpy, even when you pay extra for the larger sizes. This place is more expensive then Katz Deli in NYC, and this is no Katz Deli

I frequent this place for lunch or dinner when I visit my friend and work on cars all day. I have to say it is great when you have an appetite but there is something lacking with preparation. They have a nice menu with specialty sandwiches but they can be a bit pricey. The staff are very friendly and the food isn’t bad but there are better meals to be had for the price around Cockeysville. I wouldn’t make a trip for this place but if you are in the area and hungry go for it!

My husband and I are frequent and long-term customers of the original Charcoal Deli in Cockeysville. We were thrilled when Charcoal Deli’s owners opened Beefshack in Phoenix as it is closer to our home. Over the last 6 months, we have ordered carry-out ribs 4 different times. Because we love the Charcoal Deli, we wanted to give Beefshack every opportunity to make belivers out of us. We have been disappointed. On order #1, when we got the ribs home, we found them to be dry — where was the wonderful, tasty Charcoal Deli sauce? On order #2, we asked if we could have ribs that were not bone dry but had some juice. We got our wish but we were charged $ 1 for the«extra»(when there was no juice in the first place). Thinking that was a fluke/error, we asked for sauce over our ribs on order #3 — same thing — $ 1 extra charge for that. I asked why there was a $ 1 charge for putting juice/sauce on the dry ribs and the answer was that it was considered«extra». Order #4 was accompanied by a roll that must have been left over from 2009. It was hard as a rock and completely inedible. We had to toss it in the trash can. The ribs in order #4 did not fall off the bone; they were definitely not tender at all… we had to wrestle with them to get them off the bones. I have seen no indication at all of the Beefshack doing any marketing in our area and I think the failure to do so is a missed opportunity to build a customer base. Where are the flyers? Coupons? Promotions? Sample tasting? Based on our recent experiences, we’re not real motivated to place another order which is unfortunate because again, we would really like to see Beefshack succeed.

I ordered an $ 11 «colossal» sandwich which was the size of an Arby’s sandwich. The beef was overcooked to the point of it tasting like leather. The service was rude and slow. Not only was my order wrong, which i luckily caught while she wrote the ticket, but the cashier was slamming things, rude, and impatient. After all this my sandwich was still wrong; it had BBQ sauce on it even though I asked for no sauce. My friends order also had the wrong sauce. The fries were amazing though, which is why I’m giving two instead of one star.

Tasty food but terrible value. I got worried when my $ 18 bag of food felt about as heavy as a value meal from Arby’s. We got two sandwiches and a regular fry. Taste was good, but they should be embarrassed to put so little meat on a sandwich sold out of a big shed. I won’t bother going back.

Shack that offers fried food and grilled meat. Nothing here is spectacular Ribs are ok. Typical Maryland roadside Pitt beef and turkey shack. Don’t be fooled by the«pit» part. These are just meats grilled over gas grills, sliced and put on bread doped in ajous.

Excellent, finger-licking roadside food that Guy Fieri has yet to discover, esp, the pit beef and bucket ‘o fries to help you fill up before heading to your next travel destination. There is ample parking for even the biggest of SUVs/road trains, a cool walk-up window, outdoor dining, sauces in big pumps, lots of napkins to keep clean, and generally good times to be had by all. The BBQ pork and smoked turkey were awesome. Fast for a day or two before coming, and you will love it even more!
